Different basses & pickups tells us essentially nothing about differences in strings, esp. similar strings from same manufacturer. Love this channel though so happy to listen to Andy’s playing anytime!

@@snstyvr7597 it's all absolute nonsense the tone really comes from the player. On my P bass I have flats and on my jazz I have rounds and I love the way they take you in different directions. It also shows how deluded and confused I am which I think alot of musicians are , and that is oddly something I am grateful for. All the best

I live in Vermont and solved the same problem w/ Thomastik-Infeld JF 344 , which these Labella's share the design, sizing, and tension with. The LaBella version seems to have a more lows and less mids than the TI on this great demo.

Trust the TI's are great. My rick wasnt setting up properly and i couldnt set the action low cause of the high tension of some of these flatwounds. Problems immediately solved upon putting on the TI's i wanna give the la bella low tensions a go on my P bass but it honestly feels better to play.

@@lisaredsatl2571 The 9050Ls aren't stiff at all. The 9050 MLs are stiffer than most round wounds on the D and G strings, but aren't incredibly stiff. They sound great, but if you like the La Bella sound, you might not prefer the Fender sound.

@@Trey-jl9ruThat doesn’t make sense. They didn’t say they couldn’t hear a difference. It’s that there are differences beyond just the strings. How pickups are wound can make a big difference. So maybe you need some hearing aids and listen to some pickups wound to 11k and 14k. And also it’s just very unscientific. To compare you should add controls to eliminate any variation to ensure you’re hearing just the differences in the strings. Why did I even respond. I’m sure this was pointless.

I'm pretty sure those are 760FS (black silk). Unfortunately on my Precision with the pure vintage 63 pickup they sounded a bit muddy so I currently have d'addario chromes, but I've heard them sound fantastic on P basses with brighter pickups and/or maple fretboards. It all depends on the pickup/strings combo in my opinion

Also with that set the E string will sound darker, but that's usually true with all La Bellas, it's a classic flatwound feature

The low tension as the neck wanted some relief cause the strings don’t pull much

​@@andysvintageguitars2335so yours saying the extra light didn't need any truss adjustment? Which strings can you move fastest on? Which are better for slap? Im considering one of the 2 sets for my fender jazz, have any recommendations for which would be more suitable for the jazz? Thanks
