First off I want to say since 2012-2013 always dreamed of owning a candle business and because of your informative RU-vid channel recently, I was able to feel confident enough to jump in and give it a go! I’m so happy that you mentioned the wet spots lol! Although it’s normal I personally don’t like the look . But most of the time what I will do is place my label on top of the area where the wet spot is so it can cover it. Once gain Thank you for your transparency and willingness to help others navigate through this journey of candle making.

I'm a newbie, just received my first order over the weekend. I've watched TONS of videos the last few months and keep coming back to yours. They are so informative. I know through the FB group you are getting tons of questions, so whenever you get a chance I'd appreciate your "advice" lol. Just trying to do wax melts using Golden Wax 494 from Candle Science. Every one I've done so far has frosting. Pouring at 125-130. Any tips? What is the best wax for tarts that gives the best HT in your opinion with little to no frosting? Thanks so much for your help ! Love your videos !

Hello, can you please tell me @ what temperature do u recommend adding the fragrance to 464 soy ? I will greatly appreciate it. Love your videos, very informative

I am using the GW 464 soy wax and FO from Aztec Candle and noticed gritty or textured on the bottom and one on a side of the jelly jar... I wondering is this due to the FO not being mixed in enough before pouring or the temperature pour as well? Thank you for the helpful videos and information you share.

Hi, do you have any advice on how to name my candles? Ive read that candle companies like Yankee Candles have trademarked some of their candle names.. is there an easier way to see what names NOT to use for my candles? I want to be creative but I don’t want to accidentally use an unavailable name

Hello I got the answer to my question about what it means by 4627 464 or 6006 it's the type of wax, but I still like to know what you think about the joy wax coco apricot cream and the virgin coconut soy wax...Thank you

Can you explain more about what you were saying in regards to the melt pool needing to be And 1/8 of an inch or 1/4 of an inch. I’m new to candle making and I don’t understand exactly what’s being referred to when you say the melt pool needs to be that measurement. I guess I’m confused bc I’ve read a full melt pool should be achieved within 2-3 hours of burn time. To make sure I understand, does that mean the whole candle should be melted within that time frame, or does that mean just a full diameter of the candle should be melted within that time frame (not necessarily the entire candle in a vertical sense)?

Have you ever had a ripple? I only have a small area to work with, so when I've moved a candle at the point of the skin developing. ( top layer ) It forms a ripple on the top. I know, don't move them as it won't happen! How big was your first ever work area? I love using my heat gun, it is so satisfying to see these ripples level out.

Hi, I’ve got a question about what is going on when 100% soy (or close to 100% soy) candles burn in larger jar types. I make a triple wick that is about 5 inches wide, and when I pour the candle, it sets perfectly flat. However, after its first burn, it will never flatten again. Instead, there are weird inconsistencies in the wax and dips/holes.

I bought blue pillar candles from pottery barn that have white on the sides. I am a soap maker, and I thought it was just like soda ash. Sometimes in soap and for these candles, the white frosting added to the aesthetic. Does anyone, other than pottery barn, make candles like this intentionally as a favorable outcome? I am guessing the PB pillar candles have a frosting on the outside.

You want your melt pool to be an 8th of an inch or a quarter of an inch to what exactly? Can you please explain that to me more?

I had a quick question. How do you know what the fragrince oil is supposed to smell like when buying online. Also can they smell different when in a candle as apposed to straight out of the bottle?
@leilamessina9974
@leilamessina9974 4 года назад
you dont know, you just have to test it for yourself read reviews, ask people, , and yes it can smell differently in the candle!

It’s also why most suppliers sell 1 oz. samples ... and you see people but a LOT of them to try! It’s hard, but read the descriptions and reviews ... and get ready for a lot of testing!
@lov3allofme425
@lov3allofme425 4 года назад
wherewolf13 I agree with the replies you have so far. You have to purchase samples to test them out and read reviews. Also see if you have a local supplier and go in person to smell them😇

When calculating the amount of FO to use in your candles, for example 10% FO, for 16oz of wax, would you use 1.6oz of FO, so the total is 17.6? In this case, the amount of FO would actually be 9.09% Or would you use 14.4 oz of wax and 1.6 oz of FO, so the total is 16oz of both? This way the FO would be 10%.
