I remember bowling with Varun in Abdul Jabbar's cricket academy at CLRI Chennai. He used to bowl medium pace, and we used to share the new ball. He was around 23/24 that time, and i asked him, "You are playing for fun, or you are going to take cricket as a profession ? He replied, I want to represent India". And when he wore the blue jersey, I had goosebumps. He took a break after that, and i met him again in 2018 league, where he stared bowling finger spin. Man, he made us dance by taking 8 wickets against our team !

Here Varun anna explaining his journey towards his dream, saying that he had many distractions of changing careers from time to time. But I have seen in him close quaters when he picked 24 wickets in 4 matches. He is totally devoted himself with the cricket ball.
