So sorry about your loss. I love animals and it takes me a long time to get over their passing. The world we live in needs more love and consideration for all beings. Peace. Love. Kindness NEEDED for all and Mother Earth. You're my favorite on RU-vid. I've been following you for years. I have peace watching your videos. You're a beautiful lady inside and out. Thank you for all you show us. Thank you!!
I’m so sorry for your loss Jeri. I am praying for your heart to be comforted . Poor Godfrey. 😢 I believe that God loves us so much that he is keeping your pup Gabriel in Heaven waiting for you and Godfrey someday.❤
Jeri, I am so sorry about your sweet Gabriel 😢. The speed limit by my home is also 15 mph with a school across the street; many cars fly by….I truly fear for the children. We do our best to encourage people to slow down, but many drivers ignore our plea. Hugs dear friend 🙏❤️
Jeri, Thank you for sharing about your loss with us. It helps so many of us. There is something so precious about sisterhood and sharing life and feelings!!!
May you all be comforted. Thank you for sharing your home and garden and animals. Your zone is about what ours is, so it's nice to see similar plants and get ideas.
Oh, I'm so sorry about your beloved pet. I know all about that loss. Too recently for us too. We lost a Black Lab in 2021. We believe he was chasing a deer and ran through the overgrown grass on the edge of the highway. Our property has frontage on a highway and the speed limit there is 75mph. We believe he died instantly. He was only out of our sight for a few minutes! He was a trained hunting dog. My husband was training him and they were so very close. We both were, but especially hubby, was very heartbroken. We live rurally too, so yes we know the heart break of losing animals. I am so sorry you're going through this again, but what a blessing that we have the pleasure of their company in the first place. Hubby was so heartbroken, he was saying he didn't want to get another dog. I told him he needed to. He didn't buy that dog as a pet or mate, but as a hunting tool, not much different than buying a tractor or a mower or any other piece of farm equipment. He thought about it and agreed. He called the breeder and to our amazement the breeder actually still had a brother to our first dog, so we purchased him. His name is Bear. We adore him too, though he is very different than his brother, despite them both being black labs. Bear is actually more suitable for us, much more calm than his brother. Thank you for sharing your garden too! Everything looks so beautiful. I am starting basil from seeds. They're still very tiny though. Thank you again for all you share with us.
Sad to hear about your puppy. I've recently lost a much loved cat. The points you made are important. Too many vehicles are driven way too fast. I'm far too acquainted with losses of this kind. I hope you find Godfrey a companion. You see sadness in their eyes. Your place is looking lovely... the bluebells, simply delightful.❤
Jeri, your nesting box is genius and so pretty. I’m a country gal too. I have two wishes today, one that I could hug you for real for the loss of Gabriel (it is so hard🤗🤗🤗) and the other is that I can be your neighbor. I would be right at home and can just imagine myself sitting on that delightful porch of yours and I would spend hours enjoying your garden. Blessings dear friend from far away….🙏🏻♥️🌹
So sorry for the loss of your puppy and the other animals too 💔❤️. I hate how fast people drive. I always say a prayer when I pass by a squirrel, bird or skunk that’s been hit. Reminds me to drive slower near homes. They have homes among us too
Oh dear I’m so so sorry about your puppy Gabriel 😢it’s so hard to lose anyone 💔sending hugs…our mountain road is just like that and we always say “they must be trying out for Bristol Speedway”! Thank for sharing your animals gardens and lovely home 💖🌿
So sorry for your loss. I have lost dogs in the past due to cars. I know it’s hard. I pray the Lord helps you and blesses you and your husband get through such a devastating loss. 💖🙏
It’s so heartbreaking to lose a pet especially in that manner! I’m so sorry for your loss, I had beautiful Pekingese pup several years ago that was hit by a car and the saddest part was it was done deliberately I was devastated and I don’t know how he got loose! I had put him out on leash because I didn’t have a fenced yard and I had gone out to check on him and he was sleeping so I thought I would leave him out for a bit longer I don’t think it was 10 minutes later I got a knock on the door! The neighbor told me she saw them deliberately run him over! I couldn’t believe it I just checked on him, I held him in my arms and cried for hours. But I know will see Sebastian again one day.
I’m so heartbroken for you and James. Gabriel was such a beautiful puppy. I remember when I first saw Godfrey and then Gabriel and how precious they were. I was so excited for you and when my husband came home I showed him the video and then I showed my daughter. They were just the cutest little white fur babies. I’m so sorry for your loss. The tips for basil are going to be put to good use at my house. Love and prayers ❤
Jeri, I am terribly sorry to hear about your precious pup, may God comfort your hurting heart at this time. My heart truly goes out to you. Thank you for sharing it with us, and for sharing your garden and rustic nesting box, that's great! The snoring is hilarious, cute Liam! Sending love and hugs!
So sorry for the loss of your friend. They add so much to our lives. I drive for a living. I am always aware of the speed limits and especially when I drive into neighborhoods where there could be children and animals, Be well Jeri Landers, I have been watching you for years and I even have copied some of your decorations for my own garden.
I’m very sorry for your loss. It is so sad & lonely for us as well as our other fur babies that mourn like we do. Your animals, birds & insects add so much to your home, gardens & videos. ❤️
So, so sorry.😞 Problem, too, is so much growth in population even in the country nowadays, especially here in the south. Land is getting bought up & homes being built like I’ve never seen in my 70 yrs of living here in GA. More homes, more people, more traffic & noise. 😢
Where we live now, the previous owner sowed, I think, purple and green ruffle basil, that comes back every year. It is starting to appear now and I have not had to grow any basil for 5 yrs. since moving in. I make pesto, dry it, use it fresh, and it is delicious. God is good and I am thankful he has provided free basil for me. Everything in your place looks lush, green and vibrant. We also have speedy, reckless drivers on our rural road. Sorry about Gabriel. 3 years ago I lost my wonderful jersey cow, raised from a calf, to oak poisoning. I was blessed to have her 10 yrs and all her wonderful milk. I still miss her. Hard not to get attached to them. Always a pleasure. In Joy
One of my hardest losses was actually a one-eyed goose I had from a gosling. She was so crazy, a real tough guardian goose with one eye! She had a soft side however, and loved me so much. Whenever she heard my voice she'd come running across the meadow, I would sweep her up in my arms and carry her around the yard. Unfortunately she thought that cars were an enemy, and took to chasing the wheels of our vehicles when we had to pull into the yard. She ran right under the wheel one day and that was that. I cried for 3 days.
Oh, Jeri, I remember seeing the two young dogs playing together in a previous video. My heart goes out to you. Yes, that looks like fritillary (sp) mine is up and it is pink. Let me know if you need some. Beautiful job on the nesting box, very fancy. 💛
I watched that video last night of Gabriel playing in the snow... couldn't watch it for long, too sad. Did you notice in the video that the Bellflower seed you sent is growing? Much bigger today. I am so frustrated with that Fritillaria, I don't know why it never comes up!
The chicken nesting box is wonderful. You are always so creative. I'm so sorry about your dog. It's really traumatic to lose a pet because they are part of the family. We have a pet cemetery in our backyard complete with head stones and monuments. It's silly but it keeps them in our hearts.
Hi Jerri. I'm so sorry for your loss as an animal lover this really hurts our hearts. Is there any way you can put up some cautionary signs? I know ppl will still speed but some may be reminded to go slower when passing your home. RIp Gabriel.
The 15 MPH sign is right in front of our house, as is a SCHOOL sign, because the little Elementary school is around the bend. I don't think it would matter to the speeders.
I am so very sorry about your sweet Gabriel and your ducks and geese. I will pray for comfort and strength for you all. I had a sweet little dog that was hit by a car in front of me. The driver was going fast and didn’t stop. So sad to lose an animal to a senseless act. On a side note, thank you for all that you share. I so look forward to your videos as you are my favorite channel! Take care and God bless you. ❤
So sorry to hear about lovely Gabriel. We also live on a country road but as it is the route to the coast, has alot of traffic on it. It is supposed to be 30 by our cottage but most people do 70. As a result our cats are only allowed to go out on a lead x
For some reason, of which I am very pleased, our 2 kitties don't go near the road. They stay on the Good side of the fence and head in the other directions into the woods or the barn....(where they spend most of the day!) Glad your cats are safe.
the nesting box for Ruby & the four others is so adorable and your creativity never ceases to amaze me. thank you for making my sunday morning with your vlog. ps -i can understand your loss and I am truly sorry. driving slow is so important as there are very few situations when one needs to speed.
I am so sorry for your loss Miss Jeri.. I lost my 17 year old chow mix in January and I think of her every day. My heart breaks at the tragedy your beautiful farm and family has endured. May God give you peace in this time. He saw the senseless driving of that person and will deliver justice! When my Daisy passed, I was so filled with grief, but found a study explaining when God restores creation, he may restore animals lives that we so dearly miss or who endured suffering just as us people waiting to be restored are. It helped me a lot ❤ take care for now
Most of our dogs and cats have lived very long happy lives and we were comforted by that when they died. This chap had a lively, happy life too, but it was so short, he was only a year old. I do hope that animals will be in the new creation; Isaiah says something about the wolf lying down with the lamb and the leopard lying with the young goat, etc.
Hi. Jeri. We watched this video on our TV as soon as you posted it. I need to come here to say that I am so so sorry for you, your family, and Godfrey. This must be so hard. Sending love from here . ❤️🙏🏻
❤ Jeri ..I'm sorry for your loss.... can you ask the town to allow a sign? "SLOW..ANIMAL CROSSING" or something like that Just a thought.. Always love your videos and your sharing .. Aways inspired!!! And Im back to gardening. ❤
Im so sorry you lost Gabriel. I do know how muchnit hurts. God bless you all during your time of sorrow. Beautiful video as usual, and thank you for letting us know how to keep our badil alive.
So sorry for the loss of Gabriel. Always sad to lose an animal. But I'm convinced he lived his best life with you ❤️🌷. (Why do people drive so fast... 😢.) Sending a big hug.
Eggs in a cat bed, how funny is that. I have Lucy, my cat, she likes to curl up in flower pots I haven't emptied the soil out yet. I stick old plastic forks in the planted pots. As you say yourself, "Chin up". Gabriel is in Dog heaven and Godfrey has his Hopalong Hollow. We're all blessed.
Oh Jeri, I am so sorry about Gabriel. Heartbreaking when you love your abundant so much. Praying for Godfrey and Liam and you and James, that you may be comforted. 💔
Oh my gosh. I do wish people would be more aware of their surroundings and SLOW down. So very sorry that this happened, sweet Gabriel. pretty animals. Take care. ❤🙏✝️🇺🇸
Oh Jeri, I'm so sorry to hear such sad news. It makes me feel angry for you that the collision could have been avoided if the driver was within the speed limit. 🥺 I pray the Lord will comfort you, your husband and Godfrey. 🙏 Sending hugs
Dear Ann, I'm so sorry about Gabriel. Last October 25 we had to have the vet euthanize our precious little boy, George. We were both devastated. However, a friend, Marcie, is a pet communicator and psychic. She told me that George wanted to come back to be with me and that he was waiting to see how my health issues were going to turn out before coming back. She didn't know at the time that I was going to have to have coronary by-pass surgery. She said she would help us locate George when the time was right. We found a breeder in PA who breeds Golden Retrievers. 3 months ago we drove 3 hours to PA to see his puppies. I sat in the pen and this one little puppy climbed on my chest; looked me in the eyes and I SWEAR he said, " don't you know me? Don't you recognize me?" ! I found George. We brought him home and are a complete family again. I'm sharing this with you to say that if you send the message into the universe that you want Gabriel to return to you he will find a way to get back. There isn't a doubt in my body that George has returned to us! Oh...our new puppy's name? George, of course! What else would I call him? He's GEORGE! Thank you for all of the beautiful videos that you share with all of us. Your perfectly imperfect pal...Randy Watts.
Oh Jeri... I'm so sorry for your loss. I agree people need to slow down when driving on roads that clearly have speed limits. I lost 3 ducks last year due to fast driving. And I saw it happen and they kept going and never stopped. Your gardens are absolutely Beautiful. So full of color. Have wonderful weekend Jeri ❤ God Bless You 💕🙏
Oh Jeri, I was so saddened to hear about your much loved puppy Gabriel. Although he was taken too soon, you gave him the best puppy life. God Bless him. Sending prayers of comfort 🙏♥
I am so sorry for the loss of your animals. I live in the tri-state area and people drive like maniacs! Thank you for sharing the tip you learned. Unfortunately, I just lost my store-bought basil. I’ll know for next time!
Hugs, Jeri 😢 so sorry to hear about your doggy Gabriel. I understand how you feel. You have my deepest sympathy. I love your program and look forward to every episode. Take care.
My heart and deepest sympathy on the loss of your dog, Gabriel. Good warning to heed. Why the hurry, especially when driving? Thank you for the basil tip. Called out to my frustrated husband to watch video as he experiences the withering and dying of the store bought basil. That nesting box is Country Elegance and classic Hopalong Hollow style!
ohh Jeri hugs hugs, So very sorry.. I totally understand your hurting heart. We live on a country road and like you said drivers just fly down this road not only for the animals safety , we do live in an Amish area with horse & buggies. Your chicken house is so charming! Your gardens are looking great, I have been pulling and pulling weeds ! Hugs & Blessings , love Paula
Jeri, I am thinking about you and your husband. I do not understand why people think it is cool to disregard laws (speed limit). Perhaps your county could install speed bumps on your road. This sometimes makes speeders slow down.
Jeri, saddened to hear about the accident of your fur baby. It is painful loosing a pet, they truly do become part of our family. We lost our Dixie (cat) last June after loving her for 14 years and still miss her to this day. She had cancer. I am so sorry. Good to know about splitting up the basil plant. Love your porch.
So sorry about your puppy. I know how hard that is as I’ve lost many animals. I’m not sure if you have coyotes in your area, but if you do, it changes things. About 15 years or so ago, they started coming in our area. Before that I could leave my chickens and ducks out when I was around; otherwise, I kept them in a big pen. However, when they started coming around, they would snatch chickens/ducks as well as people’s cats. My neighbor said she even saw one climb a fence. Thus, I regretfully don’t let my animals out anymore. It’s hard, and I cannot really be mad at the coyotes, as they actually are a sign that our ecosystem is improving and if you think about it, their lives are very hard too. Everyone around me has a fenced in yard, so they are just trying to get by. My neighbor actually saw one eating apples from her tree. Anyway, if you do have them, just to be safe and based on my experience, I would not leave any of my animals out unsupervised for any length of time. It’s hard I know, but might prevent future heart aches and worries.
I have a 15 mi speed limit sign right in front of our house and it doesnt stop anyone from slowing diwn or being mindful. Seen a few tragedies.. They just keep going like its nothing. I pity those heartless types, not you, hon. *big hug* Your gardens are awakening, Jeri! I love Spring. Its the best time to collect those "weeds" for medicinal winter teas. 🤗
💔 It is so heartbreaking. They leave such a gaping hole! I just wish there was a way to slow the drivers down with speed bumps or dips. I send my deepest sympathies and fully understand your pain. Loving the beautiful flowers you've got going, and thanks for sharing your garden on a pretty sunny day. The nesting box is fantastic! I bet it's nice having it closer to the house too. Although, I wouldn't mind one bit a casual country stroll to the barn and back each day! ❤
Oh no! I’m so very sorry to hear about Gabriel!!! My heart just broke listening to your story. I know that feeling all too well, as I live on a road where no one pays any attention to the speed limit, and coming home to find one of my pets. I’m so glad you have your other sweet babies to comfort you. Blessings sweet Jeri, and may time heal ♥️
My condolences to your dog. Our cat also was hit by a car and died some years ago ...she was only about a year old. I still can't forget that loveliness. That child was definitely part of our family. I sincerely hope that accidents like this will no longer occur. And bon courage Jeri.
So sorry about your little dog, Gabriel. It makes me mad that people don’t go even close to the speed limit and some don’t seem to care. What can we do? It doesn’t pay to stay angry so I guess we have to forgive which seems like a process. You have such a good attitude. ❤️🙏❤️
Such heart breaking news Jeri. I also seem to be the one on my road looking out for all the critters and small children. People just keep speeding and driving recklessly these days, with no regard for the laws. Please know that you and all your pets are in my thoughts.
I have missed seeing your videos as you are one of my kindred spirits. So sorry about your darling Gabriel and your other feathered friends. We understand, we have been there and we feel your pain. Sending love ❤️
Dear Jeri, I am sorry and sad for your loss. This is an important message to speed demons to just slow down! On average you might save 2 or 3 minutes by speeding. It is not worth endangering others and yourself.
I am so sorry for your loss. So many people moving out of the cities. Maybe the town will consider a speed bump. Hope you can convince them as they hear what has happened to your once peaceful road and your beautiful pup. Too bad you’re not closer to an emergency vet.
Hi Jeri ❤ It just so happens I also bought basil from the supermarket. Thank you for your advice. I love basil do much. So healthy too. I love to listen to the sounds of your in your garden it is therapeutic to the soul. I'm very sorry for the loss of your dog. May you find comfort in the memories he left.
So sorry for your loss. I've had animals most of my life and they are all family. I have VA bluebells and my granddaughters middle name is Bluebell. God bless you
I am so very sorry about your dog. That is so heartbreaking. Maybe the police can put one of those thing out that show people the speed they are traveling, so encourage them to slow down. Thank you for the basil tip 🤗.
I lived more than 30 years in the country on a rural road. I had the same problem with the traffic. We, too, were a path up the mountain. I was fortunate not to lose any pets because to the traffic . We lived well back from the road. We did lose a pet that way living in the house before that one, but she had wandered well away from home and got hit. It's a hard way to lose a family member. Why she wandered so far is a mystery because we were surrounded by farmland. Anyway, all of this is to say that I know how you feel and I'm sorry. Thanks for the basil tutorial.
The ladies are so cute and I love the nesting box you made them! They seem to love it too! I am also very sorry to hear about your pup. It really is heartbreaking to lose a pet, to lose animals that become part of our daily life and bring us love and joy. Prayers for peace and comfort.
