Dude had this coming since giving Dariel the pink slip. I do pity him a little tho, as who doesn't get jealous if their own father, treats someone else more like a son then you. I kinda pity barshbaza a bit, it's largely his mother fault that he grow up like this, even his father also contribute a little to make him they way he is now, but then again his father is a military man he is super awkward and don't talk much but he is deep down a caring man just didn't know how to properly talk with bashbarza, he rarely at home because his duty in Frontline and him bringing Dariel in fuel barshbarza inferior complex to the max, in a twisted way Dariel and Barshbarza envy each other but both side can't talk shit to each other because their awkward disposition

I don't pity a man who is dumb enough to fire him but then order his people to basically work like slaves for a ridiculous amount of mithrial. Even if he wasn't looked upon as well as Dariel he acts as if he was completely shunned and cast aside.
Image that as father he raise talent trusted assistant to take care of his son so he can retire in peace then find out later that his son kick his trusted assistant out because of daddy issue
Jealousy is one thing. But he doesnt even try to improve. See how he introduced himself. Son of the Strongest Of the four Demons. Nothing in it shows what he is or is good at. Relying on a title to lord over someone is just dumb.
This may be a spoiler. But I believe he's an inexperienced young adult He had long idolized his dad and wish to be as respectable as him. However, his mother doesn't want that. If you read the comments above, you'll notice that his specialty is actually as a mage and scholar related skillset while Dariel who live in military camp side by side with Grandiele specialize in territorial management and relations affair. He is great in magic construction, research and execution and even manage to shorten new tool manufacturing that would take 7 years into 10 days. He specialize in different field than Dariel and he is very powerful in magiccraft. He improves himself in a different way and different method. It's like asking a biotechnology specialist to manage a battlefield as strategist. Like a fish asked to climb a tree, he's not in his element and know nothing about the new environment he is in. Is he a fool? Yes. Is he useless? No, he specialize in magic and by technicality a scholar. Is it foolish that he fire Darius because of jealousy? Yes, he judge by emotion, not rationality. Is it justified for him to lash out or treat Darius badly? No, Darius has done his best to help and get along with him. Is there anyone to blame for his attitude? No, he's shaped by miscommunication, misunderstanding and emotional distance creaged by obligations and circumstances. His mother is unintentionally neglected by his father as he always had to prioritize military affairs rather than spending time as family. This causes her to manipulate his choice of career, magecraft. Even after he's given her the honour as the best of his academy, she does not let him get to know his father because it means she'll be abandoned again. Darius, as a non-magic resident of the demon kingdom has nothing to have as accomplishment and Grandiele wish for him to remain as his son, thus bring him along in military affairs, making them constantly in contact with each other. Remember that he Idolize his father more than anything else and due to not sorting out feelings and communicate properly between the three, he became how he is now. He wanted his father and idol's love and recognition. It is rightful for him to be jealous but letting it cloud his judgement is not okay. But remember this, he is not one without effort. In other words, he's not arrogant without hard work that backs it. It was only because of a different environment and insight like fish out of the water.
@@suzukikarin4599 I know he is trying to win his father's favour. I never knew he specialized in production. But I do know he is a fool. His main topic of research is destruction. And his new gizmo requires such a ludicrous amounts of raw materials that production cant keep up. Which he then forced the miners to raise their quotas, and failure or rejection means death. Is that not idiotic? Is that not arrogant? Sure, you said he specializes in production. Then why isnt he take pride in that? Why does he keep flaunting his father's name? Jealousy? Sure. I give him that. But him being a d*ck to everyone else weaker, both in rank and status, is not due to jealousy. I read the novel. Tho I havent gotten that far, I still havent seen anything resembling him maturing.
