PIKO shows us how to build a building kit step-by-step.
This video will walk you through building one of the hundreds of PIKO building kits. The video also provides tips on what you will need and things you might want for building models. Not only does building a kit yourself give you more options, it saves you money and can give you great ownership in your garden railroad while allowing you to make sure every joint is glued just the way you want it. (This video even covers how to glue your building for long term use outdoors!) Building kits can even give you great quality time with friends or family.
We go step by step building through assembling PIKO #62103: Bait & Tackle Shop which can be easily converted into a number of other structures for your garden empire.

This video was a big help. I recently purchased and assembled the Beer Garden Cafe. The main structure took me most of a day to build. I have completed three coats of Piko Fix per Jonathan’s recommendation, I have one more coat to do. The light weathering from the factory gives it a nice patina. As an experienced HO modeler, I do use sprue cutting pliers to remove the parts from the tree. I’m impressed by the clean mold lines, most pieces required little-to-no trimming and cleaning prior to fitting. The model also has a nice finished weight to it. Thank you Piko!

Scott, we are glad this video was useful to you - and that you are happy with the quality of the building kit! We do our best to design great things from the beginning, so consumers get a great quality that lasts. Enjoy your PIKO trains, track and buildings! (Don't be afraid to share some images or video with us. Who knows, maybe we will share some on social media sites!?)

Very neat, i recently purchased the Rosenbach Train station and it looks great! Just kind of unfortenate there is no weathering on the building. Also some parts were really difficult to cut loose. Nothing to noteworthy but might be inportant to know.

While most of our buildings have a weathering wash, not all do. As for cutting pieces from the sprues... since these buildings were made for the rigors of outdoor use, sometimes the sprue they are attached to have to be a little larger than our HO and N-Scale buildings. Usually a good push from a sharp hobby knife will do the job. With a little care in gluing, as mentioned in the video, you should be able to enjoy your buildings for years and years and years and... :)
