I remember waiting on the title screen of LEGO Batman: The Videogame for half an hour just to listen to this masterpiece. Nostalgia is like a drug ain’t it? 😢
I'd agree, except for the fact that the Batman: Mask of the Phantasm theme exists. Seriously, if you haven't heard that, you need to, because it it so fucking incredible
I was legitimately amazed when I heard this playing on the Batcave stage on Multiversus, I love that they decided to pick this theme to represent Batman in the game
@El Barto I can see that, the way it unlocks is when you get all the minikits in the hero levels, I never knew that until like 2 years ago when I had had the game for about 10 years
@@wethat9387 The first shot of Keaton in the Flash movie should look something like this. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wPL3dCBeWOQ.htmlm34s Then cut back to The Flash in complete awe and then the movie theatre audience does a standing ovation.
kind of funny that in Lego movies it's not Batman who is Bruce Wayne's secret identity, it's Bruce that is Batman's alter ego. (he wears the mask at home all the time XD)
It's just like John Williams' Superman theme. No one can capture the essence of the characters so purely and create a piece as iconic as these two gods of the music
@@sheriefwoodard8686 The opening to the first season is the same theme, but in the score they use a different one composed by Shirley Walker. They use the Shirley Walker theme for the openings of the second season and the movies.
@@usernameonutube John Williams has more Oscar nominations than any other human being in history and I wouldn't call his music minimal. Danny Elfman is just too good for them!
*Level Complete* *Free Play Unlocked* Minikit *1/10* Hero Super Kit *6/15* Super-hero *98%* *Continue Story* *The Batcave* Edit: Woah, over 800 likes? We've got a lot of old schoolers in here!
@@clockandballtorturewithcra5010 Mate wtf are you talking about “spitting in Keaton’s face”… He’s simply just paying respects to his favourite Batman, what’s your problem with that?
@@kawaii_chan8767 Honestly, this was more of a generic Batman theme, the best to be exact. The theme for the Dark Knight Batman was something else, it gets your adrenaline rising, while this theme gets you to feel a sense of triumph.
@@its_rontheron, this theme has no sense of triumph in it. It's actually Zimmer's Batman theme that has triumphant motifs. This one sounds more Gothic.
Man I feel old. Everyone in the comments keep saying how they remember Lego Batman by listening to this theme and here I am remembering the 1989 version of Batman, sucks getting old..lol
Crook: "Don't kill me man!!" Batman: "I'm not going to kill you, I want you to do me a favor. Tell all your friends about me." Crook: "What ARE you?!" Batman: (Drags crook closer) "I'm Batman." (Throws him onto the ground and swoops away.)
Burton's art deco/gothic style was the best way to transcribe the atmosphere of the Comics into film. And Danny Elfman retranscribed it in music. A duo of genius
"Don't kill me... don't kill me man!!!" "I'm not going to kill you, but I want you to do me a favor: I want you to talk with your friends about me." "Who are you?!!" ... "I'M BATMAN."
He also said" I want you to tell all your friends about me ". not "I want you to talk to your friends about me" but you don't see me correcting him like a now it all
As someone who used to play The Lego Batman games, this is so nostalgic Edit: I know it came from the 1989 movie, but Lego Batman was supposed to be similar to Tim Burtons Batman
"Batman? Batman? Can somebody tell me What kind of a world we live in, where a Man dressed up as a BAT, get all of my Press/ This town needs an Enema." - Joker, Batman 89.
The same should also be said about John Williams's definitive Superman March, which was reprised in both *Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes* and *Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham* in addition to Elfman's Batman material.
I think it’s gotta be the way the strings are used. Though the entirety of the orchestra is phenomenally done, the way Danny seems to emphasize the strings truly brings out the “magic” so to speak
Any variation of Danny Elfman's theme hasn't been in a film in over 25 years and it's still considered Batman's official theme by many. That speaks volumes.
I wish they would bring this theme back. Update it and make it fit the new Batman and whatnot. It just fucking works man, it's his theme. Even when Bond got rebooted they kept the classic James Bond score, that'll never change. Neither should the themes for Superman or Batman. But that's just me.
***** I count the TAS one as the same because it in a sense was an extension of this film in some minor ways. If BvS had the signature Supes theme and Batman theme in there I would get a helluva lot more pumped than what I have seen so far.
This reminds me of my early childhood all I used to play was LEGO Batman on the wii and I rember how insane this music was in the game and it just brings back so many lost memories
Danny Elfman got it right. After Batman Returns haven't heard anything come close to it in the other batman movies until The Batman where you can hear hints of it.
This theme really does have this sense of a hero's theme, like Superman's or Captain America's, had gotten thrown in a blender. Like, it's undeniably a hero's theme, but it's also dark and twisted, because you need to be sure that you know that it is in fact a vigilante "I fight alone in the dark" theme not a superhero "I fight for truth, justice, and the American way" theme. It has all the hallmarks of a hero, with dark twisting notes of someone who can't do their work in the light.
When I was a kid in the mid 90s, my mom made me a Batman cape, and I remember coming home and watching the animated series everyday after school and watching the movies many times over. I was a bit shy as a kid, so Batman was the perfect superhero for me.
I used to play batman when I was 4 before arkham asylum came out I've played the arkham games since I'm 12 now and I still love batman I miss lego batman
