As a fan of the Batman Arkham games, I love the Game Over sequences. They don't discourage me whenever I die, but keep me invested in the story. Each villains Game Over sequences, because sometimes they have more than 1, is distinct to each villain and fits their ego and personality perfectly. From Joker's maniacal laugh, Poison Ivy's seductive taunts, Ra's al Ghul's disappointment, Hugo Strange's ego-boasting, Mr. Freeze's cold demeaner, and Two-Face's final judgement among others, they are really fun to watch. So let's pretend No Way Home was a video game like Batman Arkham and imagine what each villain would say to Spider-Man should he fail in the campaign. I'll use dialogue from the films and try to come up with lines on the spot. Here goes: "Spider-Man: No Way Home" video game Game Over Death Scenes Doctor Octopus: - "With you gone, nothing will stand in my way. NOTHING." - "I'm sorry, Peter, but you should have stayed out of my way." - Otto and the Arms look at each other with arms whispering high-pitch screeches to Otto, "Yes, that's right..." arms and Otto proceed to look at the player/dead Spider-Man "This outcome was inevitable." - "Goodbye, Peter Parker." Electro: - Electro walks into frame, smiling. "What's wrong, Spider-Man? Feeling a little... shocked?" - "I told you..." Electro creates his mask out of electricity and speaks in the echo-tone from the final battle. "Ain't no way I'm going home." - Electro crouches over player/Spider-Man, looks at his hand releasing electricity. "God, I love it here." - "Hold up. Spider-Man's dead already? It must be my birthday." - "Bye-bye, Spider-Man." Electro turning to leave, quickly turns back to player/Spider-Man, smiling, and stomps them. Green Goblin: - "I told you, Peter. No good deed goes unpunished." - "A new world for the taking. And it's all thanks to you, Peter." - Goblin walks into frame. "Norman may not approve of this..." Goblin looks down at the player/Spider-man, smiling maniacally, "But in the end, he'll understand." - Goblin leans close to player's screen/Spider-Man's face, "BLURGHHHHHHHH." - "Ahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa." Norman Osborn: - "Oh, God. Oh, God, Peter, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." - "The Goblin. H-He did this, Peter. Not me, I had no part in it, I-I swear." - "Please Peter. Don't-Don't let him take me again." Norman's voice morphs into the Goblin's. - Norman approaches the player/Spider-Man "Peter..." before realization dawns on him. "No. What have I done?" Sandman: - "You said you'd get me home, Peter. You promised." - Flint has his arms crossed and shakes his head. "I knew I couldn't trust you." - A large angry Sandman crouches besides player/Spider-Man. "I didn't want to be fixed. I wanted to go HOME." Lizard: - Slowly approaching the player/Spider-Man. "Poor Peter Parker." - Connors, appearing lost-in-thought, holding his chin. "Instead of trying to fix me, as you so humbly put it..." Lifts up his head and sneers at the player/Spider-Man. "You should have tried to fix yourself." - "I am the next step in human evolution. You, however, are a downgrade." - Connors gets close to the player/Spider-Man and roars in their face. "RAWRRRRRRR." Yeah, I know some of these are corny. I'm not too proud of the Lizard ones. But I thought I'd give it a shot and imagine what it would be like if No Way Home was a game and there were Game Over scenes featuring the villains.

"i didn't want it to end like this Spiderman, I kinda hoped you'd put up more of a fight"

I love how Batman’s death screens are literally the villains taunting him and you saying aww I thought the bat was tougher then that or I didn’t think the bat was Bruce Wayne it’s a great way to keep the player invested in the game.

Alternate Green Goblin: You know I'm something of a game over screen myself

“🎵The itsy-bitsy Spider climbed up the water spout. Down came the Goblin and took the Spider out! 🎶”

Willem’s scream sounds like some dad’s sneeze

Lizard: “I told you there’d be consequences” Sandman: “I just wanted to go home” Doctor octopus: “I should have killed your little girlfriend when I had the chance” Electro: “ Looked who showed up. My old friend spider-man” Green Goblin: “Strong enough to have it all, too weak to take it!”

Willem dafoe just screaming and then the other two being silent is hilarious for some reason

This is an extremely accurate representation of "if Rocksteady started making Spiderman games," especially the perspective. The only thing missing is a little hint, like "Green Goblin's attack cannot be countered. Avoid the attack by dodging."

*Marvel has a villain problem* Willem, Alfred and Jamie: What are you smoking?

I will avenge you *fades away into dust* Lizard: Reptiles eat bugs, Parker. And right now, I'm feeling hungry... *camera zooms inside his mouth wide open to eat peter* Green Goblin: Well well well, I was right all along! We all wanted to see the hero fall, die trying. And in spite of everything you've done for them....they will always hate you... *kicks Peter's body and walks away*

Honestly i think more superhero games should have death screens like the arkham series it keeps the player invested and makes the villians a bit more charming
