This is a wonderful Schubert piano trio piece! As for the playing of the genius Janine I am lost for words!

I came hear to here Janine Jansen, but those two gentlemen are also such a virtuosos. Trio sounds in unison level, and this is very important for chamber music.

The passion that janine expresses with her interpretation is always wounderfoul...I would say that we love her music 'cause she "talks" about feelings,in which we could see ourselves reflected...that's art! Also,a brilliant celist

Un maravilloso trío de Schubert, de lo más inspirado de toda la música de cámara, que interpretan a la perfección (me atrevo a decirlo, sin hipérbole), tanto Janine Jansen como Torleif Thedéen y como Itamar Golan. No es sólo una conjunción perfecta respecto de la partitura, sino sobre todo en la sensibilidad con que interpretan a Schubert. Mientras uno disfruta del resultado, puede ver, gracias a la excelente grabación del video (y del audio: ¡enhorabuena también por eso), como Jansen y sus amigos (muy bien elegidos siempre) están gozando esforzadamente (el esfuerzo y el gozo no se excluyen: al contrario) en su trabajo. Y eso aumenta la felicidad del espectador (o, al menos, la mía). Un millón de gracias y de felicitaciones a ellos, al festival y, por supuesto, a AVOTROS Klasiek.

Wonderful playing! They let the music breathe and soar, just as I believe Schubert intended.

Thank you correcting me. It is just that Janine Jansen is such a terrific player and she always gathers good musicians around her. So you are absolutely right to point out where the others originate from.

I guess Schubert should be crying after hearing this wonderful performance of his own music. These are superb players and JJ seems to be in a permanent ecstasy. The way she reacts after playing the first notes is really amazing. I never saw anything like this. Love it.

The way Janine looked at the Cellist at the beginning is so funny, is like what do you say man.

Proud to be a Dutchman. Musicians are Dutch and really outstanding performenrs.

I'm very much a faan of these musicians. It wpuld be cheeky of me to make a slightly critical remark about the slow movement as they are far better musicians than I can ever be.This is not an adagio nor an andante but an andante un poco mosso. I don't think a slightly more flowing tempo would deprive the movement of any of its emotion. The middle section seems fine for tempo and also the recapitulation also seems to move a bit faster though there is a great slowing down in the middle - does this rallentando come from Schubert? But all is frogiven as their interpretation as absolutely beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful. The directness in their communication is stunning. Takes a LOT to get three minds working as one. I love Jansens forefinger on her bow - makes for great sound production.

Passionate and refined.

When it comes to an end it isn´t always the heroic Schubert we want, no, it is he who suffered from disease and even syphilis, and wrote that down in his music. As he did in this second movement 16:50 , I think this movement is , even in major, some sort of a repentant act, and at the same time a tribute to life. Well, it is free to think about this, and this is how I think.

Gorgeous music! The musicians are fantastic, the cinematography doing adequate justice to the video and audio. But good Lord, a lot of the audience members must be sick or have emphysema or TB, their violent coughing between movements is frightening to hear! At least they're considerate not to do that DURING this heavenly music.

I believe that Ingmar Bergman on his island Fårö, north of Gotland, in Sweden, often in older days listened to this music, as the fan of classical music he was. And he every time asked himself: "Where does music come from?" But I dont think he ever got a proper answer.

Wonderful performance, I love Janine's energy and charisma.

So gorgeous, as with other performances of hers I've heard online. But both here and in the Brahms Bb Sextet the balance favors the cello, hard to hear her (and I have my hearing aids in!)

I have listened to this performance a number of times now, and it never fails to enchant. The ensemble work is exquisite, the tempi and dynamics are beautifully judged, and the late Schubert's uncanny interweaving of intimacy and power is brought out in every movement. Thanks for posting this recording, which is also excellent as regards sound-engineering.

Thedéen is Swedish, Golan is a Lithuanian-born Israeli. This said, there is plenty of reason to be proud of Dutch achievements in classical music. That reason is about to disappear if the Dutch let their government go ahead and dismantle many of their prime orchestras as currently planned.
