How to Get Perfect Leather Border Stamps

My personal preference when doing borders on square pieces is to angle the stamp in the corners and then fill in from there... I've found it gives a fuller and more uniform border but that just my opinion!

I love to see that you went the inexpensive route with your tooling surface. I got my "Mistake" Headstone back in the early '90s for $20.00 at the graveyard. Best tooling surface EVER!

Hey mate, I noticed you had an issue where your tool kept slipping when you hit it. I had the same issue and I fixed it by using a hammer styled mallet, I use Barry Kings Hammer Mallet.

You did a very admiral job of explaining how to space border stamps. But you committed the cardinal sin of RU-vidrs, you used the word “perfect”. It is NOT perfect ( border stamps VERY RARELY are.) The trick is to deceive the eye to hide the flaws. You demonstrated this pretty well. Please keep making these videos, they are well done. Just NEVER use the word perfect. Leather craft is an imperfect craft. Just like most crafts perfection is something to strive for but not possible to achieve. There is always something that can be improved. Thanks for taking the time and considerable effort to make these videos.
