Oddly they always get the location wrong as far as where it is going to be a direct hit . I don’t think this will hit land as the monster it is predicted to be .
Totally agree with you, they did that on the east coast in 1992 when Andrew was barreling towards Miami as a cat.5. Slight wobble to the right and Homestead was wiped off the map, only time I've ever seen southbound disappear and every lane was northbound,the evacuation route. Plenty of secondary roads for responders to go south. Worked like a charm!

Tampa-St.Pete,Sarasota and the Barrier Islands are going to bear the complete brunt of Milton . All that major debris is going to go everywhere and many smaller homes will be destroyed or just float away. Honestly I would hate to have been the ones who chose to stay in homes or businesses to ride this out . Foolish decision batter seeing what Helene did . People drowned in their homes and the water is going to surpass 1 st floor’s entirely . This time. 10-14 feet where Helene was 6Feet .
