I was contemplating this particular knife because I enjoy the feel and quality of Bastinelli knives and you as always made it an easy decision to order. I have the Raptor L, Assaucalypse, along with the quality single shoulder rig. Watching your videos has me ordering the Chopper and the Shadow. I have always appreciated quality workmanship and Bastien designs great products and has quality manufacturing to fulfill his vision. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Thank you for your work.
I'd love to get the satin version of this knife to go with the Brachial I have which is its automatic folder version in m390, I think the knife is a microtech product since he's got a relationship with them and they're making a lot of their knives in m390.
That would make sense and be very interesting if this blade was produced by Microtech, although I've not known them to be an OEM for anyone, but an interesting prospect nonetheless. I'd love to pick up the Brachial one of these days. Thanks for watching! 🔥👍🗡️
Five Formed Fist Kung Fu, Pekiti-Tirsia Kali, Yang Tai chi, Aikido, Eagle Claw Chin Na, but not currently active in all. Mainly now Tai Chi and Chi Gung for health & Kali for blades and SD ...
It's a good-looking knife I'd rather have the case but one thing I don't like is that little strap they put around the sheath that is not going to click to a belts not clip in your pocket one of them is not going to flip Ranger style unless it's just dangling around it might be hanging handle down or it might be hanging with handle up but it's not going to be horizontal with one strap. First thing I would do is have to buy an Ulta clip which is sucks when you paid that much for a knife, I would hope for a decent clip on such a good Kydex sheath but nice review.
Personally I never use those single straps for scout carry. I simply angle them so that the knife carries either appendix or kidney carry and is easily withdrawn. This way the kydex hides inside the waistband. It's been a very convenient way to carry small fixed blades for many years. I have enough different types of clips and tech locks sitting around that I can adapt as needed so carry options aren't a worry... 👍🗡️👍
Works well in point down so long as you don't expect to cut on the pull. Many stylists use a forward push cut in the point-down grip since not all blades were designed for the libre fighting techniques.
That’s a nice looking knife Dave!! The handle looks comfortable. I believe you will like Bastinelli Askari when you get one in hand. Great video/ Thanks!
I have never seen a bad review of the Chopper. People who are knowledgeable about blade combatives give this blade a thumbs up in reviews ( video and written) that I've watched and read. I have wanted one for a while now and I will be getting one myself as I love the aesthetics of it. From what I understand V Nives only makes the case. The knife is apparently manufactured at Bastinelli's newer facility in Florida.
Only seeing photos of the Clever Girl by CRKT, seems like a similar blade profile but larger then the Chopper, so I believe it could succeed at similar tasks... 🤔🗡️👍
I have the Clever Girl. I bought it for the blade profile but I am disappointed that the handle is so long it makes it difficult to EDC. I think I’ll have to spring for a chopper.
@@cmoorhead1 haha, I don’t think I’ll ever EDC a fixed blade in city, my tasks are very common, and folding knife can handle it. In my mind fixed should be used on work place, hunt or camping. And I prefer a bit longer handle, more than 50/50 blade/handle ratio.
You will be sharpening it 4 times a day if you actually use it, sk5 steel really sucks, it's tuff but that's about as far as it goes for the good about the sk5 on the clever girl, the bad is alot longer list
For whatever reason that seems to be a highly guarded secret... 🤔. Blade says m390 USA, and all the others are made in Italy. A wild guess would be either made in the Bastinelli shop in Florida or by Microtech knives since they are making the brachial auto. If you find out some information I'd love to know as well. 👍🗡️👊
