What's great about this is that it makes it look more modern without changing the original essence of the film

That was FUCKING AWESOME! Seriously. Words fail me. I am speechless. You made the right choice for actor font and their brief shots, particularly's Jack's, and PERFECT for the music. But you ought not have included Joker's "Pale Moon Light" quote if this were a real trailer, cuz it would have given the game away that I think we don't learn until deep into the film (I don't recall, been a looooong time since I'd seen this). That would have undone bobcharlotte's critique.

I don't know if this would be in this trailer's best interest, but it may be nice to add "Summer 2011" at the end of the trailer (Bat Emblem)? Just a thought...

Very good opening, but the editing gets worse during the last minute of the trailer. Also, though a good idea, you should have flashed to a quick shot of Batman at the end instead of Wayne saying "What?". Other than that, good job!

Now if this trailer would have been the theatrical announcement trailer for the film back in early 89, this film would have made like 100 million more at the box office (it was already a success obviously). but trailers back then were shit, and this is bad ass! Great job.

I would say that when he first heard it, it rang a note of familiarity to Bruce and caused a suspicion to form as to whether he had seen Jack Napier before the plotline of the movie. Studying his face on the monitor and the subsequent flashback confirmed it.

I both agree and disagree. I think Nolan's Batman was needed to bring the character back to life movie wise and he did well, especially with Begins, but I do agree Bale's Batman feels more like a James Bond type. Love Keaton's suit, but I think both his and Bale's have their pros and cons. Still, I can't lie that I miss the rich dark, film noir Goth look of Burton's Batman and would love for a movie like it to be done again. Bale was a great Bruce Wayne, but Keaton the BEST Batman.

@collegeisamovie I tell it like it is. You should do one for Batman Returns, especially with all the hype over the new Catwoman (Hathaway) in the next Batman film.

Ummm.... okay, keep in mind it's really hard to impress me. This my friend, is one of the greatest things I've ever witnessed on youtube. This film reignites a film that was made more than 20 years ago, to say it's "great" is an understatement. You creativity will make you a really rich man, one day, if you aren't already.

good trailer but you reveal too many plot points like how the joker has tainted the products and what not, and shots were just not needed, you could have cut probably 30 seconds out and I think it would have been stronger, but still good job with what you've done.

honestly, now that I think about it, as much as I like this film, its basicalyy are darker take on the 1960s batman show, but when you look at batman comics before the bronze age (ie the silver age) it is pretty silly at points. but its still a very entertaining film

It was an exercise in how modern movie trailers are made, and very often only a small (if even) amount of the actual movie score is used. Plus, most of Elman's score doesn't fit the fast-paced intensity of what modern trailers are.

The use of a different score is really effective in making you look at the film in an entirely new and fresh way, which would otherwise have been redundant with another elfman scored fanmade trailer which has been done 1000 times before

This is indeed a contemporary-style trailer and it's well done but IMHO it shares the same things I hate about today's trailers: way too much fade-in fade-outs (it gives me a headache) and those slo-motions make it look more dramatic than it is in reality. Not every movie needs to feel gritty and somber (sadly this is Nolan's legacy): learn from the vibes that you get from THIS movie - and this movie never takes itself too seriously. Trailers from '80-'90 were way much better (movies too).

I really like this one, it's well made and it's very intriguing!! There is only one reason why it would have never worked in 1989, and it is that anticipates and reveals too much!! The original trailer was great for this reason, you see a fast rail of scenes without music and people get stunned, not knowing what they will expect!! Its trailer surely contributed to the amazing success of the movie!! However, this one is absolutely great, I like it a lot :D My best appreciations!!

visually its great but this suffers from the problem that most trailers do these days - they show too much. if i hadn't seen this movie, i wouldnt need to because you have just told me the entire story in 2 mins... start to finish... starting with bruce's family being killed at the beginning of the trailer to the battle with the joker at the end of it. a trailer should build anticipation to know more, not tell all. plus the fade to blacks are overdone these days...
