Voice Play has a Viking shanty called My Mother Told Me; and Tim also does Misty Mountain, with Peter Hollins. I much prefer Tim's Misty mountains to Geoff's. Geoff, in his version, seems to be singing solely to look for reasons to show off how deep he can go - when he's so much more than that.

Mette, I think it's cool that they do, it's just natural for us lowly humans not to compare their sounds. I love that they all bring something unique to the table. To me, Geoff has a stunning smoothness to his voice, Tim's growl and apparent ease is exciting and Avi has so many tricks up his sleeve, (especially when paired with K.O.!) They are just all so different and yet so interesting!

The fashion accessory called a " beanie" today has been called a "watch cap" by the US Navy for over two centuries. It came from British usage a couple of centuries before even that. In the days of sail ship's crew stood four-hour "watches" at the ships wheel, on deck for maintenance, available to make or shorten sail and all other tasks. A small knit cap would keep a head warm in cold weather and was easily replaced if carried away by wind or wave.

Adam Chance, the first singer, was the bass in his original acappella quartet Street Corner Symphony (edited). He holds down the bass in Home Free when Tim takes the lead parts. Their cover of Folsom Prison Blues really shows off both of these guys. As to Tim and his full Jack Sparrow, he's also standing in a boat (it's hard to see but I think that's why he's standing so still). Tim got the Sparrow costume but Austin took on the psycho-Sparrow mannerisms. And can we just have a moment of appreciation for Adam Rupp's ability to mimic castinets without spit flying everywhere?

Home Free primer: Austin Brown, high tenor, dressed in a red shirt with the sword. Rob Lundquist, lead tenor, big guy with full beard. Adam Chance, baritone-bass, goes by Chance, beanie and tattoos. Tim Foust, bass (best country harmony bass since Richard Sturbin from the Oak Ridge Boys), Jack Sparrow Costume. Adam Rupp, beatboxer extraordinare, white shirt. While I agree that sometimes the arrangements can be a little static especially in their earlier stuff, they are so well sung and performed that they are always worth listening to and watching. The newer stuff, like Timeless and Dive Bar Saints albums with more original music show their improvement and they did some really neat stuff on Land of the Free, which is mostly covers.

"Middle Guy" is Austin Brown. He's their high tenor. Awesome range, as well.

If you switch off your "auto play" on YT it won't go right into the next video. It's right next to the cc setting on the video screen. Thanks for the video!

My favorite part of the last song in the castanet sound from Adam Rupp. Adam Rupp is the one with the pictures of ships behind him.

The person you are asking about in the middle box is Austin Brown. He just acting a fool is what he is doing. If you want a good laugh you need to text to Never Gonna Give You Up.

Did you know that Tim actually helped Geoff unlock lower notes than he knew he could pull off? Not only are Home Free insanely talented, but just damn good guys, too. Check out Tim Foust and Peter Hollens Misty Mountains. You want pit viper? Oh he's got it in SPADES. Keep going down the Home Free rabbit hole, you'll see!!!

For Tim being the bassiest bass god as ever, check out Peter Hollen and Tim on Misty Mountain, the breakdown on Honey I’m good, and Do you hear what I hear.

Adam Chance does an amazing job. One of the other bands that he's been a part of is one called Streetlight Symphony, who's cover of Madness is one that I really enjoy. However, one that blew me away was his cover of Oo-de-lally from Disney's animated Robin Hood. He does a bloody amazing job with it, and if they ever do a remake of that movie, he's got my vote for Allan-a-dale XD But yeah, this is a pretty amazing medley in its own right, and I love listening to it ^_^ And yeah, Adam Rupp, the guy wearing the red outfit and doing all of those funky gestures is very much channeling Jack Sparrow. Like, Tim is dressed as Jack, but Adam is playing Jack XD

On a note. I highly suspect Chance’s behind the scenes under handed influence in starting sea shanties popularity. You see, there’s a story behind Chance’s dogged obsession with wanting to do a sea shanty, but it wasn’t until it became popular on Tic Tok that Home Free caved into Chance’s request. So you see, I believe Chance was behind that Tic Tok sea shanty explosion. Can’t prove it but I’m on to him.😬

For your Pit viper status, you must check out Misty Mountain with Peter Hollens. Tim has some great moments throughout that one. It's a must see. You probably aren't aware, Tim has a 5+ octave range and Austin Brown, the high tenor has a 3 octave range.

I've become addicted to Home Free of late. The bass trade-offs that Tim and Avi (Pentatonix) do on Ring of Fire are awesome. The beat boxer is always surprising me with new sounds, like the harmonica in Man of Constant Sorrow, are her at 12:15 in your video we get castanets. Damn!
