8:24 I love seeing other Guinea pigs being groomed. It actually makes me appreciate how well behaved my Mocha is during the fur trims most times. Thank you for posting this video, loved it.
I'm a dog groomer... I groom my long haired piggie at home with my professional tools. Just a couple of things. Piggie feet and ears CAN. Slide into that guard comb, it only makes the clippers marginally safer. So just be extra careful around the toes and ears. Also, piggie cuts on a naughty pig will look crazy. We have a saying "good dogs get good hair cuts" it's the same for piggies. She looks great for how much of a butt she was 😅
I adopted a Peruvian male and he is a biter too. I put a large pee pad on my lap and trim him there with grooming scissors. Nail trimming is a whole other matter! 😂😭
She is adorable and so funny how angry they get ---my Harriet will bit when I am doing her nail trims, no matter what distraction I have tried to make the process comfortable. Taking breaks, and staying calm like you do, I have learned is the key---and a nice treat after. She won't do during. Thank you for sharing !
I have a silky guinea pig in my herd and she is very skittish too, Eventually if I hold her in my lap with a blanket in between grooming she gets used to the process
I’m so glad you are uploading more again! I have a teddy and an absynian piggie, I have no clue if I spelled that correctly 😅. But anyway- even though I don’t have a long haired piggie it’s great to know this stuff just in case!😮😊❤
15:13 is it me or after having a fur cut do the long hair piggies look more like an Abyssinian? LOL I find after trimming Mocha she looks like an Abby. I think Marshmallow does too, it's cute.
Hi i love your channel! I have a question, my male guinea pig nibble has a bit of matted fur that is stuck in his fur but seems to be almost out (its on his lower back) and he hates being touched . What should i do ? ❤❤❤❤
It's very nice job but for the Guinea pig may a little less😂❤ However she's very very very calm, my rabbits when I must grooming they, they're most less calm and friendly😂
She is stunning 😍, I bet it would be quite a challenge to groom her. You do very well with her Auturm. My Ginnie pigs also get very defensive if I try to groom their back ends, but again I try to be patient as I know it's a Ginnie pigs sensitive area also mine can go for each other's bums as a dominants thing I guess, as you where saying, it's not nice for them and they don't like it, but it has to be done. I have a smooth haired Cressed American Ginnie pig who has long fur. She too does not like it washed or groomed, especially as she is a senior pig of 6 years old. She is beautiful looking though and has a darling and very funny personality 😄 ☺️ ❤
