The RNDI just sounds so much fuller and has more sonic depth. I listened on both my iPhone earbuds and studio monitors and there is a massive difference. I think I am sold on the RNDI. Thanks guys.

Even through my cell phone speakers I can hear the detail of the RNDI! I bought one a while back and have been using it on bass! This video definitely help me decide really quickly what DI box I wanted!

Hi. This is a great demo. I find that the RNDI has the least amount of coloration. It seems to just transfer the sound of the instrument straight through to the listener and it didn't sound like it attenuated any high frequencies at all. It seemed to reveal initial transients / attack the best of the three. The J48 has a nice top-end roll-off that I really liked and the basses sounded round. The LiveWire seemed to have a comb-filtering or phasing issue that killed the mid range. The basses sounded hollow with it. I didn't like it at all.

wondered if the LiveWire would naturally sit better in a mix off the bat? but the neve did sound like it captured everything better.

I have no idea if it’s complete placebo but there’s something I like about the Neve that is ridiculously subtle (as it should be with a DI, it’s not meant to color the signal) but also there. Maybe just a really even harmonic picture? I swear there’s something!! Haha

I think perhaps the RNDI captures more low end nuances bc it has more low end that the J48. However I do think that bc the J48 does not have as much low end the result is it is tighter sounding and more clear without being muddied by the extra lowend that the fundamental frequencies of the instrument do not occupy. What are your thoughts?

If Jon sees your question, he might be able to weigh on that. Right now I am sure he is very busy with NAMM. Thanks for watching and for your input! Please feel free to Like, Share and Subscribe to our channel.

There is something incredibly musical about RNDI. I previously owned J48 myself, using it with electric guitars mostly and i liked it. But not enough to not let it go, since i didn't really need it anymore. RNDI sounds best to my ears. However, i'm not sure it's worth 300 eur. Little Labs Redeye 3D is what i'll probably get, since it offers both passive/active DI + reamping capability at the same price as RNDI. Countryman 85 gets a lot of praise too, so that's definitely another one to consider!

Well, I liked the J48 the most. Not that I disliked the RNDI, if someone gave it to me I'd be drooling all over it, but I simply don't have the urge to run and buy one given that I own two J48's and I think that says plenty about how I personally felt (and I DO get urges to buy gear from reviews). Oddly enough, my two Radials are noisier than this one in the demo, although to be fair I play pretty damn soft. Softer than any other bass player I've met in my life (due to injuries), so I guess I notice the noise more. Alright, enough monologue, back to my comment: I have an Avalon U5, a Grace M101 pre, a Music Valve Electronics tube DI, Aguilar Tone Hammer, Countryman Type 85, JDI, and two J48's. And my Eden head has a beautiful sounding DI out. The J48's are my favorites. I'm not a P-bass nerd, I'm not one of those who says "nothing better than a Precision, bro!", but if this guy had plugged in a P-bass into those boxes a lot of you would feel more inclined towards the Radial, I'm sure. But again, if any of you wanna give me an RNDI, I'll take it =)

Comparing three different DI's, giving an opinion is what reviews are about. Do you have a favorite DI? Thanks for watching and for your input! Please feel free to Like, Share and Subscribe to our channel.
