3:50 the scherzo of Tchaikovsky’s third has some forte muted string writing, in particular it’s sounds so cool at the end of the trio where all the muted strings are playing these really wide shimmering arpeggios!
Great video, I love the timbre of muted strings! In terms of orchestral (film music) examples, I believe Bernard Hermann’s Prelude to “Psycho” is muted with a forte dynamic in many sections. I can’t think of a concert example right now though!
