I'm not sure what scenario there would be where the second baseman doesn't catch the ball until you have already passed first, but that seems like a pop up to me. If the ball is caught in the air before it hits the ground anywhere on the field, you are out no matter what. You do not have to be tagged. In a weird scenario where you hit the ball that first hits the ground and then continues to roll to the second baseman, once you pass first, you must be tagged to be put out.

Tagging a running person is with the mitt that has the ball in it, lets say i'm standing at second base and you are the runner coming from first base, my outer field threw the ball to me and i caught it then you came close and then i tagged you with my mitt before you touch the plate then you are out. The catchers job is really hard, it isn't easy to catch those fast balls, but i cant really tell you the true purpose of the catcher.

same here. They teach cricket though but it's of course not the same, and it is by far not among the most played sports in my country there are like 2 or 3 baseball fields in my country and I guess, people are playing it but not at a very high level. I think American baseball is just miles ahead from what they do here. They may not be the best at soccer but watching American basketball or baseball or whatever is just soo cool in my opinion.

Like if you're a big city type person, look at New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs etc. If you are more of a smaller city type person but still want to root for a good team, look for teams like St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles, etc.

Getting to one base is worth nothing. The goal is to reach home plate. Getting to first, then second, then third puts you closer and closer to the goal, but you don't score a run until you touch home plate again. That is worth one run. If you hit a home run, by rule you are allowed to go all the way around and score. Anybody on base before you is also allowed to score.

Jordan A home run is not the only way to score. When someone gets around all 4 bases people mistakenly call it a Home Run. But it's just called a Run. A home run is when you hit the ball and make it around all 4 bases without there being an error, and before the next batter hits.

A home run is when the batter hit the ball and it landed outside the playing area(i dunno what its called), specifically over the fence and no fielders could reach it. With a Home Run, the batter can cross all four bases without the risk of being tagged

A foul ball is counted as a strike if the batter has either zero or one strike at that point; if he has two strikes then it doesn't count as the third strike and he continues to bat. However, just as in fair territory, if a foul ball is caught before it hits the ground the batter is out no matter how many strikes he has. Also, if the batter has two strikes, then his bat even slightly "tips" the pitch and the catcher holds onto the ball without dropping it that counts as a third strike and the batter is out. Very confusing, I know.

Foul can be 1st or second strike. So if you have 2 strikes already, you can theoretically hit 10000 foul balls in a row and it will still only be strike 2

Atef Yamin It’s simple. You just move out and the next batter goes.

As an outsider looking in, Baseball feels way more complicated than Cricket and doesn't not feel simple at all. I'm not gonna say anything about Baseball being better sport, that's clearly your opinion, but I have mention that Cricket is also a very nuanced sport.
