That's something you have to get used to. When I learn English, I had to deal with the similar thing - some of'em were easy to remember (play-played, pick-picked...) and some weren't (draw-drew, run-ran, go-went...). I didn't try that hard to memorize them, it's rather that I get used to them as I kept using and hearing those words.
my daughter is learning irregular past tense verbs now in her class and now I get it. When you're so accustomed to using the language, you forget that at one point you did not know certain things. So hopefully, I can have hope in learning a new language through repetition and practice.
Exactly! If you get used to hearing it everyday, then your brain slowly absorbs the information. It’s like, if your being surrounded by Koreans everyday, then you will naturally start to be able to speak and read Korean.
you single handedly just taught me this all in 11 minutes. I've paid so much on going to classes where they teach it in such a complicated way and all I had to do was watch an 11 minute video and save out on hundreds of pounds... Thank you so so much
Tae Tae i think instead of thinking of it as ranting, you may think of it as just voicing out how he plans to absorb the knowledge. We need to familiarize ourselves with the verb tenses through repetition
6:23 Someone, who is older than you, can be able to think that you are rude when you say like “갑시다, 봅시다, 합시다”. I recommend you that you use “가실까요? 보실까요? 하실까요?”. It means like “why don’t you go/see/do~?”. It may be better to encourage superiors in the form of questions in general.
@sarapeacefullife 봤니 and 봤냐 are just the same, you can choose whatever you feel like to say. And 봐라 (가라, 해라) is like asking or ordering someone to look (go, do). Thanks!
I wanna ask something hehe bcs I got little bit confused.. I saw on some kdrama, when they get "angry" they just say "해 그럼" which mean " do it then!" without addition of "라" . So whats the different? 😅
Suntae Kim 선생님 ^^. Your lesson is extremely good. I'm learning Korean by myself so you know, it was so hard ( sometimes I cried because i felt like i was stupid not to remember Korean words, grammar :(. and i was doing nothing good. Korean was so hard to reach ). Your lesson is truly an inspiration to me. Thank you very much. I can't express my gratitude for you, an extremely good teacher. I study law but korean is one of my goal. I'm trying everyday just to understand this language. Thank you ^^.
That's a good question. I chose those three verbs because they're probably three most common verbs in Korean. Some verbs with ㅗ like 보다 놓다 돌다 쏘다, their original past forms are 보았다 놓았다 돌았다 쏘았다 - 보았다 & 쏘았다 normally get shorten as 봤다 & 쐈다. I can go further about this but it would be too long, so I'll just put some examples. 사다-샀다 타다-탔다 자다-잤다 만나다-만났다 감다-감았다 알다-알았다 팔다-팔았다 나서다-나섰다 건너다-건넜다 벌다-벌었다 얼다-얼었다 주다-주었다(줬다) 두다-두었다(뒀다) 불다-불었다 풀다-풀었다 품다-품었다 As for the 하다-했다 one, it's another long story.
I feel like this program is a turning point for me, you present this information in the same way my brain needs to relate to it, I feel as if I’m starting to get it a little bit! Finally!!!
i started to learn Korean few weeks ago and i just found that your channel is very useful for beginner like me. Thank you very much for making this for us! :-)
I am a beginner in learning Korean and I got this from the first time. The way you explain makes it easy to understand, thank you so much for your effort and making these helpful videos
Thank you very much. This was very helpful. l plan on watching all your videos to help me in my study of the Korean language. 감사합니다 Shukran (thank you in Arabic) - From an Arab American Muslim Lady
I had been searching for a course like this for weeks, but I had not able to find a course, that covers different tenses and different forms of polite and normal together, until I found your channel, you have made learning Korean much easier and enjoyable with the classification that you have done, thank you so much for such a thorough course .
I actually take more than an hour watching each of your videos because i take notes and I find everything so informing in a way ! I love and appreciate this so much
I think that during my loong journey of trying to understand korean verbs forms.. no one can compare to this one. Thank you so much. U resumed all the possible forms we can ever meet in one video with a very well structured and organized method. Keep up the hard work!
The simplicity of this video!! You explain everything is such a simple and easy way for beginners like me to understand. I'm a month into learning Korean and although I can understand some of what I hear and can read short sentences, the verb variations went over my head a little until I found your channel. Thanks so much for this content!!
You are great at explaining grammar! I am a Spanish teacher, and I have been so confused with Korean grammar. Every time I watch your videos, rules become easier and easier. Amazing work! Thanks.
Discovering your videos now. This & others are excellent!! Love the way you conjugated & explained the verbs, even in the honorifics! Really good!! 👍🏻👏🏻 Thank you!! ☺️
to better describe the (으)ㄹ래 form, you can say "intend to" so for example 내가 갈래 would best translate to "i intend to go" that's how i learned it. great job with your videos btw, i really enjoy watching them i find them very helpful. keep up the great work!
It's perfect just the way he's doing it and everyone has different variations to speech... Always say if you want to critique start your own channel, but I think it's perfect.... Texans and Californians don't talk the same way but we both speak English
thank you for this! i’ve been having trouble on knowing which verb to use in a situation. this makes so much sense! i appreciate all the hard work that must go into these videos. thank you so much for the free korean lessons! 김사합니다 선생님!!
I'll say that i am currently learning hangul, (beginner) and although it may SEEM hard, compared to the English language, the Korean language is a breeze. Though my tongue is still trying to get used to the sounds, your video breaks it all down in such a simplistic way I am just amazed. it makes hangul feel more attainable. Thanks for your fine, fine work. I am now very motivated to learn more.
I was looking for a good video on explaining korean grammar, and I'm so glad I found this. Like, your videos are GREAT. Keep up the good work and thank you!
This is so clear and easy to understand. I am still learning Hangul and after I finish I am definietly going to watch them in order. Thank you so much.
OMG! Its 10 years old video and now this is in my recommendation🙂and i am so happy now because i really want to learn Korean!and he is explaining everything so perfect😊so happy with this channel☺💜
I love these videos!! I don't think they are too confusing and I feel that they are simplified, as someone said previously. English is my first language and this is how I was taught. The only difference is the polite form, which is not bad at all. For me, knowing that there are many ways to say the same thing, takes a little of the pressure off from being scared to be wrong or offend someone. A lot of these words I've heard many times in Korean movies, tv shows and songs. I'm so excited about learning. Thank you Conversational Korean for making these videos!!!
Thank you so much for this easy learning channel ! I just discovered it today as I want to learn Korean and I really learnt things !! Thank you soo much
Thank you so much for making this so understandable ! :) I'm trying to learn as much korean as I can because I'll visit the country in September and your video explained those verbs variations in a more easy way than in the book I have :) Thanks again!
i've been watching kdramas for a long time i can understand korean more but i suck at writing but this is well simplified and easy to understand thanks for the good content from Morocco
This is an amazing and easy to understand lesson! (Though I almost cried when you switched from 반말 to polite form....because there is sooooooo much to remember! But at the end it was not that tough!) If you have time please make a video concerning verb endings (like..-.면, -니까?) Thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!
