Last year i was fishing behind the 300 loop and caught a pretty decent sized bass, im pretty young so it got me extremely excited because all i had ever caught before were bluegill and i had always wanted to catch a bass, im going fishing tonight so wish me luck!

Thanks JDubs! Yeah, I highly recommend staying at the Fort Wilderness Campground if you want to do any DIY bass fishing from shore. There are several places there that Disney allows you to fish from, and they're usually pretty good spots too. While the docks at the marina are posted "no fishing", I don't see a problem if you're out there super early (5AM for me) when no one else is around. I didn't have any issues on those docks, and that's where I got the biggest fish. My only regret was missing that big frog blowup. It was peeling drag the moment I set the hook. I missed a lot of others on the frog that didn't make it to the video. There was a lot more action in the early AM when it was still dark out - but the poor video quality didn't make it to the video. Nope. As long as you are a Disney guest and bring your own gear, there is no fee to fish from shore at Disney. They also offer boat fishing excursions, which do cost $$$.

Awesome! I wish I can fish there more often. I fished mostly in the canal that is along the eastern part of the Campground. I also fished the spillway that is behind the 300 loop.

@@windycityoutdoors5273 yeah my shiner was pretty much dead I was retrieving it and he got after this I cast again and something else big fought me for a few minutes I thought it was a turtle from the weight lol until I got it close to me it jumped and splashed look like a bigger bass or crappie hook came out but it was big lot of fun

@@jasonsmith2439 false. They allow ppl to fish anywhere at the Fort as long as you’re behind the ropes. I spoke to several cast members while I was fishing. No issues. Just returned from a week long stay and DIY fishing trip at the fort. Caught a ton. Try it. 🎣
