The bathroom scene was unbelievable magical. Arthur' descent to madness is one of the saddest, tragic stories I've ever seen

If this movie doesn't get the Oscar for best soundtrack and best actor, I have nothing left to say about the Academy.

He danced : -in the bathroom after he killed the 3 wall street guys -in his home after he killed his mom -in the stairs after he killed Randall -in the TV show and on the car after he killed Murray -in the asylum after he killed the psychologist.

The power... The emotion... The movement... The direction... The music... the whole theatre was lost in shivers and grasping for breath.

As a professional dancer, this scene is very shocking to me and not because of his way of dancing, but what he transmits. When he enters the bathroom, he does not know how to process the feeling of having committed a murder, so he begins to express it through a dance ritual. As the dance goes on, the Joker continues to dance but now in order to eliminate all the guilt he feels for killing those three people, and tries to convince himself that what he did is right. And finally, in the 1:18 minute we can see how unintentionally he ends up accepting evil in his soul and his movements begin to be faster and with confidence. All the feeling of guilt left, his ego rose, and his thirst for revenge is greater. Finally, when he look himself in the mirror, there is no return. His soul was completely poisoned.

In this scene, Arthur showed who he really was; Joker. 🃏

This isn't even a descent to madness it's embracing his inner madness instead of keeping it locked away making him feel free

The fact that this scene was improvised and not from the script just shows the brilliance of Todd Phillips’ direction and Joaquin’s tremendous performance!

Joaquin Phoenix did a phenomenal job, Joker got 11 Oscar nominations, and we live in a society. Perfectly balanced as all things should be.

Sooooooooo *MAGESTIC,* *WELL* *EXECUTED,* cinematography is on *POINT* and the music highlights it *PERFECTLY.* My respect to Joaquin, Hildur, and the last but not least Mr. Todd Phillips por making this Oscar-Worthy *MASTERPIECE.*

This film now remains as one if the best comic book movies of all time. Joaquin Phoenix should be proud for his accomplishments

3 months and this is already one of the most iconic and greatest scenes in a movie I’ve ever witnessed. This is literally the moment in Arthur’s life where he realizes who he is, and it’s beautifully disturbing and captivating.

Scenes like this remind me of the power of film. The combination of the music, the camera work, and Phoenix’s acting all combine to where you are shocked to find yourself enamored with a man’s descent into madness.

This is the most confusing movie I ever watched and loved

I wish I had the opportunity to watch this movie back in theater instead of watching it on a TV screen. But alas, by the time this movie came to my home country's wide screens the renowned world calamity we're living in right now had started and curfew was forced and all public places were closed. Some movies are made to be experienced in cinemas, and some can be watched on a smartphone 's screen. This film is definitely the former.

How many of us felt our hearts drop into our feet and shatter when he thought about kissing her and also thought just how unfair it is that we couldn't do that to an unrequited love or someone we feel that deeply towards? But then we remember that nowadays it's been made illegal to do something that affectionate towards someone we love (an average guy can't even confess his unrequited love to a woman without getting arrested these days, so there's no point in trying)

I’m sure doing this scene without music wouldn’t have been such a bad choice because I think it would have made viewers even more uncomfortable.

Arthur for years i imagine did everything he could to suppress the Joker and keep him from ever coming out. However this scene, and the scene before it, was essentially the Joker finally breaking through and coming up for air in the real world.

This scene alone secured Best Score at the Oscars

To be honest The Joker is not a villain for me, but a sad and lonely person
