We are almost done looking at the cells of the innate immune system, but two of the most important are basophils and eosinophils. What do these cells do? What types of receptors do they express? Let's get a closer look!

Thanks for another well done informative video. I am a medical laboratory scientist and one of my specialties is diagnostic hematology. Eosinophils have always been my favorite cells to see while examining a peripheral blood smear. I especially love the size of the granules in a horse’s eosinophils. Unfortunate we don’t get to see too many basophils given the extremely low percentage of the total white cell count. I love the way you break things down and make them understandable without me having to sit through another long lecture. I believe that’s one of your gifts, I could never do that, usually my friends and colleagues tell me to give them the Cliff’s notes version! Well done, sir!

I have a question that may no one know. Does activation of a one eosinophil or basophil cause a full blown immune response or does it require a large number of these cells and if that the case by how much increase in number and by what statement does anyone can know the critical number for such response?

Will you go over monocytes? Interestingly not much is known about basophils and they are getting recently extensively studied

Yeah, I did that, bud. In the debate, and several times since then. Actually watch my content.

@@ProfessorDaveExplains I now watched it. Seems like you've answered them but james your still didn't remove all of his origin of life videos like he promised if someone answered a single question out of the 5. Thanks professor Dave, not many scientists care about his pseudoscientific videos and you're the only one I've seen that cares about the truth and debunking his points.
