This game deserves to be part of the Arkham bundle. Even though it wasn't made by Rocksteady it was still an awesome addition to the series. Really hope this game can maybe one day get a remaster.
“I’m sorry Victor, I can’t give you peace but I can give you justice.” Always gives me chills when I hear it. Arkham Origins is and will always be my favorite game in the Arkham saga! Happy new years everyone hears to a good 2024!
@@КонстантинПаршуков-о6бyeah but there was that part where Freeze detonates that cryogenerator or whatever it was to save Batman and Nora from the Militia ranks. They could’ve expanded that plotline, brought the XE suit back since maybe Batman can’t survive in the cold after the bomb is detonated.
@@LegendsLiterature Doubt Batman would've needed it after that, his suits are considerably refined post Arkham Asylum, so much so that in Arkham City those extreme temperatures don't mean much to him at all. Heck, even his Batmobile doesn't have any issues fighting in the ice.
A great adaption from Batman: The Animated Series ep "Heart of Ice", written by Paul Dini, who also wrote the story of "Asylum" and "City". Dini created this beautiful and tragic origin story for Mr. Freeze, and coincidentally it was Mark Hamill voiced Ferris Boyle back in the episode.
Deja vu, friend. Recreating the episode that Mr. Freeze have revenge and this game, Freeze want Ferris Boyle to get his wife out of GothCorp. So much for people company.
Just wanna say I really appreciate how carefully curated the videos on this channel are. From the Halloween Arkham Knight walkthrough to now this for New Years Eve, among many other great videos. You deserve every subscriber.
This is the best version of Mr Freeze in all of Batman. And this is the best DLC in the entire Arkham series. So much attention to detail in everything. They even addressed why we don't see the glue grenades in chronlogically later games.
They really didn’t cut any corners for this DLC. A fully explorable area of Wayne Manor chock full of detail that flows smoothly into the Batcave, a ruthless version of Freeze who’s honestly one of the most badass versions of the characters just by the way he carries himself and the way the VA delivers all his lines, getting to actually Bruce Wayne socialize which we didn’t get much of in the base game, all the phenomenally designed areas such as GothCorp and the nightclub, an extremely atmospheric and unique frozen aesthetic, a badass XE suit for Batman, a fantastic boss fight against Freeze that pays homage to his admittedly superior outing in City, but is original enough to stand on its own, and a really compelling story to cap it all off. This is by far the best DLC of the Arkham series and could’ve been expanded into an Origins sequel and it would’ve been great. Doesn’t get enough love, just like base Origins.
My heart is ice cold because this game didn’t get a remaster with the rest of the trilogy. (Thanks BAV for everything you have done. For saving me thousands of hours collecting little green trophies. Getting all the side missions and challenges, and everything. Truly thank you Daniel for everything, for never changing)
Arkham Origins is honestly one of my favorites of the series. It wasn't made by Rocksteady, but it's still very well made. The music that plays once you earn a skill point still gives me some chills. Roger Craig Smith more than proves he's a very worthy successor to Kevin Conroy, at least in my mind
Origins and Knight are my two favorite of the series I know everyone says City is the Best but Knight has the best gameplay and Origins the best story in my opinion
The 'Crime Scene' parts of Origins was always one of its best parts. I love that they used it to explain the origins of Mr. Freeze. In the end, he didn't cure her but he didn't fail her. They got as happy an ending as one can get in the Arkham universe.
15:20 I love that they’ve planned this interaction whenever they meet. Alfred’s definitely a great butler, and someone I’d trust with my double life as a superhero.
Origins had two of the best Batsuit designs in my opinion. Modern and advanced without feeling like a bulky Iron Man suit, until its actually narratively necessary to be that way in this dlc.
If Victor worked for Wayne Industries instead: Victor: "Mr. Wayne, my wife Nora, is dying from a rare disease, I need to cryogenically freeze her until I can develop a cure!" Bruce: "Tell me how much funding you need for this, I'll give you double!"
AGREED. first time i've ever seen a player get 102 combos or so many legendary and apex vigilante ratings!!! This was a very clean and professional play.
Origins’ janky ass physics is one of my favourite parts about it honestly. Just the sheer comedy of bouncing your enemies like a basketball after a strong hit and sending them halfway to the moon, never got old
Honestly, didn’t expect you to post this on New Year’s, I was hoping. Definitely didn’t expect it though! Hope everyone has a happy new year! Now all you have to do is post Arkham origins Blackgate full play through!
Om man i love this DLC I'm kinda disappointed that XE suit wasn't in Arkham Knight it's such cool looking suit it look like the hulk buster. Though i guess it would look really awkward if Batman couldn't get the batmobile with it
Would’ve been cool to see more special batsuits in this series. Each with their own abilities. The armored suit had B.A.T. Mode, this suit has thermal gloves, and the Arkham Knight suit has Fear Takedowns. Those two suits would’ve been cool additions to Arkham Knight.
Two badass lines: "Take a seat, Humanitarian", and "I'm sorry, Victor. I can't give you peace. But I can give you justice." The only real monster in the story, is Ferris Boyle. Serves you right, Boyle!
I think it's the most synchronous game to play at Christmas and then DLC in the New Year, I thought it was incredible that they released it on these two dates, even today it's still one of the games with one of the best Batman stories, it's one of my favorites and every year always i give it a "basic play" when it comes to this season, and even though years have passed i like this game a lot more than Asylum and City, it just doesn't beat Arkham Knight in my opinion, and I thank the channel lor for bringing these gameplays back to us at this time, it's incredible to see from people's comments that even today the game is aging like wine, but anyway... a Happy New Year to everyone you guys!!! 🎉🍾🥂🎵🎉
Hard to believe this took place a few days after Christmas. Arkham Origins story took place on Christmas night & Cold, Cold, Heart story takes place on New Year's Eve. Thank you Batman Arkham Videos for this video to end this year & start the new year with a bang.
I still think the origin behind the XE suit made no sense. He didnt know of Freeze in this game or ever encountered cryo tech that he would need the XE suit. Especially with how well he handled the weather during christmas. The fact that he had this made a week before new years is sick though!
Batman is known to be paranoid and likes to plan three steps ahead for situations such as the extreme cold weather. Or the time he built a Batcave beneath Arkham Island in case it got taken over by the worst of the worst.
My theory, since it's called the Extreme Environment Suit, not something like 'The Thermal Suit', implies to me that the suit is meant for any extreme temperatures, not just extreme cold, he may have developed it after the fight with Firefly and included a function for cold, just in case.
21:06 cool how he stopped to listen to the news report, other people wouldn’t do that. Also, I kind of like the idea of Batman listening to the news to get info on certain crimes
I was looking for this in your origins video and I was like aww lol. Love the way you weave between story and side quests so masterfully. HAPPY NEW YEARS!!! 🍾🍾
@BatmanArkhamVideos You have made this game way more awesome than it ever was! 👏🏻👏🏻The graphics and mechanics are beautiful! Thank you so much! I hope you had happy holidays and that 2024 turns out great for you! I pray that they release a remastered for this game. Because after comparing all of the Batman Arkham games, this one is the best out of all of them! ❤
Happy New Year's Eve and I love Batman Arkham Origins Cold Cold Heart where the Caped Crusader finds himself in the battle with one of his coldest goes, Mr. Freeze!!!😎
You knew exactly when to do what, where and how. Perfecting the challenges is one things but having a flawless run on a entire DLC is one a whole new level.
Such a wonderfully constructed, story and special combat/puzzle solving driven DLC. I have always loved the story for Mr. Freeze from Batman the Animated Series, and it was brought to new life before our eyes almost ten years ago. Fitting to upload it on New Year's Eve 2023, despite the actual release date being in April 2014. Rocksteady fans have something to look forward to, if fans can get past the snobbish, online transaction hating, "not true Batman fighting set" whiner trolls concerning Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. I was in Iceland, finishing up a tour of the Southern Coast, when I stayed up to watch the first gameplay demos for the SS game. Now, the coming February will see the release day for it. No intentional ice jokes made, just an interesting twist of happenstance thought I would mention. Mr Freeze, I do love you so much, in the Arkham series and other places too.
Mr. Freeze deserves his own solo Origin movie, im writing the screenplay treatment for it, its set in the same universe as Joker (2019), i hate Ferris Boyle, i really wish we get a dc story where Freeze kills Boyle
@@jaylenritch3864Same here better frame rate and graphics and just better fighting mechanics if possible but besides that yeah a remaster would be perfect instead of suicide squad kill the justice league
Would you ever in the future also do full game videos of the original versions of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City because the Return to Arkham versions never really appealed to me visually?
I don't care what haters say. Origins is underrated and I enjoyed it. Also, I wish for Origins 2. A lot happened during years between Origins and Asylum. Could be a chance to introduce some other villains and not let Joker be the main bad guy... again.
I own Arkham Origins on the PS3, but due to my lack of Wi-Fi at the time, I was unable to acquire this DLC Story. And sadly, despite the Arkham games recently getting rereleased on more modern consoles, mainly on the Switch, which I should also mention that they come with the DLC, Origins was not part of that pack. Meaning, that I couldn't revisit Origins and attempt to play Cold Cold Heart.
Love how he looks at all the pictures on the wall so we can see and take in everything also love how he stops and listens to the news broadcaster Letting us see all of that so we dont feel like we missed anything
This whole video is Batman w/ infinite prep time. He knows where everything he is, he never makes a single mistake, no-one can touch him. It might be spliced (I can't/won't prove either way) but it's stunning to watch.
Arkham origin is the only batman game i completely ignored, im not sure why i couldnt get into the game like arkham asylum, arkham city and arkham knight (love them 3). But Arkham origin is the one that stood out for the wrong reason for me personally (it didn't hit the soul for me as a gamer).
