I have watched many, many videos on wire wrapping. I often had difficulty trying to follow what wrap they were doing. As I watch you, it was a lightbulb moment as it suddenly made sense. Thank you for an easy-to-follow tutorial!
Pretty awesome for your first tutorial, to be honest. I like how you use a plain, light-colored background, and the brighter-toned wire for demonstration, as well as nice bright lighting. This makes it so much easier for us older folks to make out what your fingers are doing each time. Very much appreciated!
i love this video and all videos about learning to do wire weaves, thank you so much for making this video about wire weaving patterns, your contribution, is valuable to me i have been making wire jewelry for 5 years now, but ive only learn a little wire weaving so far, i want to learn more, and so i really appreciate your video tutorials about this subject, also i really loved your wire weaving patterns that you showed, and how different they are. they are so good, and looked beautiful, thank you. If this is your first tutorial, I'm looking forward to seeing more. Very well done, great explanations and closeups and I've been watching a LOT of wire wrapping tutorials.
You are a very good instructor! I am looking forward to trying all these patterns. Just one question … your 26 gauge wire, how do you keep it off to the side? On a spool? Do you unwrap quite a bit of it before you begin weaving?
I love your tutorial I come back to it every time I start a new project. Yours is my favorite! I would only suggest time stamps so we can go to the exact pattern we are looking for. 🥰
I so want to learn how to do this! Glad I found your channel. I make journals mainly. Love all kinds of crafts! New subbie here, would love to be crafty RU-vid friends! Tfs. Inspired to get started, have to watch more of your videos.
Hey Arnetta, bail-making pliers are not so good for holding wire. Although these wire weaving patterns are not complicated and you might be able to make them with bail-making pliers, I recommend you using chain nose pliers. They are perfect for gripping and manipulating wire.
I just found your channel. Just went back to working with wire in my jewelry and was looking for easy tutorials. Your video is so easy to follow and helped me a lot. Yook a bunch of notes. Lol. I do have a question, what is the smallest gauge of wire you can use for the base (here you use 20). Can I use 22 or 24 or even thicker (18, 16, etc)? How about the one you use to wrap, can I use 28 or 30? Thanks so much for sharing
Thanks 😊💗 Usually, for base wire I use 18 and 20 gauge, which I combine with 26 gauge weaving wire. Of course, you can use 16 or 22 gauge for base wire depend on your design. For weaving wire, you can use 24-26 gauge on 16-20 gauge, and 26-30 on 18-22 gauge. 28-30 gauge are extremely thin. If you use them on 16-18 gauge base wire, it will take much more wire for weaving and it kinda looks strange. For coiled coils, I normally use 28-30 gauge on 22-24 gauge. For bails, I recommend you to use 26-28 gauge on 18-20 gauge. If I make bail on two base wires, I use 18 gauge. If it's on 3,4 or more wires, I use 20 gauge or I combine 18 and 20 gauge. Experiment and have fun! 😉
Hi. Am glad I found your channel. Tnx for this video. It was very helpful. Is it okay to share a project I have been trying to replicate but can't seem to understand how the beads and wire were woven together
Thanks a lot😊💖 Please check this tutorial: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KtG1DUP29m0.html In this tutorial, you will learn how to make a wire-weaving pattern using small beads on 2 base wires.
Hi Samantha, consider using dead soft wire for wire weaving and wire wrapping. It's very malleable and easy to bend. Protective finger tape is another good option. Cheers! 💗
hi, you just need a few pliers and wire. In this video, you can see my favorite pliers. I have more pliers, but I make my jewelry mainly with these pliers. I placed a link (in the description of the tutorial) where you can buy them from. Regarding the wire: for base wire, you can use 18 gauge and 20 gauge wire. For weaving wire - 26 gauge and 28 gauge. Happy weaving! 😘 Please check out my tutorials ru-vid.com/group/PL-HTAhL6TJVC8na3LdsDAD5QkDNxWXcMV
I don’t think I completely understand and it’s mostly because I’m half blind but I’m definitely gonna keep watching your videos because I wanna make these do Thank you so much ☺️
Thank you, Virginia! 💖 I will make a simpler tutorial on wire weaving patterns. I believe that soon you will be making beautiful wire wrapped jewelry. Stay tuned for more videos. 😘
Hi, If you mean that the pendant catches your hair, simply snug the ends of the wire with the pliers. Please let me know if this answers your question.
I don't apply glue. I prefer to secure the pendant by snugging the ends of the wire or insert them between other wires and then push tightly into place.
Hey Alina, don't get discouraged. I am working on a wire-weaving tutorial for beginners. It will defiantly help you solve this problem. I will publish it soon. Stay tuned 😘
This is a beautiful work! Congratulations! I´m trying to weaving lately, but I´ve found it not easy. Take a look at my channel snd leave your coment, please. Thank you!
you work too quickly and i cant see what you are wrapping from the end of the wire. for beginners, you need to work slowly and explain every step. even playing it over and over, it is still not clear.
