Hi Jeri! I also love your chicken stories! I just love watching you. How are your poppies doing? I tried them for the first time. One died and one lived. But the stems just fall down. Is that normal? Thanks for all your knowledge. I can't have chickens in my subdivision. I still sympathize with you. Thanks for all your fun videos.
That Rooster is the most handsome I've seen. I don't have chickens but we have a gazillion (exaggeration time) feral cats (at least 20 and now there's more kittens running about). I lay chicken wire over my flower and veggie beds or they become kitty litter boxes. They think everything is for them. Also have to deal with raccoons, opossums, skunks and I'm not in a rural or country area. I can't grow sunflowers or the raccoons try to climb the stalk and break them. I had a hummingbird feeder hanging near the back fence and every day it was empty. Put out a trail camera and a raccoon climbed the fence, grabbed the pole to bend toward him with one hand and with the other hand, he turned the bottle upside down and slurped up the sugar water as it poured out, so I had to move it.
My sweet Jeri I just received your beautiful card”Meadow Maidens” and your lovely note and a very special flower seeds of Dahlia . I’m so so happy and I’m going to plant them in my garden. Thank you so much ❤️ Yvette ❤️🫶🌺🌸🌼🌹
Sweet chickens😊 Is the lupine you planted perennial or annual? I planted annual; it grew about two inches then just stopped, while everything else around it is growing fine - in several different beds
It isn't meant to be strictly a tutorial: it's about history, beauty and materials used in creating scent. If you follow along the last 1/4 of the video, I don't know why it would be difficult to make the potpourri according to my instructions.
Many thanks, It was an impromptu idea and when I was finished I thought of all the things I could have done to make it better... oh well. next year I can try again.
Charming characters abound at Hopalong Hollow! What a fun video! I've been keeping busy moving plants around too. A rather large tree died, and suddenly, a shade garden is in full sun.
Jeri - did you read the chapter in Confidences of an Amateur Gardener about keeping chickens? Too funny when she writes about the hens and their raising of the chicks.
I love visiting your world… I have a lot of catching up to do. Ive not been on RU-vid much. Im looking diesel to it. I loved hearing about your hens and their families. Sounds like a children’s book, and you didn’t even make it up! 📕
I’ve had so many blackberry looking vines come up in a few of my neglected beds. I don’t know how I’m going to get it out… seems like ive had a few things come in and be afeeasive…one is a creeping plant that is invasive and has blooms that looks like queen Anne’s lace. Can’t keep up with it.
You are my heroine ❤! Love the lattice wall I like the addition at the top. BTW, my Walmart is marking down many plants and I picked up 4 coneflowers, 8 Wizard of Ahhhhs PW Veronica's and some corallbells. Everything was $3! Your store might have some also. Do you use a garden app to identify plants? I know you are so well educated about everything green and growing but sometimes we have questions 😅
Oh my! You have a regular Bird Peyton Place! Oh the drama! 😂 Your gardens are coming along nicely. I love when you spot an empty area, “I can put annuals in there like zinnias.” That’s my whole landscaping plan in a nutshell! My daughter in law asks how my garden gets so full. I just dig, divide, fill the hole. 😉 My nemesis this year is a flock of neighboring guineas.😤 They have scratched deep indentations (I guess for dust bathing) in my pumpkin patch and lettuce bed. It’s rather comical to watch as I chase them under the fence into the horse pasture, they stand there watching me, saying things about me to one another in a very loud tone, then as I go back to the house they return.🤦🏻♀️ What’s a gardener to do?😵💫 I think a fence is in order. Thank you for the stories about your wonderful farm animals! Do your peacocks ever lay eggs?
Wow, am I glad I didn't get Guineas! Chickens are bad enough and they Do talk back when chased off the plot. Yep, you need a fence. My peacocks were all hatched from the eggs laid here on the farm by my Peahen. Unfortunately, she vanished into the woods a few years ago and never came home again. Now, I only have males.
The previous owner of my house was a gardener. She had Lemon Balm in one area but I didn't recognize it and didn't realize it would seed itself if it wasn't cut down regularly. Arghh ;) I have been able to reclaim some areas by carefully digging it out which is a big job. Did you redo your lattice with pre-made panels and what type of wood? 🌺 You have beautiful chickens and garden!
I purchased a tiny Lemonbalm plant from an Herbal show over 10 years ago and it was the biggest garden mistake I ever made. The lattice panels were 4x8 , I had to cut each one to fit and then frame them in with 1x2"s Pressure treated wood.
Ooh! The sewing items that you are showing,I have been collecting for years! I display a lot of the lace in the old Blue canning jars or any other old jars . As always, enjoy your videos alot. We have a lot in common! Thank you! ny other old jars🤗
So many wonderful and beautiful things you've shared Jeri. Hubby and I especially love the name Wilberforce for your chicken. Perhaps the names Tyndale, Bunyan and Spurgeon, are still up for grabs along with a few others like Sibbes and Owen? 😁
Здравствуйте уважаемая Джери, рада новой встречи с Вами. Разрешите поздравить Вас с пополнением цыплят, они очеровательны! I am in Upstate N.Y. & it is so hot & humid this morning. I am trying to tie up some of the Hydrangeas the heavy rain took down yesterday. Jeri, I love feverfew & have 3 different kinds in my gardens. Would you like some seeds in the fall? They are easy to pull out if you get more than you want.
I loved your chicken story! I find your videos so relaxing and beautiful! You are an extremely talented lady and your vivid imagination plays well with mine! Thank you for sharing your life with us!
I would love to have the kind of garden guests that you have... unfortunately, they would be here to feast upon my ducks and chicks.... How fun it would be to have a little hedgehog visitor.
Oh I enjoyed your chicken 🐓 tale so much it had me smiling 😊 unfortunately I’m passing through this as well but l have 3 children in the same nest and they are breaking my the eggs 🥚 😢sometimes I get lucky and save some eggs 🥚 ❤
It made me so happy to wake up to a new video. I love your chicken story...it made me laugh. I know all about broody chickens since I grew up on a farm. You are such a sweet kind person to all your animals.
