Just about as different feeling basses as there are! Which one do you like better?
Bass comparison in the mix for some context:
Spector Euro LX 5 black cherry gloss - 35" scale
Ibanez EHB1000s sea foam green matte - 30" scale
Recording: bass - Focusrite Scarlett - Reaper - Helix Native
Split tracks: clean lows, some dirt in the highs; open chord section at the end has another highly distorted mids layer
Music is from my originals band Atlas Cube: New single The Fugitive out now on all major streaming platforms - check it out if you dig!

35" vs. 30". 5 strings vs. 4 strings? Anyways, love the Ibanez EHB1000S headless. Thanks!

Great video - what's your onion on the headless and genre versatility

Hmm, meh - I think sound-wise, it's not particularly suitable for heavy styles. It's missing the "throbbieness" (for lack of a better term). I'd guess the look may be associated with modern proggie kind of stuff, but IMHO the sound doesn't deliver that. In terms of playability, it is fantastic: Super light, nice haptics, hangs well balanced off the strap. Finish looked and felt great both on the body and the neck. Mine had a construction issue with one of the knobs, which was a bit loose. Are you considering buying one?

@@BoneMachineMUC yeah I am, I play in a cover band and am looking for a lighter option that would allow me to play rock, funk, soul styles. I think with a bit of work this bass would suit my styles but always good to get some advice.

@@BoneMachineMUCI feel like you don't compare headless to classic, but this particular model to classic design. This bass wasn't made for heavier styles at all. You got short scale and shitty bartollini pickups with no definition, even my multiscale EHB sounds like shit because of them (that's why I plan to switch them for Aguilars).

@@h0nza_ Sorry if that was a bit unclear: You're right, I was talking about his specific bass, didn't mean headless in general. In general, my intention with the video isn't "let's make an equal-level fight to decide which one is better", but more "how much of a difference do you actually hear with some band contest, taking two radically different kinds of bass sounds".

You're comparing a European handmade instrument with an EMG and a Spector TonePump as a preamp to a Cort bass (Ibanez are made on CorTex factory, basically they are Corts) that costs MUCH less, with a funny "Bartolini" (mk1, BH1 and BH2 - not real Barts) on board.... Strange comparison. .... There is nothing in this video about scale length it like put an Fiat VS BMW

Nothing to argue against that, you are perfectly right about the basses. Where did you get the impression that this was intended to be an isolated scale length comparison? The premise was to take two extremely different basses with some context, to hear how much of a difference it makes (or not)...

@@BoneMachineMUC I got this impression from the title of the video - "Bass Comparison - When scale worlds collide" It is not named as " ....When polar points collide"
