Miss fishing in South Florida. Lived there 1984 to 1994. Went in your marina many many times. Fished tournaments out of Bell Glades and Clewston many times. Fished the irrigation canal from Miami to West Palm beach. Hope one day I can go back down there and fish again.

Roland you can never never never complain living in Florida and bass fishing . We’ve got 115 in Phoenix with water temps around 95 right now . U live in the Mecca for bass fishing . I’m taking note of all yur spots so I know where to go when I move down there in 20 years :)

Hey Roland, I know the gators stay away for the most part, but do you ever worry about water moccasins when you get out and wade?They’re very aggressive, I’d be worried about them. What do you think? Thanks

I hooked a nice bass in the lower lip with a top water plug. To control it I hand held it by its "neck". It slipped and drove two hooks of a treble hook into my thumb with the full weight of the flopping fish driving it in. One went through and through so I bent down the barb and backed it out. Easy. The other was too deep and painful to remove myself. I severe pain, I went to the hospital where I am a doctor and they turned me away and the clerk reported me to administration. Ended up going to another hospital with a $950 ER visit and $450 copay. That ER doctor had never ever removed a fish hook and I had to tell him exactly what to do. Now I use a Rapala Fish Gripper to grip the lower lip and pliers to remove the hook whenever I use treble hook lures. It is actually safer for the fish too since you are less likely to drop it. A hook can ruin your day! In a remote location it is very inconvenient to say the least.

Wading in the Everglades is a good way to stay cool and walk amongst dinosaurs.

They used to have a top water called a torpedo. Tore them bass up once if you had em made or they still sell them at bass pro. The body looked like a torpedo with a prop in the back they had varying sizes colors. Shad to clear. With rattles inside.

Roland how do we go about getting a fishing tour guides by you. I hsve 2 boys that are getting into fishing and love watching you and Scott. Do you do the guided tours yourself?

I love these videos however I must correct you on one thing. Regarding AGM battries, they are also known as VRLA type battery. That is valve regulated lead acid, AGM battries are lead acid and share many of the shortcomings of there predecessors. You should check out lithium iron phosphate chemistry like you can find in Battle Born battries. You can get over twice the performance at one third the weight. Oh son, these are the ones to get!

I get scared when the alligators are longer than the boat. You never worry about them wading? What about air-boats blasting through there, is that something you worry about?

Does anyone know where on the Everglades this is? I have driven Alligator Alley and only seen pull over's on that stretch. I know Fishermen don't like to tell their spots but I would like to kayak fish this area!
