As you asked for feedback... I really like the style of your videos. A good balance between the Basecamp and the actual adventure itself, and a good balance of in-picture speech vs voiceover. That it's filmed with just an iPhone and a drone shows that the quality of the story is more important than the equipment you use.
Thanks Hywel. That’s great feedback and you make a superb point. It can be easy to fall into a trap of buying the best camera gear which won’t necessarily deliver a better result. Thanks for a great comment.
Hi Nick, thoroughly enjoy all the content you've put on here. So useful and definitely helped us reach the decision on buying our 2020 Basecamp last May. So far we've used it in 8 destinations and a mix of long weekends, occasional weeks away and a 2 week holiday all in the UK. We even braved a week after Christmas and into January, and it was glorious It's been the best thing we've bought and wish we'd done it years ago. This year we already have our long weekends booked and a longer trip to Europe, taking the ferry from Newcastle as we live in Edinburgh. As ex-wild campers (tent) I'm looking forward to hearing more about how you get on wild camping with the Basecamp as would love to be able to explore that option too. Many thanks for all your hard work keeping us so well informed about the Basecamp.
We literally cannot wait to see where you get to this year. We are in Glencoe in Feb off the back of one of your videos. Cannot wait! Feedback: wife shouted “go abroad!”🤣
I really enjoy the channel as I’m planning on buying a basecamp hopefully this year. I am a bit nervous about splashing out so much money, have you done a guide to best way to find a good caravan? I recall you’ve said it’s best to go for one post 2020 as that’s when they starting making with no timber frame. I am following the Basecamp Facebook group but there seems a lot of negativity and issues with the quality of build so any advice would be much appreciated. Keep up the good work 👏
Thanks for your comment and you pose the right questions. We too where in the same place before we bought ours. I very nearly pulled out the truth be known as I worried I was spending a fortune on a headache…sooooo glad we didn’t. All caravans will have issues at some point. It’s just the way they are made. Buying used will normally mean any teething problems or big issues will have been sorted already under warranty. It’s vital to note that the issues on social media albeit very valid represent a small percentage of Basecamp owners. That said, the Basecamp is not a luxury or high quality product like a Coachman or Buccaneer caravan. It’s a practical and functional camper. You are right to recall I recommend a 2020 model onwards as the models have no timber in their frames. They have a full GRP construction.
Hi great videos as always. As soon to be new caravaners we would love to know what equipment to buy is a must and what you have wasted your money on. Everything from awnings, tv’s and tin openers. What are must haves, what are great to have and what are not worth bothering with. It would be great to get your take on things .
That’s a great idea! It’s a build on another idea to make a video covering thoughts on buying a Basecamp. I could incorporate the two. I’m currently mulling over a the content so I’ll see what I can do. Thanks for your comment!
As you probably guessed I don't have a Basecamp. I still however enjoy the videography (is that a word?) your honesty & that you too are learning as you go. Here's to 2023 👌
found your channel after looking for a caravan to get started with and totally fallen in love with the base camp! would be great to see a full walk around video of the van and what i would need for general day to day running of it
@@FlyCampCaravanNorthWales I’m torn at the moment, I need a 3 birth possibly 4 as we have small kids, and I know other models and older ones have a lot more space than the basecamp. Going to have a look at a basecamp 4 this morning so I can get a idea for it 😀
Hi, just like to say I’ve watched most of your vids and love all of them , as I have a caravan and a camper van we use are caravan as a base camp on the llyn and our camper van as a day van for walks in the mountains and coast paths 👍 thanks for sharing your adventures, brill
Hello, and a Happy New Year. I look forward to following your adventures in 2023. Your content of both the Basecamp and the camp-sites, plus your walks are excellent, and very informative. I have enjoyed watching, so thanks for posting them. A Basecamp is high on my list of potential future purchases, although I am also considering a Campervan/Motorhome. I am sure when I can afford either I will have made my mind up. All the best, Richard
Happy New year to you your wife and the dog Nick. Looks like you have a full itinerary so far. Look forward to more vlogs of your adventures they are really enjoyable and the reason me and the missus got the Basecamp. See you on site somewhere 👍🏻
Lol mate I’m following you at the moment I’m heading to Luss in March. Culloden and North Ledaig in April Keswick then up to North Berwick in August. I fancy trying Bunree and also Invercoe. You should have a look at the Isle of Arran for a break it’s a gorgeous island.
Maybe in the future. I’m still relatively new to caravanning so maybe a bit of stretch at the moment albiet very doable for sure. We are really enjoying touring the UK at the moment. Northern and Southern Ireland are on our radars next
