This is, by far, the best MIG29 navigation tutorial I foud. I was not used to fly with the kneeboard... Thx so much

Great Tutorial!. Just one thing though. that small horizontal line underneath the speed isn't speed deviation. Its more of an an acceleration bar. The arrow when it is left of the bar shows you are de-accelerating, in the middle it shows your current speed is more or less Normalized, and if the arrow is to the right of the bar shows you are accelerating :). Keep up the great tutorials on this lovely bird. Awesome work! Can't wait for the next. :D

First off thank you for great tutorials... I would like to add that HSI is the same as in F15 just more mathematical then visual, no need for knee-board to be on the path, only thing to do is to "push" direct heading line toward path line, so you start with putting direct heading line between your current heading and the path, this will move direct heading line toward the path line, as it moves toward the path you move your heading closer and closer holding direct path line between current heading and the path... you end up where you want to be without looking at knee-board... Hope I manage to explain it so it is understandable.... Again fantastic work, can't wait for next tutorial.

Beautiful!! I knew there we something I was missing. I'll add this to the next video. Thank you!

Yes, I did not say that in my comment but you are right, that angle is the angle to your flight path, so you can go maximum of 90 degrees, basically straight toward the path, this way direct heading indicator will move fast toward flight path as naturally angle between it and flight path will become smaller and will become 0 degrees as you cross flight path... as I said it is more mathematical but I like it, I fill much more in control then in f15 as i know how much degrees I am off and can decide how gentile or aggressive i want to approach the flight path... see next OverKill video he do address this very nicely :)

Excellent tutorial!!! You helped me a lot! It was very nice from you when you explained the MРШ. MРШ are cyrillic letters. M is M, P is R and Ш is Š, or SH. So MРШ is Maршута/ Maršuta/Marshuta. I hope that helped you as well as you helped me. :D

Good tutorials. Thank you for undertaking this. Concerning the ILS bars on the HSI. They only come into operation when landing on a runway equipped with the Russian ILS. That’s only about 6 (I think) in the Caucasus. It’s the ADI that indicates if you are on the course line and at the correct altitude. Check the two small circles. One at the top, one on the left. Each has a short line that bisects it, when you are on target-course line is the circle at the top, altitude the one on the left.

@OverkillSimulations 5 лет назад
Thank you for the compliment!! Yes, I knew that about the HSI which I thought I mentioned.. Might be mistaken. However, I did not know all the details about the ADI. However, I had read the course needle on the ADI wasn't very accurate.
@Flankertrainingcom
@Flankertrainingcom 5 лет назад
I don't think you mentioned the "Russian" part but I could be mistaken. Not so sure about the ADI accuracy bit. It's always seemed accurate enough. It mirrors the flight director circle and is actually a bit easier to make adjustments from once you're in the ball park.
@OverkillSimulations
@OverkillSimulations 5 лет назад
Oh!!! Only RUSSIAN ils... You are correct!! Thank you again!! I'll announce that in the next video!! That's a big one
@Flankertrainingcom
@Flankertrainingcom 5 лет назад
A bit more on the ADI...those two circles (required heading indicator across the top & required altitude indicator on the left) are for fine tuning once you are close to being on course. Until then you rely on the ADI's required bank indicator as well as the HSI, especially so if you lose the HUD for some reason.

That 2000 feet above ground level was gold here...!!! Otherwise... that retarded, redundant, overlooking the forest for the trees, roller coaster hill ride that the navigation system will default for you will have you more frustrated than the fly stuck in the window sill...!! I need to implement the altimeter pressure functions too...!! You also nailed the landing...!! Only the 3rd person I've seen be able to drag the tail with flare upon touch down in this module...!! I'm about to practice my landings in conjunction with Flankertraining's tutorial too..!!! Also practice bypassing the Phuq out of all unnecessary way-points at 2000 feet above ground level..!! 😜 Thanx...!! 😎

10:10 МРШ is short of Марш which is translated as marching or marching route. Letters will sound in English like M = M, P = R, Ш = Sh like in Shock or Sherman word.

Hello again ! Very great tutorial one more time. Yours are among the best on youtube (and i watched plenty). It is really appreciated as i'm training on Su-27 and Mig-29 (instruments are more or less the same on both). Clarified lots of things to me. Do you own the M2000C or Mig-21 modules ? I would love to find such good tutorials on these planes after the Mig-29 series. But nevermind, it will take time before I master the Su-27 or Mig-29. Thank you very, very, much for your excellent work. (Sorry for my english).

One more question : do you plan to make a tutorial on the use of radar and weapons for the Mig-29 ? Answer "yes" please !

Your English is perfect!! Thank you very much for the compliment! The next series will most likely be the m2000 or the ka-50 :) And yes!! The first video of the radar series will be posting tonight:)

@@OverkillSimulations Perfect ! I own both of them. I was frenzied by ED solds last year and I bought too much for the time I can invest in DCS. M2000C first please (that's my suggestion :D) as i'm french. But piloting an helicopter also interests me... but I would prefer to see M2000C as the Ka-50 seems more difficult to handle. Thank you for your kind reply. I wish a holy and healthy Christmas to you and your family ! God bless you.

I got a question. I'm going to land at an airfield, I call the tower & tell them I'm inbound. He gives me a heading & runway plus ALT. all that's cool but the heading I get is not real close to the airfield. So how does the Tower figure out the Heading. I go to the map or use the knee board to get the heading. So what up?

Nav mode I think means MRSh-short for Marshroute

I wouldn't say its easy to go around town in this thing, you would have to cut off the wings and make a car of it, then it's easier
