This is a typical interlock of metal shingles. The minimum required pitch on most of these products is 3:12 and these products have been tested for watertightness at that pitch.

@@KasselandIrons Why don't you use titanium screws instead of nails?👀 (fastenal will sell them in bulk.)

@@dalehall2993 Our uplift testing has all been done with ring shank nails in order to test “worst case scenario”. If installers wish to upgrade to screws, though, they may do so and it’s our experience that building inspectors have found that to be acceptable.

That allows them to see the financial benefit of metal roofing in terms of energy savings and increased home value. Of course, they also enjoy increased home protection and beauty. A quality metal roof will be 2 - 4 times the cost of standard shingle roofing, depending upon the exact situation and the product being installed. I hope this helps.
