Please I want to ask ..I always cut befor with freehand but now I’m learning to use pattern ..but I never knew a basic body have dart at the back..so pls if I want to make a basic bock without the dart manipulation..will there be dart at the shoulder?I only know of wist darts at the back ..
Hi there, Sorry I thought I replied you since, well having shoulder dart at the back, depends on the method you use in drafting the pattern, for Natalie Bray and most standard methods you might have it, but then after drafting you can mark it on the shoulder point, blend into the armhole and cut it out, you don’t have to sew it on your garment. I hope this answers your question thank you
Hello there, thanks a lot I’m glad you enjoyed the tutorial, so if you have the size chart and look well you’ll see that for each size there is a 4cm difference meaning if your bust is like 76cm then you can work with the figures for bust 80. If the difference is more than 4cm then you can mark 2cm for point o and subtract 0.5cm from the rest of the figures on the size chart.
Hi @adeleedwards149 I think you should use try out the pattern using muslin or any cheap fabric to check the fit first. But if you’re convinced that it will be small lower the front and back armhole by 1-2cm.
Sorry about that 🥺 point o is the same as bust point. I get the working in cm can be a little confusing at first, but I believe you’ll get it with practice. You can ask and I’ll explain the parts you didn’t get and thanks for pointing it out. I appreciate your feedback
