Alexandre Silvério - Brazilian Bassoonist

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Alexandre Silvério is one of the few bassoonists in the world who plays both Classical and Jazz. He is the principal bassoonist of the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (called in Brazil as OSESP), but also a very committed jazz bassoonist.
In 1997, at 22, he won an audition to be part of one of the most important orchestras in South America: the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra.
In 1999, Alexandre was awarded with a scholarship from the Vitae Institute to study at the "Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin," with his hero, inspiration, and bassoon legend Klaus Thunemann.
In 2002, he was accepted into the Berlin Philharmonic Academy (Karajan Akademie), where he had the opportunity to study with Markus Weidmann, Marion Reinhardt, and Stefan Schweigert.
In Berlin, he played with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, where he also had the opportunity to work with some of the best musicians and conductors of our days.
In addition to playing with OSESP, Alexandre teaches at the Osesp Academy of Music, is part of CAMALEON BASSOONS, and is part of a jazz group named after himself.
His discography includes BACHIANAS BRASILEIRAS N.6 (BIS 2007), "Mágoas de Fagote" (CD BABY,2008), and "Entre Mundos - Alexandre Silvério Quinteto" (Alexandre Silvério, 2015)
Since 2018 Alexandre has been a "Püchner Artist" and plays with the Model Superior Bassoon.
