It really is. I've done bass lines with drums and a bit of melodic underpinning on the BIA, but the thing at 7:10 had a more developed chord progression than I can coax out of the telharmonic, without a lot of head scratching and referring to the circle of fifths wheel thingy. To be fair, unlike the ease of use in the other MN modules, that one is a pain because it's laid out with music theory in mind, and not making music spontaneously. Good music.
Thank you for this video - a really useful and helpful demonstration of what this module can do... and a wonderful advert! My mind is made up - gonna get one!
Love mine one of the all time greatest drum modules and more. I think that Noise Engineering, WMD and Hexinverter Mutant Drum modules are my favorite percussion modules.
Excellent vid. Thanks for sharing. I checked out your site and see you are in South FL. I'm in palm beach area. I hope your store takes off...we definitely need a "local" spot here in S. FL.
Thank you for the support! Awesome to hear your local, I want to start up some kind of modular meet up one day also. I don’t know a single person that is into modular locally here.
How are you getting the snare sound to come in separately in the first pitch? Do you have to send negative voltage to the attack input to get it to “turn left”?
Haha! awesome. I've been considering doing a cover of Golden Boy by Godley & Creme. I figured I'd... figure something out. I never thought I'd find the solutuion while watching a BIA video. The patch at 7:10 does the main two chord progression from the song. I'm sure you probably don't know thew song, I just thought it was a cool thing. Thanks. you solved a problem for me. And btw - I thought it was funny when you said the BIA was two hp smaller than the last model, and your BIA is sitting there with 1 empty hp on either side of it, just like mine.
To be honest that sound was such a happy accident. I was sitting there messing with a chord progression on my eloquencer and came up with that. I never heard of that song I’ll have to check it out. Then I was messing with the spread and harmonics on BIA. When I heard it I was like holy shit I’ve never heard anything like this come out of BIA!
