Thank you Joe! This will help me a lot, I’m laying out a TriFold wallet using the basket weave and thanks to you it should turn looking good. That’s if I keep a steady hand. Lol

Very cool on the diagonal pattern, resulting in arrows...

For someone wanting to try basket weave for the first time I would like to add my experience. I have five different sizes. The first was a big stamp thinking it would be fastest to cover an area. For me it is also the worst at stamping a good consistent line. Even a minor mistake sticks out like a sore thumb and hard to correct. As you know as the pattern starts to grow it becomes a pyramid. I can’t eyeball it to continue the line straight. Instead I take a straight edge and mark the unfinished lines with a a very thin scribe. I may do this several times.

There's no wrong way. Being unique is a trait of creativity. 👍

I'm guilty of getting my spacing off somewhat and ending up with slight wave in my basket weave. The more I practice, the better I get. Time and practice is the key,I believe. I really like that last patten you did. I'm going to give it a shot. Thanks

any basket stamp tool makers you like to use? tandy doesn't have good stamps so far for me.

could you do a follow up on keeping stright and in sequence when you have to jump over a design, say you have a flower in the middle and stamping on each side and around it

I still have trouble keeping the stamp straight once I've left the line, I dont want to draw a line every time. I am using a cheap stamp, I'm hoping the better one I ordered will help.

How do you maintain, or can you maintain the original size of the pieces you stamp? I cut out several pieces for a wallet but after stamping the outer piece with a weave stamp that piece is now too large to align with the others…

Joe: I am curious on how you stamp a basket weave into an odd shape. Example: I made a knife sheath. The front is an odd, organic shape. No straight lines. How do you basket stamp to fill it up without damaging the border of the stamping? Stamping with half the stamp? Tilt it. Curious.

Question for doing cartridge loops - I am using Tandy dye and then resolene sealant. I have found if I leave cartridges in the cartridge loops in a rifle buttstock wrap, where the leather is touching the cartridges turns green - any suggestions for making this not happen?

careful with double taps. i've accidentally bounced the tool and stamped way crooked hit it twice where i didn't want to..
