i have a quesion. so last night i was ordering dye powders. when i read the individual descrpition of each, some had me confused. they said you had to use the dye in a bath of bomb powder-baking soda, citric, and corn starch, then add dye and activate with water? witch hazel whatever and then ????let it dry, then use it at another time for bombs? i dont get it? then i would have old powder, what do i then add liquid stuff all over again. ugh i am so confused?
Sounds like what they are talking about is blooming your dye into the baking soda. I have a video out on how to bloom dyes, but it’s basically just putting a little bit of water in a container and adding your dye to bloom it. Once it is completely bloomed, then you would add that to your baking soda. Mix it up put it out on a baking sheet to dry overnight and then the next day you have bloomed baking soda to use in a bath bomb mix, so that no additional colorant is needed. Yes, in the beginning of the video that’s exactly what I was doing. I was sifting the bloomed baking soda that I had made the day before.
so disappointed. so last night i made 2 batches of bombs, and ugh most of them failed. :( in the morning most were cracked and crumbley. so, i didnt throw them out, i made some mason jars with bomb crumble. smell amazing-did cinnamon for valentines day. anyway, bombs are a pain in the arse!
