Too many different types and design of tiles for me personally. There's something different in every room, to me it is too much. I like a clean singular look throughout a house.
Agreed. Also in my opinion too much white. I have a white floor in my house, the second you clean it, it gets dirty again. Especially having a dog and all of the crazy what’s inside things, the floors will need constant cleaning to look really nice
Don’t do marble in entryway. Do same wood flooring. U could always change it up with carpets for the entryway and easy to change the style with carpets over it. U already have to many marble floors and different ones u don’t want another onen
Just my two cents as a graphic designer. I think every floor you guys picked out was excellent, with the exception of the black and white marble. I didn't like the white and grey marble either. Ultimately your best option is to take a pic of the room and impose the different choices over the floor with Photoshop, or some other app, rather than a 3D type render (that won't give you a very true feel of the nuance of the room, lighting, texture, etc.). Who, knows it might look amazing! Then you will be able to visualize it better. Who knows, maybe even a polished cement or some other solution that isn't even on the table yet. Im loving these videos, keep em coming!
The house is going to look like a model home where they put different flooring samples in every room or a tile shop where you order floors. When they get finished since your not moving in till a month later the tile company can bring people over and say choose your flooring. Not going to lie all your friends that you bring over are going to laugh in their heads at your flooring.
Do wood floors. If you drop anything on marble, it will break no matter what. Definitely think you should do wood floor. But, no matter what you do it will look great!
Noor Hadi wood doesn’t dent. We recently had our house renovated, and we put wood floors in. We have dropped so many things and it hasn’t given us any problems.
Wood floor can last years if they put it on right we had a house with marble and cement and the cracked and it was a pain to replace especially because it would brake easily and wood if you get the right good quality wood and it’s all placed good then would is better
And we a renovating a house we are going to do all wood except in the bathroom and kitchen we are probably going to do ceramic wood looking or tile that looks like wood
Private Jo222 If you don’t like my opinion don’t like it then,it’s my opinion. You’re the one that’s being mean right now. It’s kinda offensive to me. Since I’m only 9, it’s mean to reply like that. My Chinese teachers are nicer than you. No offense but Have you ever learned Chinese?
I am a professional contractor this is what we call in in the industry “Problem Customers”. You never want more than 3 different floor types in your home.
The more options that the clients choose the more money the designers make! The designers would feel useless if they suggested to choose one uniform tile throughout the entire house
Yea I really didn’t wanna say this but that checkered board tile looks really bad like I mean I would’ve never even thought about that the designer on the other hand is definitely ripping them off
Yeah exactly. "The brown makes it look dirty" You chose white tile for a floor???!? It is going to always be dirty. Always. But if they are so well off I guess they can have their maids clean it twice a day.
Black and white kitchen looks nice. I have a black and white granite kitchen and it looks amazing. Also having different tiles in your room creates a very hotel like experience. Plus it’s there house so they can do what they want.
Shivesh Reddy I know that something o would hate there should be at max 3 different flooring 1 style for bedroom 1 for bathrooms and 1 for rest of house
Matthew Courtney marble is also a very sensitive mineral! You have to use the right products to clean it or it will look dull and not to mention it is super easy to get scratched up. It’s white on top of that so it will need to be cleaned often to keep it looking white, which is going to wear it down SO fast.
Doctor ask: how many types of floor is at yours place ? why flooring can make headache ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3Ps_X-IrvAo.html
Man every aspect of this house has been so good until the floors. In the end, its your home not ours but the different style in every room is def too much and loses "flow". I'm sure itll look great when all done regardless!
Great house! I hope you and your family have many years of happiness in it. After you guys enjoy it and and get ready to sell it, please consider a sizable flooring allowance for the Buyer, so they too can enjoy this home as much as your family did.
I love the videos of the house progress, but im thinking about any home or parents home and its always 2-3 patterns throughout the house... its like every room has a different style, not my personal taste, but if you like it, or your wife does, happy wife happy life right?
So happy for your family. The house is beautiful. Show us the floor plan. I’d love to see how it’s all laid out. Keep the house videos coming. We love seeing the progress.
Black and white is already old and in the past. Something that can get old real fast. Im sure it's too late now but should have gone with something lighter and more modern.
I say black and white. It will for sure grown and will give it a nice rustic and antique yet modern aesthetic to the house. Adding to the value and style of the house. Also it will kind of match some other details to the house. However, if it is winter time... and you are barefoot... you’re dead. But there is always a solution to these kinds of problems. Marble it also a natural resource which it is a nice thing to say when bragging. Also marble will give the entry way a more dignified and uniform touch to the house. Wood is classic. There’s you’re problem. Wood is in almost every house in America. If if were you, I’d go with marble. Now let’s talk about them kitchen countertops!
Don’t overthink it. The continuity of wood floors will look better and hold the test of time. Decorate with furniture, paint and art and try not to get too cute with the flooring.
This is like a funhouse for flooring, it’s all over the place. Wood, cement tile, tile, carpet and marble...I was truly excited to see the inside of the house now not so much.
I'm a minimalist kind of person so all that tile is a lot for me. I like the idea of just keeping the front door area wood. Like another comment said, it'll be more uniform. From Leslie's perspective I guess having different tiles to show off is nice, but personally main flooring wood, bathroom same marbles, bedrooms same carpet, and wood for other rooms. I'm sure once the house is done, i'll probably change my mind. It's cool watching your house getting built though because it makes me think of how maybe I'll do this one day.
I think you should do wood floors and then do what they call a “tiled rug” which is basically a tile in lay which should be the black and white marble by the front door
To me personal the big bathroom with the herringbone marble design looks best, personally I would choose the same pattern for all wetrooms with floorheating to prevent your feet from freezing in cold mornings and nights. I think the laundry is hugeee like really huge you can have all the neighbour's to their laundry in there, personally I love chess but not on my floor, I would have preferred a wood (herringbone) pattern through the rest of the house as well as the entry (Im not a big fan of the black and white or gray and white marble tiles). But this is just my personal preference, I hope you choose something you like. BTW love these house update vids really nice to see how the house is getting from 0 to finished
omg, this man deserves a medal for dealing with his wife and this designer. I literally had to turn off the video at 4:35. The marble doesnt work for her lol.
Grey and white marble. It’s nicer than wood, looks more modern, and black and white just makes me think of a restaurant kitchen, not a kitchen/living room
So what i get from this is, both her and the interior designer are indecisive and grabbed 1 of everything in the store, and he secretly hates most of those rooms! 🤣
You should have gotten the marble from Makrana in India. They have beautiful naturally occurring patterns on the marble and would solve Leslie ma'am's problem regarding the marble looking dirty! Makrana is the place from where marble used in Taj Mahal were brought! Their sculptory is also too good! You must consider visiting India for this! Love you guys!!!😘
I like that y’all didn’t different flooring, it like a fun element of the home instead of doing other fun elements that are in your face. The bathroom marble herringbone is my fave & the kids bathroom💖
