I’ve had the 10 speed 2020 for two years now. I have no complaints about it, if you put it into sport or track mode it will hold gears longer along with increasing throttle response. And it is quicker than a manual because I have raced plenty of them. That being said, the whole point of a manual is that you are more connected with the car, you decide when it shifts and you as a driver can make or break the car. In this day in age it really is a matter of personal preference, doesn’t matter which way you go, as long as you are happy with what you got then that’s all that matters.
I got a 16 auto premium . I have extended paddles on it , and love the paddle shifting. I would have preferred a manual , but in the end , I went with the auto
I have a 2018 6 speed Mustang GT base, although it is slightly modded. All my cars have always been and always will be manual. The only thing I would have really liked a lot from the Premium trim would have been the digital dash. The other stull wasn't as important to me and spending an extra $4000 or so to go Premium wasn't a viable option when I bought it. I have no regrets. I wanted the V8 and didn't care about the fluff.
sorry to be so off topic but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my account password. I love any tips you can give me!
@Maximiliano Easton i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
A Mustang GT Base with the 301A package is perfect. I wish I could have fully loaded mine like that but I just could not swing the price difference for some extra features. The Digital Dash might be necessary though.
I bought a used 2018 GT 6 speed base with only 20K miles on it a couple months ago and I couldn't be happier with it. All the extra stuff that comes with a premium PP is not necessary in my humble opinion. That said, I got mine already modded with everything I would have done to it so I saved a bunch of money that way. The only things I would have liked to have from the premium PP options would be the leather seats and bigger brakes. I can live without the leather and I plan on upgrading the brakes at some point but the stock brakes on the base are adequate for daily driving and highway hard pulls which is all I really do. My Stang is murdered out in all black, JLT cold air intake with Bama Rev Tech 93 octane race tune, Corsa Sport cat backs with X pipe, lowered on Eibach Sportline springs, 20" flat black 5 spoke MMD rims (10" wide in back and 8.5" wide in front, staggered), Mickey Thompson tires (305/35 in back and 255/35 up front), tinted and louvers on the back and side quarter windows. With mods it's close to 500 hp which is more than enough for me. This thing is a corner hugging beast. All the premium and performance pack stuff is nice but it's not going to make you go any faster. For those on a budget just go with a base and upgrade what you need to. As far as auto vs manual, the only advantage the auto has over the stick is it shifts a fraction of a second quicker which is only relevant in a very close drag race. With the stick you can stay in the power band area (3K+ RPMs) while driving around unlike the auto which keeps you in the lower RPM range unless you punch it then it has to downshift first. Unless you're driving in manual mode with paddle shifters. I like already being in the power band. I also like the dying art of manually shifting the gears during spirited driving especially on twisty roads. Paddles just don't have the same feel. Anyway, just my 2 cents.
I went with the 10 speed auto base model. My daily driver. Plan to build it over time. Faster, more reliable than the manual. Just need a whipple supercharger!
Working for an auction right now we go a 2018 5.0 with a whipple supercharger on it, they customer sold it to us for 28k 😂, so i pulled the car before the auction, and im buying it
🐎🏁Nice side-by-side comparison. If your viewers are willing to purchase a base GT, please take my (personal experience) advice and option for the 301A package. The small upgrades makes a more modern difference without paying too much. Trust me 😇
Had a 2016 Mustang gt with a 6 speed manual for 5 years, till I got my 2021 mustang GT with the auto. That 10 speed rips man, but I recommend not getting the performance pack manual cause those 3.73 gears are a pain to daily in. Feels like rowing a boat even with a short shifter.
I have a 17 performance pack fbo e85, other goodies like light weight wheels, suspension stuff, short shifter, etc. I love it and think it’s tons of fun. Do you think it’s worth upgrading to a Gen 3? I want the automatic Rev match and premium interior
Coming from an old school racer, 3.73 gears are actually perfect for the daily driver that races on weekends. You have good off the line power coupled with good highway driveability. If you go higher or lower one of those two things is going to suffer. It's the perfect compromise gear which is why Ford put it in the Mustang. My 2018 GT 6 speed is my daily driver and it feels perfectly geared to me no matter where I'm driving it. Just my humble opinion
Thinking about getting a mustang. Drove one last year. Smooth ride, good handling. Manual is too involved for my liking. Some days I work 18 hour days and manually shifting would be pretty annoying.
@@ItalianStallion410 update* just bought a new mustang. Well-I ordered it from Ford lol. I dont "buy" it until it's been made and shipped to my dealership.
It kind of sucks in stop and go traffic but otherwise once you have enough experience with it manually shifting just becomes second nature and you don't even have to think about it. You just instinctively do it. But I also have over 30 years of driving manuals including big rigs which I drive every day. My current truck is a new Cascadia Automatic and sometimes I find myself going to push the non-existant clutch and reaching for the non-existant shifter from all the years of muscle memory haha.
ItsAnt dude I’m not gonna sit here and argue politics with you on RU-vid comment section. All I’m gonna say is there are million reasons to dislike Biden and the whole democrat party. If you wanna learn more, do your research. You can not trust anything that CNN, MSNBC, or any of the other garbage liberal mainstream media outlets talks about. Don’t be a sheep. Don’t follow the crowd, learn the TRUTH on your own. Go watch some of Conservative Twins videos on RU-vid.
I gotta 6spd California Special. Had it five years and everything that has ran up on me I have beaten. These engines out rev the other ancient push rod motors. DOHC babi❤. The Dodges are the funniest 😂they so heavy they can't get out the whole fast enough. DODGE. DO OR DIE GARAGE EXPERIMENT. 😂😂😂
for my mustang i got cloth seats but i did get the big screen with sync 3,ambient lighting and active exhaust with performance pack.I got all the stuff i needed i didn't really care about the leather seats but i cared about ambient lighting and big screen
For me, driving a standard is fun for about a month, then it gets old fast. I've owned four GT Mustangs over the years and all were automatics, including my current 2018 GT.
Yeah, I don’t know what the hell Ford was thinking when they put those ugly ass yellow bulbs in........especially a premium pkg! I ordered the stage 1 LED replacements from Diode Dynamics for the visors, the reading lamps and the glove box. MUCH BETTER! As always, enjoyed your post!
I had a base '19 manual GT. Sounds awesome and goes. But the base with no options does not include. Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. At least in 2019 it didn't.
Just got my auto 20’ mustang gt and traded my manual 15 mustang gt and whew, it’s such a big difference. only reason i did is bc my mt82 was giving me problems 🤦🏻♂️
when i found out that the screen costed 700$ to install i instantly settled for a 2020 10 speed w 5k miles for 36k rather then paying 42 for one w 20k miles
If I had a fox and a newer one I would definitely beat/race the fox. So much lighter and needs less power to be fast and since it is lighter it would be less stressful on your drive line.
I bought my 2021 GT for the motor and Auto trans because I have no intention of racing. I also bought a new 1968 Mustang Cobra Jet for the same reason, motor, and manual trans because back then I wanted to go drag racing. Interesting that my 2021 is quicker in the 1/4 mile than the 428 CI Cobra Jet. There is a replacement for displacement. As an experience HPDE driver/ instructor the auto shift faster but the manual is more fun on a road course.
@@AmericanSCPO the catch can catches all the extra oil that is getting slung around at high RPMS cause if it wasn’t there to catch it. It would go right back down into your intake manifold and over time it will coat everything in oil and cause less airflow witch mean less power and worse gas milage!
I got a 21 gt premium with the 401a package couldn’t the extra like 6gs for the pp1.. but only thing I’m missing is better tires and rims which I can get later on everything else I can live with out since I’m just using it a a regular daily driver.. also I have a 10speed and the 4-5 gear can be a bit jerky.. so u ever experience that?
I got the base myself just for the lighter weight. It's eventually going to be a track car. It was hard for me too cause I love the leather seats! I did also get the 10 speed and love that also. 1st auto mustang I've ever owned!
Oh, I meant if you weighted the cars on a scale. How much time does gas last in a mustang 2.3L? I’m from Latam, and I want a mustang to go to the gym, working and dating. It’s Short distances, thanks for your time
