I don't think that's me, but I did that. She was kinda okay with me keeping it though. She said she was kinda disappointed that game wasn't more like Final Fantasy. I love the game however, it got me to buy Baten Kaitos: Origins as well, which I needed a region unlocker to play too.
100% official lyrics: *Why not the wind, why the flip* *But coming up, why are you such over there* *Now I don't wanna side with myself here* *An unexpected woke-up, the end from stroke 'em, what? Stroke 'em* *Now, that's one to cross to live longer* *Relief!* *Get over right here* *It's season fours pass* *The end of what? Stroke 'em* *Now north side's petrified golden boy* *Thought about, we ain't comfortable, love* *Epic belief, all the way!* *Feeling gay* *Feeling gay* *Feeling gay* *Feeling gay*
@@allencrown oh I don't think anyone was calling the game itself bad. I love it. But this song is under a Playlist called "bad video game music" and it really doesn't belong here lol
Oh man, that infamous save point at the start of disc 2. I remember challenging the immovable forces of destiny so many times to this song, until eventually I overcame them. Couldn't have asked for a better soundtrack for that type of moment.
I recently finished this game for the first time, and I absolutely loved it. I had never listened to Motoi Sakuraba’s music before, but this song caught my attention the moment I heard it. I’ve been listening to this a lot in the last week as it’s such a bop. It has lots of _Yakuza_ energy.
@supersonicmario56 hell yeah dude haha I'm hyped for this! Makes me hold inner hope they'll make a 3rd Sequel randomly after this. If the remaster is successful.
I know you posted this 6 years ago. I had this game as a kid. Forgot what it was called and that it existed. My entire life (~17 years) I had “feeling gaay” stuck in my head. Don’t know where from. Not kidding, close to 2 decades of “feeeling gaaay” Stumbled upon this game In my mom’s attic somewhere. For some reason I realized this might be the game. Combed thru the OST today. Didn’t know what song, and so I looked thru the comments first as usual. And lo and behold. Your comment. I feel like I unlocked a part of my brain locked away for so long
I have always loved this track, especially because it is so unexpected in a game like Baten Kaitos. Speaking of which, Baten Kaitos is my favorite rpg.
In a game that threw piece after piece of music with a classical feel, a stylish song like this only becomes accentuated. It's SO damn out of place but it's okay because it ****ing rocks.
the "lyrics". aren't actual words. it's gibberish that was used to create a phonetically interesting sample that was used in other stuff, notably one of the mini games soundtrack for Thrillville on PS2.
So for context. It does indeed say "feeling gay". As to why. Remember that gay used to have a older meaning, meaning "happy". The composer (who is amazing) Motoi Sakuraba used to have a few more "english" lyric soundtracks for games in the past. Back then some of these had what I believe "simple-translated-english": Meaning that some words or sentances were a bit weird for us english speakers. I saw this happening a lot with japanese english lyric songs out there. Like with Anime intros, take the lyrics of the intro music of the anime Parasyte for example, these lyrics have the same thing a bit haha. Good song though, amazing music.
The remaster isn't out yet, but somehow this game slipped under my radar for literally 20 years. A couple weeks ago my friend said "Buy this game, you're gonna love it" and man I am completely in awe. Definitely gonna play the remasters too!
One of the most beautiful and best RPG games I've ever played. It didn't even want me to put the controller down after I was fighting with those 3 enemies in boss battle. Epic.
Just finished the first game on Switch yesterday and I agree with everything you said. Amazing game and epic fight. 14 years appart between us, but same feeling!
This really does fit as a theme to a unit/group known to be the sorts of people no one else wants to work with yet are too valuable and useful. You know there's a reason to feel worried with one of these guys coming after you as opposed to the regular forces~
Haha oh man, I feel synonymous with you all. I bought this game in I believe '05, got to this battle on the Goldoba and just could not beat them. Yeaaars later I decided to give this game another go and it took too many tries to beat those three. I then almost completed the entire game when my memory card corrupted. Another few years later I just bought a new one and I'm starting this game over once again! I'm looking forward to this battle >:]
This is probably....one of the best OST tracks from any game...ever. Also, were the Giacomo fights really supposed to be that hard?? As long as you're defending with the right element and have plenty of revive cards you're fine o_O I had Gibari mop them up pretty much single handed.
Best... theme... evar! I always play this whenever I log onto any MMORPG. It pumps me up to the point which you'll have a bit of trouble trying to avoid me.
I LOVE these two games. Wish it had more of a following. HD Remake would be awesome. I played them in Chronological order, so was a little confused, but still had fun. Loved "1 shoting" the final boss of the first. It was so random and just happened.
Man, I haven't played this game in years. This music is really making me want to start again. Hopefully that damned battle on the goldoba won't make me start a new file again -_-
pitbullsucks Haha lol wtf xD Giacomo and co are weak and thats the only thing that bugs me in this game, the fights are WAY to easy... srsly i almost insta killed Malpercio
Tripple-A_96, have you ever had multiple hands of nothing but bananas? For the fight on the goldoba, my characters couldn't do anything because one had a hand full of bananas, and the other two had defensive items so they couldn't attackXD for some reason the game shuffled all of my healing and defensive items into my first few hands. I didn't die for this boss battle this time(made a new profile because when I was younger I screwed myself over by saving right before the fight with no camp items and all my characters were under leveled and more than half dead. Oops. Still almost won, but got annoyed and started from scratch) Even though I didn't die this time due to good preparation and a love of needless level grinding, it is possible to be really unlucky. Like having an entire hand of bananas to start off a boss battle. Took a lot of needless damage thanks to the unnecessary amount of bananas, but it's funny imagining Lyude trying to block Giacomo's scythe with a heap of bananasXD
This game...i played and beat it 8 years ago...still brings back so many memories..my favorite rpg of all time..if i can recall, ive beaten the game 8 times
That's been 18 years, holy molly! As a fan of Monolith Soft works (mostly Xenoblade), I just started the HD Remaster on Switch and I'm having a blast! Since I've wanted the physical version, I imported it from Taiwan. Wherever you are, I hope you still enjoy the game and had the opportunity to try the great Switch version!
@@Minako_Meleph I haven't had the chance to play the game on Switch but I did recently played it again on Gamecube. Ye, its been 18 years lol, so wild. But the the beauty and magic of this game hasn't faded even after that long. Coming back to this comment 10 years later is very nostalgic lol. Hopefully we can keep this game alive in our hearts for a very very long time.
I love this music! It made me really sad when you don't fight them anymore 'cause you don't get to hear the song in the game again. Personally, I didn't have too much of a hard time with the fights against them, other than the one everyone says is really hard. Of course, it also didn't hurt that most of my characters were loaded up with lots of light attacks... 0_0
You can get through it; just don't be afraid of running into monsters while you're doing it. You can kind of "feel around" for where you're at; I recommend staying around the edges if you can :). And then when you're done you don't ever have to go back through it again if you don't want to! :)
Ok, this is some ultimate crackhead bs, but I swear to christ that this song was used in the Thrillville: Off the Rails entertainer rhythm mini-game. I cannot for the life of me find any footage of this to prove it, but I know that it had to be. I know this cause I didn't discover Baten Kaitos for many years after playing the game, but I always remembered this song being one of the ones you could play, and I remember because I think I found the vocals weirdly annoying for some reason back then (lol) and I *immediately* recognized this song when hearing it again upon playing Baten Kaitos. Not sure if anyone else on earth has had a similar experience to this, but if someone by some ungodly astronomical luck also did, please let me know lmao
I double checked, because when I saw your post I thought I must have been crazy when I typed out the level, but no, I used Kalas, Lyude and Gibari, all level 27. When I got out of there my Xelha was 27 (not entirely sure how that happened o_o I guess they auto-leveled her because you start with her. Once I got Gibari back he went up to 31. Somehow. Again I'm not sure wtf happened. But yeah, no trouble with the battle, just took care not to do anything stupid. :) watch those elemental armors.
I wasn't strong enough so I restarted the game. I trained in Mintaka and got a lot of White Ashes (I think that's the name) for Gibari. The battle was a piece of cake after that.

I always thought the opening lyrics sounded like "Shrine of the wind, want a spliff? Listen to meeeee!" Later on it sounds like the woman is saying "really gaaaaayyyy." Truly, this is one of the best songs from this game.
What makes this song so good is that it's only used for Giacomo and his gang, and it doesn't really match the rest of the music in the game, making it (and the fights where it's heard) stand out that much more compared to the other boss fights. I can honestly say that I have no clue what the music for any of the other boss fights in this game sounded like; it just wasn't memorable in comparison.
I want to say right now that this fucking boss is unreal. I played him so many times the first time, then, right as I left the battleship to go to the savepoint outside the room, I hit the NPC and had to REFIGHT this MONSTER. Took me like 10 hours. When I found out I had to fight him later in the game.... omg... you have no idea. It took FOREVER for me to kill them again, like, I'd say, around 16 hours of deck modification and praying to RNGsus.... but then... after that fight.. no.. its not over.. YOU HAVE TO FIGHT HIM AGAIN. I straight just gg, Game Cube has been on for about 3 weeks now(that way I avoid battling him again), that boss battle is still loaded. Cant beat it. It's just ridiculous.
+MelKaven My personal strategy is that I switch to a character I rarely use and make that character a White Mage, where I load the deck with nothing but healing cards. Worked brilliantly.
+MelKaven Its not that hard if you know what youre doing i loved this fight bc i love this theme you just need the right elements some good balance between healing def and attack items in your deck. At my first playtrough i struggled too but second time it was easy peasy for me :)
