Firebug is a perfect example of someone from the Batman universe that is clearly sick, his brain is actively making hallucinations. He didn't deserve do die, he needed help. Like Trickster from the Flash, guy just needs to take his damn medicine.
As one of my favourite Batman villains, I really want to see how they interpret him, but I’m also afraid for the characterization. I’m really hoping they solve an interesting characterization for him or play into one properly instead of just essentially making him an extensive plot device. A lot of stories have done that with him. So if they do adapt him, I pray they make something interesting of it!
I would imagine he’ll be more in line with his golden age incarnation who was all about experimenting with fear the hard way, no gas or toxins to help him out, just psychological warfare and jumping people to scare the bejeezus out of them.
There's no way I would've caught this. I watched that show a lot, and it wasn't until this reaction, and now it's as obvious as if mickey mouse was there.
I think that is the most cruel thing I ever saw a cop do in a animation, let a demented assassin loose in a high density poor neighbor hood is crazy shit. I never had that much chills with an animation. I'm not in favor of portraying police in that bad of a lighting, but man I feel that is especificaly what gives the whole scene this much power, well at lest for me.
I told you they cook in this episode!! I think mark Waid said that if you can’t picture your Batman holding a child, you’re not doing it right. I love the aspects of year 1 being written seamlessly with firefly and on top of that continuing the GCPD story and the political intrigue there. Just a masterclass in animating storytelling. Year one has a very similar sequence where he’s being hunted by the cops and he’s trying to save a cat from getting shot at, very similar stuff to this. 10/10 episode and I’m so happy that you seemed to like it as much as I did. Can’t wait for you to see a lot of the other characters!!
Every time I heard of Firebug's voice, it makes me think of a bit of Simon Petrikov. For a man who is fascinated with fire, his cold personality makes him more dangerous and Tom Kenny really outdid himself with the performance very well since his role of The Penguin.
Probably one of my favorite episodes of the season! It was great seeing the GCPD trying to catch Batman! Firebug was such a creepy character and I love it!
Firebug reminds me of TF2 Pyro how he sees the world is totaly different to the rest of us thou that was almost too dark idea, Getting Harely to tell them that he after criminals was great makes them realise they are in his way, An intersting episode trying to catch Batman and failing terribly and at same time the corrupt cops making them selves heroes to the media.
Until you pointed it out Omn1 I never even noticed Lois when I was watching it but that is a cool little detail. The other day I was thinking since this is a spiritual successor to BTAS what if in the future we got a STAS successor in this same universe and then a JLA or JLU show as well. I’d be unbelievably hyped if the plan was to recreate that entire universe.
Hay omn1media The Lois lane that you see this is the same Lois lane from superman 1941 tv show, that means that batman caped crusader and superman 1941 are in the same universe
Yeah, since Plastic Man could totally show up I wouldn't be surprised if other famous heroes make appearances, like how The Batman show introduced the justice league later on.
