I like how they seem to have an enthusiasm and attentiveness to the timeline in terms of how this story fits in without disrupting established canon, the known inconsistences, and even considerations of tie-in media. Rocksteady strikes me as never being very preoccupied with their established timeline lore pieces and making sure details line up as much as just focusing on the current entry. The same for WB Montreal.

Im not gonna hate on it being a VR. I didnt before, but goddamn, theese guys actually seem to care more than anyone at WB. Maybe it's said to be an exclusive now to push the exclusivity and power of the Meta Quest for marketing, but maybe eventually WB decides to have it ported to other systems to expand the reach. according to the offiicial arkham timeline, origins is set during bruce's second year as batman, dick becomes robin during his fourth year, he later becomes nightwing during bruce's sixth year, jason becomes robin during his seventh year, and then dies the same year tim becomes robin. I'm assuming the game is set around the time dick is still robin, so we'll probably at least get to see him, but i'm not sure we'll get to see jason.

@@cantsuggestareasonablename9101 I did and I never said it couldn't I said I don't know if its possible. they may have said they "translated it" but we have no idea what they mean by that. like the player themselves are doing the moves surely its VR it ain't going to be the same as the free flow combat in the arkham games. the stealth sections I think will be great but hand to hand combat going to be janky unless you put a lot of time into figuring out what looks cool. Now stop being passive aggressive for no reason whatsoever.

The reason why I questioned if you really watched the interview because Ryan Payton himself started that they pretty much nailed the Arkham combat well not nailed but they accomplished their goals for a traditional Arkham combat but being on vr . Don’t expect the experience to be flying across the room whilst punching someone in the face because that doesn’t exactly translate to vr. Free flow combat can be good even if you tweak and change some things. In this particular case the free flow combat is particularly fitted for vr only. Anyways I’m not sure why you thought that I was passive aggressive and took my overall question too seriously like jeez man I’m not trying to anger you or troll you just wanted to know that if you even bothered to watch the interview in the first place. Chill.

It sounds like this is going to be a really good game, and I get this was approved in 2020. It is just unfortunate timing because after Suicide Squad, because right now a quality Batman Arkham game that is accessible to the majority of gamers is desperately needed, and that makes this game a cruel tease. I can't imagine that many people that follow the Arkham series, have a Metaquest 3, and are going to spend the money for it, especially if you chose the PSVR2 and just got burned by it.

with regards to continuity, I don't mind if they disregard stuff from the tie-in comics. They contradict the games so often that they can be ignored entirely. But if they tweak elements from the comics to make them fit the game continuity, I'm all for it

To the people saying we shouldn't be upset that this is a VR exclusive, read this This is only my example but I'm sure a lot of people can relate. I'm not very thankful that the game is a meta quest 3 exclusive considering how absurdly overpriced the VR set is, i live in Brazil, and I'm a die-hard batman fan, trust me, i WOULD buy this game if it was on PC or Consoles but a Meta Quest 3 is worth R$4000 on not very trustworthy sites to R$5100 on trustworthy sites, to translate, that's 3 to 3.9 minimum wages and that's not even counting the price for the game itself, which will probably be about a third or more of a minimum wage, me and a LOT of other Batman Arkham fans i know got very upset with this game being a VR exclusive due to how overpriced the sets usually are (R$1000 to R$2000 for most VR sets) but a Meta Quest 3 exclusive is pushing it too far, that alone already locks me and a lot of low-medium income people out of playing the game due to the sheer price alone, how many months do you think someone would have to save to buy that sort of stuff? I own an Xbox Series X, which is the last gen available, costs about R$3000. This is about 2.3 minimum wages, yet the meta quest costs 3.8???

Not everything revolves around your country though. In most places, the quest 3 is the same price as the new xbox but offers free online, pc connectivity and other use cases outside of gaming. Its just a much better deal. That being said, its very unlikely that s new arkham game is coming to the series X. If they would even make a new arkham game for consoles that game is 5-6 years away, the ps6 and new xbox will be around by that time. So youll have to buy a new console to play a new arkham game anyway You dont have to play this game on release btw. If you dont have the money available just play it later, technology gets cheaper over time. Quest 2 already dropped to 199$ new and 100-150$ used and same will happen to quest 3 in ~4-5 years

If the game wasn't for quest3, it wouldn't exist anywhere. Yes, and strange logic, there are many expensive goods that are more important than games that I would like to buy, but cannot afford (house, cars, medical services, etc.), should I be upset about this?

@@EL63539 Wheter or not its a unique VR game. Its still a vr game rather than a traditional Arkham Game A good amount of fans aren't going to buy a whole meta quest 3 to play this one arkham game I'm not saying it will be bad just that people won't be bothered to buy hardware to play it

As a VR enthusiast, I should let you all know that the Quest 3s is coming out later this year and is rumored to be nearly half the price of the Quest 3. It will give you access to the game but if you can, get the Quest 3. The pancake lenses in the Quest 3 is a breakthrough in VR tech that makes it far more usable for the average user. Far more clear than fresnel lenses BUT if it’s too much the Quest 3s WILL be an option in early October.

I’m tired of seeing ppl complain that it’s VR. These ppl wanna give you an amazing game from an awesome prospective. Honestly this games announcement makes me want to get a Meta Quest 3 which I’ve wanted a VR set for awhile now. I’m excited to see how this game turns out and even if I don’t get to play it, it will be fun to watch Gameplay like for Batman VR

@@baconchickenforty-two9208Yeah, actually, i know a lot of people who love the arkham franchise and a grand total of zero of them own or want a VR set, either because it's overpriced (we live in Brazil, one VR headset would cost like 2 minimum wages, and this price isn't even referring to meta quest 1 or 2, LET ALONE 3) or just not worth it due to lack of content Edit: Just checked, meta quest 3 is worth 3 minimum wages

It seems like the game is going to be really high quality. I like where this is going. The developers are really trying to make it feel like another Arkham game, not just share the same name. At first I thought that it was called Arkham just for marketing purposes, but now I’m really impressed after watching this video. Huge respect to the developers
