Bassmaster Open on Smith Lake Day 1 (A good lake got tough) 

I watch a few guys in here. But watching you just fish is pure pleasure. Your attitude year after year tourney after tourney is the same. Like your headed out to catch your first bass ever. It’s addicting.

Great video Todd, pretty tough fishing. Coming in with 8# was pretty good considering several other Smith Lake videos I’ve seen! Every video I’ve seen talks about how tough it was, including Andrews and it looks like you did better than most and at least you did see fish, several said they never saw fish, especially the second day. Thanks for sharing, and great job skipping and flipping, great to watch someone really proficient in those techniques!👍👍

Good video Todd ....Refreshing to watch someone fish all day with a bait caster! .... Nothing against my Stellas, but my first choice for dropshotting big Erie smallies, was a baitcast with 10 lb floro! I see you got your wish for a Red River derby next year! Hell.....just put some time in there, and embrace it.... I have no doubt that you can make it in just the 3 Centrals!

Which "Smith Lake" is this- in north Alabama? Sorta looked like Lewis Smith but- then it sorta didn't to- couldn't tell. Besides- Smith is so huge I haven't covered anywhere near even half the lake over the last 20 years- if it's not down toward the dam I probably haven't been there. I'm fixing to kayak the Sipsey all the way from Bankhead National Forest into Smith lake so I'll be coming in on the upper end of the lake- never been up there. It's gonna take a good week or more- camping every night and then carrying on the next day- especially if I fish much along the way, which I plan on doing. Can't wait...
