With Spring Training already starting, players like Blake Snell, Jordan Montgomery, and Matt Chapman remain unsigned. Cody Bellinger just signed two days ago. It's clear baseball has a free agency problem, but how is the MLB going to fix it?

Given their mixed histories, I think at the very least Snell and Bellinger were asking for too much. Monty reportedly wanted to go to a team that couldn't afford him. Chapman is the real sticking point for me.

If the Padres didn’t give machado such a big contract they would have been able to resign snell instead of letting him go into free agency,Padres loss for sure 😢

I don't see a problem. The free agents want more, the owners don't look to pay it. The far bigger problem I see is the taxpayer ripoff the owners pull when getting the public to pay for facilities. Now that is a problem. This means in MOST cases, the taxpayers are footing MLB expenses.
