I like the content. I think you need to let the owners do at least one drag race. You might not know their car as well as them. They might be able to get a better launch
As a Stinger owner I can confirm it's a rocket from a dig and it never gets old, it's not a roll race car, but if you're a stoplight warrior it will never dissapoint you. :)
As a Stinger owner myself, simple tuning will absolutely turn the Stinger into a roll racer, especially if you have a 2019-2021 GT RWD trim which is the lightest version available.
@@koreandude81 I agree. I have the 19 stinger gt1 and with the jb4, hks spark plugs and a&e intakes and I run map 4 which is e30. That's stinger is a monster on the freeway with that map. Big difference from stock. I believe it's 7 psi more then stock.
@@koreandude81 Got myself a 2022 Scropion edition & I absolutely believe it. AWD wins from a dig but ironically but not ironically the RWD wins overall especially from a dig if launched right. I simply bought the AWD Scropion due to living in Wisconsin but had it my way RWD for the win & some extra fun. 😁 Even better that it's a KIA lol
@@valiant7357 I have a ‘21 mustang and can tell he was in track mode and not drag mode, judging by the downshifts when he was braking. He also was paddle shifting (way slower) than letting the car shift for him
I said the same thing fellas. I have a 2020 GT and these races seemed a bit off. But mine does have a few more horses so 🤷🏾♂️ I own a challenger as well. Love that stinger too.
I never said it was you goof however I did say this guy clearly didn’t drive it to its full potential and was slackin you just sound bitter about life so peace be with you but keep the full retard mode turned off when you talk to me.
What a great and interesting race. AWD makes a big difference and of course once the V8s got the better start they were closer and beat the Stinger, but the Stinger did well considering less HP and more weight.
AWD gives you consistency at launch, and is a huge advantage in non ideal weather conditions, bad track surface, or against subpar drivers. I'll let you draw your own conclusion on which this was.
@@jamesmin2837 My conclusion is, It was embarrassing for the two muscle cars having trouble with a Kia of all cars, and the Stinger is a proper four door family car unlike the other two. I have a Stinger with a tow bar and it tows a 1000kg trailer like it's not even there, and for that reason I bought the Stinger. Like I said, EMBARRASSING and half the price where I'm from.
@@marcolucchini8173Who gives a fuck about your stupid conclusion. Not your Stinger in the video. I'd smoked 3 stingers already, 2 on street and 1 at the track.. you have a high 12s second car. That's where you belong in the pecking order.
@@marcolucchini8173 dude what are you talking about embarrassing? The Kia weighs less than the dodge, has better aero, is turbo charged and awd. And cost 57,790 for the GT model. Also 4 valves not 2. Not going to comment on the GT as it never beat the stinger. But same case except has 4 valves and lighter. Impressive yeah but don’t act like all the newest tech wasn’t added to the stinger racing an ancient 2v push rod motor heavy 2 wheel drive and a na motor just to lose. Price is comparable.
This channel definitely deserves more credit for what they do. Strait to the point, good fair choice’s for line ups, and fair driving to see the better car. Doesn’t get better than that!
Unfortunately I just think the actual racing of this channel is super sketchy. Never consistent and bad driving practices often :/. He has a ton of drag races which I like and like mentioned it has interesting lineups. I’m all for that. But I can never trust the outcome.
@@AntFragale Yeah even this video sucks. You can tell he has no idea how to drive that Mustang. Standard Drive mode with the TCS on and you're like 0.5sc slower in the 1/4... Sad And him saying that it's better in manual mode is terrible. Every 10 speed 5.0 driver will tell you to only put it in manual to downshift and put it back to auto for the races. The computer works way better. This channel is def. not as good as say throttle house.
@@virusworld3730 that’s now how it works man 🤦🏻♂️😂 anyone on hood tires can speed in the rain only thing is if they floor it from a dig it’s harder for AWD and RWD to get traction
@@Justaeuropeanman not for a awd, awd handles wet roads with ease, fwd and red cars do not, u go speeding and taking hard turns in raining weather on hood tires and hit me back with a video that u made it in one piece 😭😭😭😭
@@donaldkinder6716 don’t think you understand that the top end of the 5.0 makes it accelerate to top speed faster than that boat 392 that’s why it always beat the scat lll
The stinger was surprisingly quick considering less power and a lot more weight, especially with 2 less cylinders I was surprised the mustang held of the scat too, definitely interesting
Would be interesting to see the engines in the same car. The Challenger is overcoming a lot pushing all that weight, worse aerodynamics, gearing, etc. I wonder how much of the Mustangs potency is the inherent DOHC top end and how much is just from being a more focused performance car.
@@raxso3044 The fastest stock 15-17 GTs ran was high 12s at 113 or so. The 18-up Manuals do low 12s at 115 and the A10s do high 11s at 119 or so. So his car is definitely modified. But those 15 to 17 Coyotes are great platforms to easily make more power. There's a kit ford sells that kicks their power up to 471 HP. Wakes up their top end for sure.
Kia Stinger GT just a different animal! Heavier less hp yet the mopper barely walked away from the roll. Just slap a jb4 and it will take on the roll on both like water. Hurting a lot of feelings 😂 but as always it was very entertaining! Thanks Sam! Keen ‘em coming
@@burgerbandit3646 No they won’t 😂 you do realize those 2 have naturally aspirated v8 engine right? Jb4 won’t work! On the other hand, Stinger GT just with that tune will push over 370whp with almost 500ft of torque! Big difference!
@@abulhashem-jc9mv Aside from an intake, it's far easier to push the GT and Challenger to another level. Bolt- ons and E85 in a 10 speed will keep up or pass Hellcats.
@@burgerbandit3646 😂 bolt on means intake, exhaust, header throttle body you’re already looking at over 10k! That’s an absurd comparison against a $1200 package which can put this Stinger on 450whp and can gap a hell kitty too! It’s been done already 👌 search up Stinger vs Hellcats, you will find a whole lotta ‘em getting owned by Kia
@@fairplay1324 You're smoking something if you think you can just put $1200 in a stinger and beat a Hellcat. The laughing emoji doesn't make your argument any more valid.
Wow again I can’t believe how well the Stinger GT2 help up to the Stang and the Challenger Sam !!! Considering the HP difference that’s impressive!!! I have to come this summer 23 with my Stinger GT2 awd modified (505hp 502 tourque) and we should drag something fun against it lol …awesome video as always!!!
@@ronyrichard5725 If you think a 365hp car that runs low 13s / high 12s can even do anything vs a 460hp car that runs low 12s high 11s then you're an idiot. I have plenty of footage of spanking stinger gts , I have footage running faster 1/4 mile than any factory stinger gt can as well. The only cope is every stinger GT owner coming on this video to try and talk trash to Mustang owners LMAO ...
I did not expect the chally to win in a dig at all coming from a boat owner. The Kia is the real surprise tho. I drove one of the gt versions when I was a trainee in a Kia shop so I knew they were fast but it never felt as quick as the 5.0 I got later. Cool to see it can hang on for quite a while. The fact that it gets thrown into the ring with 5.0s and 392s says alot
Would love to see a AWD vs RWD Stinger. I want to see the difference a drivetrain makes using the same powertrain. AWD takes the lead on a dig but I think 2WD has an advantage on a roll. I'm thinking it's because of less resistance in the drivetrain since the other 2 wheels are just there and there's no shaft or diff connecting all 4 wheels.
Nice video Sam. I enjoy watching your races. Have you considered having a Challenger Scat Pack 1320 on the your channel? They are a bit quicker than a regular Scat Pack
As per other videos, if V8's can launch good, they'll win, or always win from a roll, but in real life, it's hard for them to do and why the AWD Stinger will take them to the 1/4 mile... As here, the RT 392 got a less spin launch and took it. How Well the Stinger Still kept up there and stayed close in the Rolls, Wow, What a Stinger !!! Love this Car !!!
I own a 2019 Stinger GT here in the states. I’m absolutely in love with this car. I get chased down on the daily to know what the car is. She is HiChroma Red. Stunning. All E badged out. I have touches of carbon fiber. Thank you a great video.
we got 2023 and thats that. same with many others. was eyeballing a Chrysler 300 for the wife and this year is it.. everyones moving to these hideous SUV things
I've got 2019 392, getting it to hook up is tough. I put 305's on the rear.. helped a ton. It's a fun comfortable car to drive with a lot of room in the cabin.
Nice to see a stock Stinger doing so well. I haven't had the chance to race too many people, but my Stinger is FBO, WMI, Tork Tuned on both TCU and ECU and is an absolute monster in sport mode. Even with AWD traction becomes an issue, can't imagine what RWD would be like. Already replacing tires every year which I didn't know was a thing with higher performance, but I guess it makes sense. My brother just got a new Mustang GT, hoping we can line them up at some point so I can show him what my KIA can do :). Great vid, thanks for posting!
So does anyone ever use drag mode in the mustang instead of just putting it in sport mode with the shifter, to see if the difference on the roll will be different?
There is a bit of an interesting discussion going on right now about the 392 making more power than advertised (not just the one in this video, all of them). Motortrend did a dyno video back in 2015 and the 392 put down 434rwhp which means it’s more like 510hp (assuming 15% DTL) instead of it’s rated power.
That is what they max out at that is the highest I ever seen 532HP but it’s not consistent so Dodge plays it safe and puts a lower HP they did the same thing in the 60s and 70s
As a Stinger owner there's nothing more we like to hear than "come on catch the Kia" jajajajajaja Next spring these cars won't be able to catch up to me from a dig or roll!
Love the adrenaline rush Dodge driver is getting @ 7:04 ! You can see his hand shaking while touching the pedal shifter. Great race as always, thanks Sam.
As a stinger owner, all I can tell you is that it's like jumping into an ironman suit. I have had many run'ins with both late models, and it never disappoints. This may be an accurate challenge because I slept on the Mustang GT.
Those Stingers will be a classic and legend one day, once people finally get the hint/news that Kia done channeled that inner *cough* german *cough* power. Like an RS7 and a Hyundai Genesis 5.0 had a baby. And named it Stinger. 😂
Great Video! Pretty much what I was expected. The only difference is when you buy a Mustang, it's like buying a canvas, a base template. The aftermarket took this car by storm decades ago and you can turn that thing to a beast. Never did great from a dig unless you have prepped surface, but otherwise this car is surprising, even in stock level. Love the Challenger also, pretty mean car.
I have had 14 mustangs, ima dig racer and you have to know how to launch it. Most ppl give it to much gas and it will spin. Mine is a 6spd. I roll into the throttle while letting the clutch kinda fall out at me..chirp the tires and keep applying throttle. As u ranp up towards 2nd I go full throttle and no lift shift second and third. By then I've closed the gap and passed the other car. Most ppl get jumped out the hole and slam the gas peddle, and spin. I never look at the other car. I run MY race looking straight ahead.
@@trspratlen Exactly, you have to know your build. I have a cammed 3v making only 326 rwhp and even with much less power than this 2018, launching that thing from a dig is very challenging.
So recently, the Stinger beat the Cadillac CT5 V by relatively the same margin as it did to this Mustang. So I wonder how close the race would be between the Mustang and CT5 V.
Do it I have the 3.3 tt with ecu, tcu, and methanol and it would be past that line before these were even half way. They take so well to cheap mods and you will be 500 awhp before you know it
The Stinger is so smooth, even considering that it’s much heavier & got less power. It’s my favorite car! Fun for the drag as well as a perfectly comfortable 4 door family sedan complete with a hatch/roomy trunk. The other two are mostly weekend or only daily drives if without a family to haul around.
@@delusionalz8707 my 22 GT has been ridden hard since april 9th already got 25k miles on it not a single issue and its still tickin...cant say the same for my 3 previous stingers [all 2019s all blown their turbos and heads before 2k miles]...when i thing GT car Kia is the last car maker i think of...add to that the kia cost me 5k more than the mustang
Great video, but the real entertainment is in the comments. "If this." "If that." Lol. You saw the results. Exactly what would happen rolling up to a complete stranger on the streets. Sooo many factors out of your control that will dictate the outcome of a race. I own the same Challenger but in Frostbite. There are days I win and days I lose. It's all about driving what you like and enjoying it. There will always be someone faster and there will always be excuses. Enjoy what you drive and keep the culture alive!!
I'd love to see a tuned stinger vs a the other two cars. Some may argue that is not fair, but that was always the import vs domestic argument. Turbo cars, you can tune and up the boost a lot cheaper than doing, headers, cam, CAI for muscle cars.
It’s not a fair comparison because it’s a mod. As soon as you start modding it’s just whoever has the biggest wallet wins. That’s why stock vs stock is a common way to compare.
Just got my Stinger GT2 Scorpion package yesterday and it is a squirrelly little mofo, seriously it’s insane how quick this thing is. Mad respect to Mustang, Challenger and Camaros too, all beautiful cars 🫡
@Richard Kistner tank in value? really because i CAN get a 2021 SRT superbee for less than 20k while a base GT same vintage with 50k miles is still a 30k car...also idk where the argument is coming from but imma end it, 4 sec 0-62 with a reliable engine and trans that can handle any bolt on out of the box its not the Fiat [now Peugeot]. and the mustang is the progenitor of ALL pony cars the charger is confused on what it is started as a coupe small block now we have the hood special...
@Richard Kistner also 500lbs with a 6.4L isnt the issue...its a typical dodge wont even let you rev above 4k in neutral...mustang [like honey badger] dont care.
@@soldier09r If only he knew anything about the cars he tries to race this channel might be useful but seeing a few videos on here I absolutely do not trust the results of Sam's races.
@@CarAccelerationChannel but I also love the no BS beginning. Minimal yapping and straight to business. That’s what I liked the most. I see you have a channel! I’m about to check you out! I can’t get enough of this stuff lol
Surprised how well the Stinger performed on the dig, probably bc it weights less but nonetheless impressed. I sometimes feel as though the challenger is just too heavy for that 392 and we can’t really witness that engines true potential.
Mutual respect for the 392. I wish they would live on. I pull up to 392s in my 5.0 and usually think twice about challenging them knowing I might get my ego hurt. Lol
man the snow pearl white stinger never ceases to amaze, great runs for all 3 cars and Kia showed that the Stinger can hold its own amongst American muscle 💪🏼🙏🏼
Yeah it really cannot. Sam just doesn't know how to drive. This is what a Stock Mustang really does to stinger Gts : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-21dsyxz5s-E.html
My Stinger is very spry off a red light :) I haven't bothered with a tune but I did have Eibach sway bars and coils installed which adds a great deal of stability. Given its a roomy sedan with a power hatchback and large storage space its hard to reconcile how fast it really is.
@@TundraBoy Amazing. I have conti snow tires on a second set of rims and the AWD system and traction control makes it very effective in poor road conditions
Burger Motorsports has a 420awhp package for the Stinger for only $1200 (just intakes, jb4, and spark plugs essentially). Once you add this, a stock Stinger almost feels slow. Be careful though, you'll hurt A LOT of feelings. Lol
Iv got a 19 gt2 rwd stinger so it has the lsd. It’s honestly about the same off the launch as the awd one but it’s quite a bit faster on the roll. Added cold air intakes, catback exhaust and midpipes with HKS plus and a jb4 and the look of stunned is hilarious.
@Andrew Katkaveck bruh you had to do all that just to put the power down compared to a stock AWD stinger… you literally paid more just to beat a stock version of the same car off a dig. Do the same to the AWD version and you’re back at square one getting dusted
@@marsallen4298 you don’t know if he prefers rwd which is more fun than awd or if that’s what he could afford and the difference between the two isn’t much awd is only good right of the launch.
Im a former 392 Charger owner and a current 10 speed 5.0 owner. Ultimately the stinger is a slow car but it shines against factory tuned cars because the stinger has less power to put down than the 392 and the Mustang. You can't go full throttle on a 392 or a Mustang unless you're on a prepped drag strip. The stinger only has the ability to hold off a 392 for a brief time if the 392 launches poorly, same with the Mustang. Ultimately a 392 and a 5.0 Mustang are much faster cars. The stinger is an interesting car for the price, but it's not a truly fast car like a 392 or a Mustang.
@@burgerbandit3646 the mustang and challenger should be in the low 12s and the stinger does low 13s so these races don't really speak for the cars as a whole , a 392 being pulled that hard at the top end by a 5.0 is odd
@@TB-vb3ov Stinger looks like it's the lightest, but it's not. Even if it's, it still has close to 100 and well over 100 less hp against the challenger.
All in all, pretty much what I expected. Stinger AWD will ALMOST always take the dig unless you can actually launch the 392 good enough, the torque will take over. Mustangs always have great top end power, especially with the amazing 10 speed. Subjectively, I'd take the 392 for the looks, comfortability, and just sheer punchiness and fun factor of the torque. All great cars.
I wanna see the rwd version of the Kia in this, only because when you get the awd version it’s top speed is reduced a bit, but it would also be interesting to see how the rwd holds up being without the awd takeoff advantage
I love my Stinger, especially in the rain. I doubt many cars hook up better than it. The Mustangs, Camaros and Mopars seem like they are still waiting for the light while I put several car lengths on them. But from a roll a car with 100 more hp should beat me, but I can hang very well.
Actually stock stinger is faster than a 392 not sure about the new 10 speed 5.0. It depends on the region and specs. Here in the middle east we only get RWD Stinger and its 400 lbs less heavy than AWD US/Canada Stinger.
You need the performance pack tires at least if you wanna have a good race from a did with the mustang. Those 235's all seasons won't cut it. But that ice white package is nice 👌🏽
I knew something was off in the mustang gonna have those garbage tires in a dig race the mustang would have won every single race if it had proper tires
Boy drag racing has sure changed since back in my days (early 70's). We were poppin clutches, bangin gears, smokin tires and fishtailin all over a 2 lane road. Nowadays the cockpit views look like you're out for a Sunday drive. Technology.. .Got - a - love it??
I own a 2016 mustang GT. I love it. She turns heads here in the UK as they’re not as common over here (even the S550’s). But I have to admit it, Ropers 392 looks awesome in that Green and sounded epic!! That stinger also took me by surprise. With AWD not surprising It was quick off the line but it held that lead longer than I thought it would’ve. Thanks for that video, really fun to watch. Ross
only reason it held as long as it did is Sam is clueless about driving the Mustang. A 10 Speed 5.0 Absolutely obliterates both Stingers and Scat Packs. This video is terrible.
I got a 22 G70 3.3t and it's a rocket! A little lighter than the Stinger but damn I would love to have that backseat room. Lol. Awesome race guys. 💯. Don't sleep on the Koreans.
what exhaust kit is the stinger using? if its stock then im extra pissed at kia for not bringing the new variable exhaust (+ the larger tips for looks) to europe for that facelift. we got the infotainment + rear lights but not the new exhaust.
Mustang GT 10-Speed in S+ mode definitely wins over these two. Dig and roll. Never paddle shift a 10-Speed! I feel like the owner of the Mustangs should be the one racing and behind the wheel. I said what I said.
You are 100% correct. The 10 speed doesn't like to be shifted with the paddles and it also doesn't like when you just floor it instead of downshifting with the paddles and then letting the computer take over after that. Also drag mode is the fastest roll mode and if it hooks from a dig👌👌
