@@foxcub2yo108 as predicted - first few casts caught fish, then the wing action stopped working as well. You have to bend the tabs back with plyers, and if you bend metal back and forth a number of times it's eventually going to break. It's not a very good design for the wings, bends past the desired stop point too easy, a fish getting hooked can easily bend the wings back. The manufacturer is sending us a replacement but I fear it'll just do the same thing. Still a fun lure but for the price wish it was more durable.
Dude I had that happen to me a week ago when I was using a shad lure from Academy. I'm super pissed about it because when I pulled my phone out to take a picture the smaller one that was one there decided to unhook himself and go back into the lake.
I had once caught two fish like that, it was a small mouth bass and a northern pike. Coolest moment of my life. The bass was 5.7lbs which we kept and ate while I released the pike which was 4lbs. but since then it has never happened. Wish I could re-live the moment.

The bass were all just hamming it up for the camera because they knew you were filming and knew you'd release them. They were doing you a favor for the video because they know you feed them.
@@jamesshelton1127 But the bass he feeds told the bass in this river to ham it up for the camera because he feeds them. Word gets around when you are kind to nature.
@@louiscostanzo5595 Their natural prey includes crayfish and bluegills, so I doubt getting stabbed in the mouth by their dinner is that big a deal for them.
Those operate on the same principal as as the old crazy Crawlers. Years ago I used to fish a small lake with a buddy of mine in Wisconsin, one day he saw a largemouth bass snatch a red winged blackbird off of the bulrushes. He said they were black feathers floating everywhere. He's not the kind of guy to tell tall tales so I believe him. Every time I was out there after that, when there was a bird near the water I would just stop fishing and watch, never got to see it but that would have been awesome to see.
A productive day of Bass fishing like this would win you just about any bass fishing tournament out there. Even the PRO Tourney's. That was an awesome display of fishing. This guy can do NO wrong...... Love him and his videos.
I like how in that slo-mo of you reeling the bird lure in that its design was crafted to makes it look like a bird flapping for dear life out of the water! It shows how creative those crafters were in making this lure and not just makin a regular lure in the design of a bird.
@@TC-bz9dz He could do that: go out and shoot some starlings (they are an invasive pest in Texas (and pretty much the whole of North America)), take them to the pond, and see if the bass are interested.

That was more fun watching you fish than I ever had doing it ... Bet you would tear up my 4.75 acre pond that was stocked 20 yrs ago and has been catch and release except the last two years.
You might not listen to this and I don’t know if you know this but when your bass fishing try jerking the pole lightly, it makes the bass think whatever you have on the line is injured and they then want it even more

Back in the 80s I used to have a swimming mouse lure. The bass couldn't leave it alone. If I would have known. I would have bought ten of them. Love your videos. Keep up the good work.

@@tarpan365 Ok, thanks. I was curious, so I might try it for fun even though I only have kalamata olives right now. I've heard people catching fish (some on video) using the most unlikely objects as bait, including cigarette butts, so why not an olive.

As a kid my buddies and I used to sneak into a private lake in Los Serranos, California. The lake was surrounded by thick tulies and there were tons of blackbirds in the tulies. Could not see it, but every so often we would hear big splashes and then all the birds would take off . Pretty sure a big bass was jumping out of the water and trying to grab one of these birds.
I just HAD to click on this just to make sure you were NOT using real birds. LOL!!! 😁 Well that was fun. I like the cute little noise they make as they skim across the water.
