Those men are the reason I pitch this way plus nobody expects you to throw a knuckleball when you release the ball basically from the ground

When the Royals won the 1985 World Series, they got a congratulatory phone call from President Reagan. Reagan referred to the Royals relief ace as "Jim Quisenberry." A few days later the Royals visited the White House, and Reagan apologized to Quisenberry for calling him "Jim". Quiz replied, "That's okay, don." Sadly, Quizenberry died at the age of 45 from brain cancer, which also had killed the manager of that championship team, Dick Howser.

There's a video available on RU-vid of the Washington Senators at spring training in 1931 featuring some shots of a pitcher named Ad Liska who threw completely underhanded. Most of the submariners throw more like 3/4 underhand, like Quisenberry & Tekulve, but Liska is completely underhand like a softball pitcher.You can also watch Walter Johnson's motion in the video, and he was always considered a sidearm pitcher, but he's as submarine as some of the pitchers in this video. The Senators also had a pitcher named Dick Hyde who had one sensational season as a reliever in an otherwise mediocre career, in the late 50s. Have never seen any film of him. He was a skinny guy with glasses, looking something like Tekulve, but not so tall.

Hello been taking care of my father still.He is hanging in there always some setbacks please keep him in your prayers.I still am enjoying your videos this one was over the top with your incredible research as always.Kent Tekulve makes me cringe when I see him.I can still remember that guy wrenching loss to the pirates in 79 series.I was just a 9 year old kid back then and remember it like yesterday.Everytime I hear the song we are family brings back those bad memories.Anyhow things are looking up for the O's hope the management stays pat at the trade deadline.we have some chemistry and if it ain't broke don't try to fix it.Btw still can't wait to do some fishing but my father is my most important priority now.Your videos help me get through the hardest thing I have ever experienced in my life.kerp them coming and thanks again.Be safe.

Why do you think we don't see many submarine starters?
@Hatbilly
@Hatbilly 2 года назад
That's a great question. In today's game, I think they're just seen as specialists. Perhaps a limited repertoire of pitches is a factor. I failed to mention it here, but Watanabe was a career starter, and he had five or six different pitches to choose from.
@logansvideos95
@logansvideos95 2 года назад
