@@thebigquack6945 I know and at one point in one of the other games I said “ shut up nerd ! “ and I’m my brain he said “ but you are like me a nerd “ to which I screamed “ get out of my head you fuck “😊
Jason Todd as a character has probably had the greatest redemption in comics. He literally was killed because people hated his ass and now as the red hood he’s like everyone’s favorite in the bat family.
Kudos to Jason for actually knowing Bruce’s Weak points I like the fact Arkham Knight is a personal villain for Batman, a man who knows how Batman moves, thinks and works, it’s really rare we see a villain like that
Jason: “YOU DID THIS TO ME” Batman: “I’m sorry” Jason: “You left me to rot in that abanded wing of Arkham for over a YEAR!!.... WITH HIM” Man that part hits too deep😔
All the Robins are his sons, even if Damian’s his only biological child. He may not be their father, but he sure is their daddy! *say that last line in a gruff Southern accent*
Jason is made out to be the bad guy here but honestly, he isn't a villain. He is just a broken hero. I love his character so much. Despite everything, he still did the right thing in this game.
I think it’s the fact that he hurts innocents I get his hatred towards Batman, and it’s justified, I’d be pretty pissy if I got tortured for a year and replaced But attacking the innocent? He’s better than thay
@@franticxprestige9548 in this universe he never died. Joker shot him in the armor and kept torturing him for a bit until he escaped during the events of Asylum. It’s explained in a comic
I feel that despite all the robins’ opinion on Bruce after getting raised by him, Alfred is universally loved and respected like he’s the loveable, cool and wise uncle or grandpa they never had. I feel like if he ever gets hurt or wounded almost to death, either of robins would snap and desperately try to find the perpetrator
@@marcusgabriel8365 thats 100% the case and also a good example given was when Alfred got killed in the Injustice comics. Even though Damian was on Superman’s side against Batman, he looked for Alfred’s killer in order to exact revenge

I thought Mark Hamill nailed it too. He made joker sound more sinister here than ever. It's just the little things about Mark's performance like that subtle croak in his voice when he asks Jason about Batmans identity in that last torture scene at around 15:10. It was masterful.
It’s so sad because Bruce tries to make him Robin even though Jason has never fit into that role perfectly. And Joker tried to mould him into his own weapon and pet project. It must seem to Jason, that he doesn’t know who he is. Bruce says he’s robin, joker says he’s a monster and he believes both of them and none at the same time. It breaks my heart. He’s just such a great and interesting character. Poor Jason
Did anyone else hate how Jason just abandoned the Militia at the end? I know they’re a bunch a mercenaries, but when you listen to one thread of dialogue, one of them says that Jason found him when we was “in a bad place, and heading for a worse one.” The men show a genuine trust and belief in Jason, and even after all of his talk of being abandoned by Bruce, ditches the Militia. I feel it would’ve been better if he had pulled them out of Gotham and just taken his work elsewhere. Who knows, maybe he and his men could have done some good.
I always liked how Jason had the Bat symbol painted on to his chest the last time you see him. If you go back to the Batcave after the events of the main story you can see a giant Red Hood symbol painted on the floor. Jason's way of letting Bruce know he's part of the family again.
@@rahmatumar1156 Sorry I should elaborate, it's not the actual batcave. It's Bruce's makeshift one in the middle of the city. The one where he has the Joker test subjects locked up with Robin.
Imagine hearing that. This dude assembled an army, he's teaching them Batman's tactics and weaknesses, and still says you ain't shit compared to him lol
@@TheFoxHound626 batman didnt replace jason, tim came to bruce knowing his secret already and wanted to partner up. But batman was in a dark point so he didnt want a partner
One of my fav parts is 25:07 when Batman is getting off Jason u can see his hands up but u can also see how scared he was and I feel like when Bruce was about to punch him he got a flash back to when he first met Jason and how scared he was being on the streets and knew that Jason was upset and scared more than angry
@@zaidanahnaf9431 there's a part in Batman Begins where Fox was showing Bruce Wayne the Batmobile and Bruce asked if it came in black like Jason is saying
It’s so annoying to me how right when Jason finally kind of submits, Batman turned away to talk to Alfred, as if that wasn’t an extremely fragile moment and his one opportunity to grab Jason and bring him home. When he stayed quiet and held his head down after Bruce said they could fix this, that was an indicator that Jason partially wanted him to take him, and was overcome with his conflicting emotions for a moment, which would have been the perfect time for Batman to restrain him or even gently hold him (which we all know Jason needed). When you talk to a trauma victim who is reacting like Jason, it’s very fragile and you have to keep complete focus on them or else they will run or do something crazy, it was so stupid of Batman to turn away right at that perfect moment when Jason was finally, after the WHOLE GAME, letting his guard down around Bruce. He really could have grabbed him or gotten through to him in that little moment.
He still had to free Gordon, and Scarecrow was right upstairs. Not to mention the 14 other things he had to do that night (Riddler, Hush, Deathstroke, Penguin, Two-Face, etc.)
@@Kooluvr-jd4pz shut up clown ur telling me to grow up? Look at ur pfp first I don’t understand how a clown like u ended up in a batman video get out and go to some cringe video
If my calculations are correct, the joker kidnapped Jason, tortured him for six months, showed him a picture of Tim as the new Robin, kept him in Arkham for over a year total, shot him, and sent the video to Batman. Meaning Batman received "confirmed death" AFTER he had already replaced Jason. This game is fun as hell to play but it makes Batman seem like the worst father in the world.
Love how everyone keeps saying bruce replaced Jason. No he didn't. He didnt go out and find a Robin. Tim went to Bruce knowing his secret already. And wanted to join his mission. If you guys remember that was a dark time for bruce he Didnt want another partner.
He was still replaced. Just because he initialy didn't want another Robin doesn't mean that he didn't get another one to replace Jason At the end of the day, Batman belived a video sent by Joker and didn't search for Jason and replaced him. It's still the same no matter how you spin it
@@boltmix7294 again he DIDN'T replace jason just like jason didnt replace dick. Plus again tim looked for batman not the other way around. Non of the Robin's where to replace the other. Dick needed to be robin so HE wouldnt be a another batman. Jason became robin so he escaped the bad path that he was on. Tim literally went out of his way to find out who was batman and literally help him calm down after Jason's death. Which shows he still deals with it in knight. Like bruce said that's not easy as oh I'll get another robin. If someone remarried after there previous partner died would you say they were replaced? No never. Same concept on "replace" your son
Little late to the party, but Jason’s voice actor did an amazing job! The way he captures the emotions just right is incredible! I also believe he voiced Sam Drake from Uncharted
- It's... I've found Jason. - Excuse me, sir, I must have misheard you. For a moment, I thought you said that you'd found Master Todd... - You heard right. -...My God. Is he alright? - No. *No, he's not...* 😔
4:22 never realized that he just shot him in the lung and gave him a tension pneumothorax and batman just performed needle decompression on himself... shit's insane...
Local_ Hotpotato from what I’ve gathered from a quick google search, tension pneumothorax or a collapsed lung occurs when air escapes from the lung into the chest, building up air pressure. A method to resolve it is through needle decompression, where a thin needle is inserted into the area to reduce air pressure. The gunshot basically lacerated Batman’s lung, releasing air into his chest. Batman had to act quickly by depressurising his chest to avoid suffocating or having a heart attack due to the lack of oxygenated blood returning to his heart. Hope this helps!
You don’t know what I’d give to have an Alfred x Jason reunion. I know Bruce must’ve loved Jason but can you imagine how much Alfred must’ve grieved over little 13 year old Jason dying? The kid he used to tell to go to sleep because it was past his curfew now dead somewhere. And finding out he’s alive? Alfred must’ve went crazy himself trying to locate Jason. God I’d pay good money to see that
Why doesn’t DC never continue the story after they find Jason? Like in Under the Red Hood or this game. I just want to see Jason reunite with the Batfamily
For someone who didn't know who Jason Todd/Red Hood finding who the Arkham Knight was, was something that impacted me really hard and it was amazing, the reveal, the little details of who he is and and why he knew so much about Batman was really great, and i love how after the reveal of the Arkham Knight they changed it to Red hood that everyone knows
@@madhatter2313 How about a series where Dick, Tim, Damien and Jason are all trying to claim the bat mantle in various ways. Suddenly instead of one solitary Batman, the Brotherhood of the Bat is working together to squash crime all held together by heir leader, Alfred Pennyworth.
It has been years, but I still come back to this game. The story, everything, it all is such gorgeous work. Jason Todd was a great thought out character.
jason todd is by far my absolute favorite character of all time and one of the most underrated. his entire life story is so incredibly interesting to me & he is such a strong character. he’s been through so much and has suffered over and over. this king deserves a big ass hug
Agreed- he’d come off as some bratty edgelord if he didn’t have such damn good reasons to be. His life has been shit and that’s a fact if you pay attention to what’s happened to him at all. And why the hell wouldn’t he think that Batman left him to die, everyone else in his life deemed him worthless. I can’t condone what he does, but the man has my sympathies.
Can we all agree that when Jason reveals his identity that his voice actor, Troy Baker, does an amazing job at demonstrating his pain and betrayal? You can feel the anger that he has towards Bruce because of what joker did to him
TheMasterBasher well he said "like" to so he's just keeping harley around for someone to abuse and apparently have sexual intercourse as evident by the numerous pregnancy tests harley had taken prior to arkham city
Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill both did so phenomenally well as the voice actors, it's crazy. RIP Kevin Conroy, your voice acting work for Batman is transcendental and will never be replicated to such a degree ever again.
22:18 I like the subtle transition the Jason makes from Arkham Knight, to what appears to be the beginnings of Red Hood. Even the armor panels on his chest go from blue to red.
And catch this: the suit probably has some mild form of active camouflaging capabilities. Would it be so crazy to assume that the suit turned red because it’s in a red room lit up by bright red lights?
Late comment but that never made sense to me why he had both red hood and Arkham knight. Batman would not know who he is either way. If this Batman can’t figure out that the Arkham Knight was Jason, then he wouldn’t be able to figure out Jason is Red Hood either.
Jason deserved a better last boss fight than what we got. I always shake my head when I think of the potential of a visceral Arkham Knight boss fight. All of Batman's skills plus lethal weaponry, Arkham Knight knows all of Bruce's tricks. This isnt some militia goon, this is a Robin in the flesh. They even foreshadowed the suicide vest that he developed and I thought that he was gonna have one integrated into his suit and we would have to battle him and find a way to disarm the bomb before taking him out. All the remaining goons could come out to play at once and you face like fifty of them at once, including Jason. Then in the next portion, you could keep the sniper portions of the battle but expand it to be a 1v1 predator battle, with Bruce being hunted at the same time as being the hunter. AK still snipes Batman, but you don't know where he is. Maybe he darkens the room briefly everytime he notices you getting close to him and youre knocking around in the dark as you try to find him via detective mode or echo location. You could have all the militia tricks, like homing in on detective mode, mining vantage points, thermobaric charges, scrambling Batman's signal all in one enemy. Imagine Batman is skulking around in the vents only for Jason to show up right in front of Batman in the same vent and attack him. And then to end off, a gruelling death match between Bruce and AK, no goons, no stealth, no tricks, just fists, weapons and reflexes. Batman is trying to get through to Jason and ends up pulling punches until he is fighting for his life. It could be a really intense and drawn out show down that could finally showcase Jason's skill level and actually be challenging rather than repeititive and easy.
Still a better boss fight than DeathStroke. THAT was a ruined boss and the fact that Deathstroke is a more skilled and deadfull opponent than Arkham Knight/Red Hood
@@lonecolamarine hey dude, don't wanna kill your buzz but you're getting your Matthews confused. The one you're thinking of is Matt Lanter. Matt Mercer is the guy that plays luke skywalker in battlefront 2. Also, a lot of good video game characters in the past 10 years. And some Warcraft stuff as well. And let's not forget being the DM of the biggest D&D podcast ever, big enough to get over $9 million in crowdfunding for a series about the campaign. In a day.
Honestly Bruce should have just Hugged it out, it would have made more sense why Jason came back. Jason is just Disappointed in Bruce for forgetting about Him and replacing him with another Robin when in reality You probably know what happened. Sadly he’s Mentally Broken. It would have been such an sad Scene but Of course Bruce Gotta be Cold hearted to his sons and Beat the shit out of them (Except Damian)
11:43 Batman: I'm fine, Jason... Tim. Robin: You haven't done that for a while. Batman: Shut up, Dick. Robin: ... Batman: ... Robin: There's one left, come on. Batman: Right behind you, Damian.
Something I've noticed about red hood is that due to his anger on Bruce not finding him (more so feeling betrayed and felt as if Bruce didn't try) he used pistols. Deep down he felt as if using a pistol would be more so avenging to himself. Killing Bruce with a pistol would remind of his parents death
Troy Baker is a phenomenal voice actor and he got all the emotions right for Jason in the scene when Batman finds out the truth, but since the Arkham Knight sounded like a angry kid for the whole of the game, it was easy to tell that it was Jason Todd (for anyone who is familiar with the comic story and that was before all the flashbacks with Joker) very early on. In the Red Hood animated movie, Jensen Ackles played a very subtle and excellent performance as Jason throughout the film and only became emotional at the end where he and Batman came to blows with Joker. That is how Arkham Knight should have handled the character, which would have made the reveal all the more emotional for Batman and the player to experience.
that was what gave it away too,i think. The Arkham Knight's taunts were so bratty it becomes quite obvious who it is very early on, which was a shame imo since his design looks so cool and mature, but as soon as he opens his mouth and talks in that altered voice i'm just like "ok, Jason. Daddy Bat's gonna come getcha, please stop talking you're so much less cool now" Still really enjoyed the game though! And i was still excited when Jason revealed himself.
Idk though I still really like the way they handled him. It definitely caught me off guard. I mean I had a clue but what really made me sure was when I bought the red hood DLC and saw you can change skins from red hood to arkham knight. So that kinda ruined it. I still like the way he handled it tho.
As a comic fan I legit sorta could tell just from the fact that Jason is also petty and edgy so of course he would dress up ike batman and give himself the name arkham knight as a big FUCK YOU towards batman. He's always been a bratty little asshole, but I've grown to love him though.
Idc what nobody says I fucking loved the Arkham Knight even if I did know that he was Jason Todd. His voice when the mask is on, the surprise attacks, the fact that he’s the perfect villain because he knows almost everything about Batman and his tricks and his amor weak spots I LOVED IT
I personally think the game was awesome, the only big problem I had with It Is the lack of proper Boss fight, considering how awesome those were in the other games, and how much some of them are heavely teased
SubZero1065 agreed but boss battles aren’t what make the game and people focus on the little things the game lacks rather than the big things it excels in
Shit, even after almost 6 years I love the reveal scene. A part from the emotion and everything, this guy is just badass. The way he turns his two guns into a sniper rifle, removes his old mask and shows the "Red Hood" one while the suit changes color from blue to red... just fucking awesome...
It's actually different gun. If you see closely you saw that the gun jason use to threaten batman is small and the for the sniper is big, the small one is get knocked of by batman and then jason pull out the new one
@@Buterballer realistically speaking aiming for his limbs is almost pointless as he’s geared to disarm you and move quickly and the bat symbol attracts attention and as a result you subconsciously aim for the symbol/chest instead of the limbs

Adriel Torres, I do too, he could've been a hero, but the joker took that away from him. Now, even though he fights for the innocent, he's no better than the criminals he murders
@@3headedsnake388 it's because he was tied up in the air for long hours when Joker tortured him and this cause blood circulation problems and muscle problems. His back and shoulders are permanently damaged. You can notice that his back is a lot more protected than the front and that there is no pattern on his back therefore drawing the attention to the front. Also, in the red hood dlc he is not able to move correctly one of his shoulders when he fights. His ankles are also damaged because Joker used to brake them with a crowbar so that he could not escape (he breaks them multiple time since it takes around 6 weeks for bones to heal and jason was there for around about a year and a half so yeah do the math) but I doubt this affects his posture and they also are more protected like his back and shoulders. If you compare his posture to other characters you can notice he is hunching.
