On a recent visit to Twin Falls, ID, we encountered a group of BASE jumpers who were jumping off the almost 500 foot Perrine Bridge over the Snake River. What a thrill! How about that backflip?! Enjoy the drone footage of the gorgeous Snake River valley. The Snake River, at 1,078 miles long, starts in Western Wyoming running along southern Idaho. It was over this river near Twin Falls in 1974 that legendary daredevil, Evil Knievel, attempted to jump in a rocket propelled cycle. His craft technically made it across, but the parachute deployed prematurely, blowing him back into the canyon short of the north rim.
The Perrine Bridge Stretches 1500 feet across the Snake River. It opened in 1976. It is popular for base jumpers from around the world seeking the ultimate adrenaline rush. One of the only structures in the US where you can base jump without a permit.
