The channel is all about the great outdoors and my passion for Paragliding, our Swift Basecamp 2 Caravan and wild camping. I create content covering caravanning adventures across the UK, wild camping on the welsh coast and highlights from Paragliding flights.
I have had a few caravans over the years and done all the towing etc. Bought a VW campervan but that has it's down sides no washroom etc. So I am drawn to the base camp, no fuss, great spec, warm and easy to tow. It is the perfect choice for us who don't want the expense of a motor home or large caravan. Really good honest video thanks, 👍
Fingers crossed you find one you like. Have you discovered the Official Swift Basecamp Owners Group on Facebook? There are several owners on there towing with an EV should you have any questions.
Beautiful .Another cracking video.Bad news, I had to say goodbye to pip on Monday .Heartbroken 💔 he was 12 and a fantastic dog. Keep them coming I love seeing the dog enjoying life 🐶👍
Hi Nick. Great video as always. We're off to this site on our 3rd ever trip, next week. The site looks quite compact for maneuvering . Is that the case? We have a small 2 berth caravan, similar to your BC2. Thanks.
You should have no problems manoeuvering although some pitches are quite tight on the access however if you have a motor mover, you’ll have no problems at all. The site is in a beautiful part of the world. Enjoy.
Thanks nick for your insight and comments. Im looking for a basecamp for next year, weve had caravans in the past when our daughters were small, really enjoyed those holidays. Im retired now and gonna take it up again. So looking for a 2 berth. Really like the look of the basecamp. Ill not be shocked by the work as ive done it before. Really enjoying your videos nick, great stuff. Thankyou.
Just found your vlogs now as we are looking for a basecamp. Absolutely brilliant video beautiful photography and narration. Looking forward to catching up with all your videos. Thankyou.
Great to meet you on this site Nick! (And Mrs Nick and the dog). We took your advice and went to the kite feeding and it was fab! We are still in mid Wales enjoying the spectacular scenery. We cycled the Dams and our pictures do not do justice to the gorgeous views we saw. Yours do as always.
Another great Vlog Nick. Wales looks absolutely stunning. We are going to Wales next year for our Summer Holidays my Wife has never been and has always wanted to visit. So will be looking at sites to book in the Autumn. Hope you let the missus win at Cluedo 😂 makes for an easy life 😂. Superb mate keep them coming 👍🏻
Fascinating video as ever. I had red kites at the last house. A neighbour thought they were attracted to the pyracantha I had growing on the back wall. Big fan of private (heated) washrooms 😂
Yet another fantastic video Nick. You have set the bar extremely high for the rest of us 😂. As a proud Welshman you continue to do a fantastic job as the Welsh Tourist Promotion Service, thanks mate. The Touring Park is one I have had on my list to visit for quite a while but still haven’t got there…..yet! The Red Kite feeding experience looked out of this world, that’s a must visit. Keep up your superb channel and Vlogs Nick they are simply stunning 👍
holy moly...i so want to visit wales and that is mainly because of your beautiful videography!!! i really enjoy your way of presenting your videos 😄 thank you and till next time
I agree that the RVA-2 is a great awning. The only downside is that, despite my best efforts to pitch it correctly, during very heavy rain there is “pooling” of water just above the central beam. Any tips? PS loved the video of Invercoe in Glen Coe - great site.
Yes that can happen if the awning isn’t highly tensioned. Once pitched I go round the awning and reposition the walls and pegs pulling the awning as tight as possible.

Great video Nick and you are a true ambassador for Welsh tourism 😂 I’m planning my future Welsh adventures due to your channel and amazing content. Many thanks
Absolutely brilliant 🤩 thank you for this. Been dreaming of a Basecamp for 2 years. Doing lots of research but this was my first video view. The one we viewed to check if we’d be happy with one was amazing and I knew then it was perfect for us. (Young 50 years olds 😂) What’s your thoughts on the glass on back door. Can’t decide if I need it or not when I do buy second hand. And does anyone know the difference between the specs - plus and plus 2? Or Basecamp 2 or Plus? Thank youuuu ❤
Hi Jane. Pre 2020 ish (don’t hold me to this) a Basecamp Plus had a solar panel and window in the back door where the standard Basecamp had neither. Post 2020 ish all Basecamp’s came standard with a window and solar panel. The window in the door allows a lot of light into the caravan and also quick viewing into the awning. A solar panel is an absolute must to ensure the leisure better is continuously trickle charged and also ideal of you intend to camp off grid.
Hi, Your videos have been a great help in researching buying a Basecamp 2. I pick mine up in a weeks time, looked for 2 years old but proved difficult. Ended up with a 2024 with 3k discount and motor mover and leisure battery included. can't wait. for a first awning do you have a recommendation ? I will be using it solo all year round. Thanks Craig also what is your tv ?
That sounds an absolute cracking deal. I really like the look of the newer models too. The TV is a Sharp 12v 24” smart TV. Search on Amazon for this:- amzn.eu/d/eTJDtg2 For an awning have a look at the WestField Travel Smart 200. It looks great on the back of a Basecamp. They can be picked up for around £200 used which is a bargain. I bought mine second hand and it had only been used a couple of times. I have reviewed it. Been to Scotland. Had a fantastic 10 days (Karen has posted about it on the Basecamp Facebook page). Only downside were the midges on the West coast (Oban). Regarding the app. Are you pro or pr+ Will compare to AllTrails
Ihave viewed many caravans and motor homes 2nd hand and their condition has prevented me buying one. Don’t know how the leisure industry get away with it
Nick - what can anyone say? Amazing photography, professionally presented and a beautiful trip out. You really have inspired me to purchase my first Basecamp and I simply love your trip reports. Thank you for all that you do. I can’t wait for the next one ❤️
Brilliant video as always it was great to reminisce as we stayed at the Morvich camp site last year as part of a 4 week tour of Scotland how did you find the state of the roads on Skye!!
Wow Nick, almost lost for words. Your cinematography skills took the stunning scenery to another level. I’m not surprised you were amazed being there and experiencing it first hand. Thanks for another fantastic video, always totally immersive. Thank you.
