The Chili dog thing, ngl, would probably work, but only once. If you missed your shot with that, then that lure is wasted. He has other impelling motives, but this is a decent start. Honestly, Barry Allen would be a great foil not just to Sonic, but plenty of his allies.

It should of ended with the last thing Batman saying to be "But if all else fails, I know somebody faster than him."

Sonic has been captured on multiple occasions. Granted, in each case he eventually escaped, either alone or with help, but it shows that he's not invincible.

I liked this, only flaw I noticed is that Batman didn't take into account how Sonic can canonically boost mid air in a single direction, meaning that even if he was floating he could still get away

Imagine a contingency plan for Fleetway Sonic and Archie Sonic cause both of them have crazier stuff then game Sonic (well for Fleetway it’s if you consider Sonic the Comic Online since he gets his own hyper form)

If Batman matches to retrieve Sonic’s quills you can use it to make some discovery breakthroughs with power or machinery develop. Long as it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands like Lex Luthor. Especially the chaos, emeralds or the master emerald so he can use it to improve his power source to his suit as well as make profit gain for energy source. And the power rings to go through other dimensions.

"Manipulate time and space" Well... I guess. I was about to say 'that's Chaos Control, not his speed' but then I remembered Sonic CD. And... I dunno if that plan would actually work. Sure, Sonic likes chili dogs, and a large mountain of them would draw his attention... but I also think that if he's in the sort of situation where Batman needs a contingency plan for him, Sonic wouldn't fall for it, because he'd know it's a trap. And yeah if Super/Hyper Sonic is involved, Batman'd be fucked.

I actually really like how Batman admits that Super Sonic basically can't be defeated. It actually helps drive in home just how powerful the Chaos Emeralds are, and how important it is for them to not fall into the wrong hands. I'm really, really glad you came to that conclusion! Also, one thing that should be mentioned is Sonic's own "Spidey sense" where he sneezes when there's impending danger. I think that there should also be taken into account since if he starts sneezing, that'd certainly mean that any plan has been potentially blown

I've read some theories that Sonic is actually holding back most of the time. The idea basically comes down to several enemies have copied not only his abilities but the abilities of several others, like Knuckles and Shadow. Then Sonic fought and beat them, often without even using Super Sonic. This happened in one of the Sonic Riders games and Sonic Battle where he defeated Emerl in under 30 seconds. This is suggested to indicate that Sonic is playing most of the time, but when he gets serious, he puts 100% into his efforts. So, this contingency may fall short anyway if that is true.

One problem (since this is game sonic) One of sonics key weaponry is his inability to be perfectly countered, hes always acting, quick on his feet. Second, sonic has 2 danger senses, his classic sneeze which alerts him right to the danger, and his line sense in frontiers. Traps for game sonic, even if elaborate, are less likley to succeed. Sonic has also been shown to posses the capability of high pseudo flight, meaning with limits, he can move freely through space, thus reinforcing sonics concept, hes like the wind, strong, unpredictable, and quick. Sonic is also capable of moving beyond light even without turning super or needing lightspeed shoes. These things alone cause many complications with batmans plan. Trapping him wouldnt work, the best plan is a laced chillidog, but remember sonics senses..the line is moreso for danger, the sneeze for effect (even if they both do the trick for the same situation) id say Archie, but sonic in frontiers added this feat, as if he has the manipulation of fate, in the grand scheme of things, sonic never actually loses. He did manage to beat death with fate against him. Now we have show sonic..cant be X, X showed briefly that sonic was unable to be caught in terms of his speed, in other words...the cameraman actually missed sonic, whereas the cameraman always follows flash. Prime sonic is like game sonic and archie mixed in some areas, taking the unpredictability even FURTHER BEYOND. (Had to do that) So this has to be boom sonic, whos both lacking intelligence, and is very predictable, and actually hits like a cannonball, he could definitely be stopped this way.

Tip for Super Sonic, use the same machine Eggman used in Unleashed

Not going to lie this could work, but the main thing about this is what the anti-gravity thing in the special stage of sonic lost world sonic has shown boosting to propel himself through this non-gravity space so Sonic’s Boost ability could be a problem but Batman can go for the robot approach. Batman made one for himself. After all, it’s one of the contingency plans for himself. If he ever falls out of line, the robot is able to adapt accordingly to Batman’s movements, and his strategic thinking, so a Batman metal sonic could work.

Honestly Sonic has the homing dash so he can still go around and go find tales to disable it

Do a Contingency Plan for Sterling Archer (Archer), that'd be a good one. Despite being human Archer does still whole the title of "World Dangerous Spy" and he had shown plenty of times to be a true and serious threat being a very unpredictable force.

Can you do one on Eggman? Eggman is probably the one guy who might have the advantage on Batman on technology, though not combat. As Eggman has built a fleet of battle spaceships on his own, mad machines that can harness the power of demigod and use it as his own

The thing is, he has moves that propel him thoroughly air, regardless of ground level, like homing attack and boost.

The only flaw I can think of that might screw up all of Batman's plans is if Sonic is carrying the Chaos Emeralds on him or not. In Sonic Unleashed he was shown to have already collected the Chaos Emeralds and could summon them at any time when he wanted to transform. So even if Batman manages to trap Sonic in one of his traps, as soon as Sonic goes Super Sonic he'll be completely fine and could easily just fly away. The only way for Batman to counter Super Sonic would be if he had a similar machine that Eggman had in Unleashed which forced Super Sonic to lose his transformation, however even that being said Batman would need to find a way to keep Super Sonic grounded long enough for him to activate the machine. Eggman himself only managed to get one over Super Sonic because he caught him off guard since he had been pretending to give up which caused Super Sonic to become distracted long enough for him to spring his trap. Since Batman wouldn't handle the situation like Eggman did then I don't see how Batman would go about trying to distract Super Sonic long enough to trap him again. If he happens to be in the immediate area (which idk if he would) then maybe he can reveal himself and Super Sonic might become distracted by the man dressed like a bat in the middle of the day in the middle of nowhere for long enough for Batman to trigger his hypothetical trap. But assuming Batman either isn't in the area or doesn't get there on time then I feel like Sonic would escape.

There is only one main issue I see here. Sonic could escape at any point as long as he has even a single Chaos Emerald, and possibly even without one. The reason? Chaos Control. In Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic is able to survive the detonation of his pod as he is sent into space by using Chaos Control. The biggest thing about this is the trifecta of extra details about him being able to use Chaos Control. 1: Sonic had only seen the technique used for the first time *recently.* And on top of that, it was the first time he even tried performing the technique. 2: He didn't even know if it would work in the first place, so it was a desperate gamble that paid off. 3: And finally the big one, in that the Chaos Emerald he used was a _fake_ one. In short, Sonic pulled a Goku and was able to perform a technique he had only seen used _one_ time and used it in a last-ditch effort, without even knowing if it would even work. Then he managed to perform it himself with a _fake_ Emerald, not even one of the actual Chaos Emeralds was needed to be able to perform the trick.

I mean, the chili dogs would likely make him your friend, thus ending the threat.

Sonic is a guy who's saved the world from being blown up, saved the world from being blown up, saved the world from being blown up AND saved the world AFTER it was blown up. and let's not get into how many times he's saved reality from a space-time multiverse collapse.

Contingency plan for Sonic if he goes rogue? In conclusion: *We are are all royaly fucked* Not only do you have to deal with the immeasurable speed base form with Multiversal levels of strength, you then have to figure out backups for his Darkspine form, Excalibur form, Super Sonic, Super Sonic 2, Cyber Super Sonic and Hyper Sonic. He can control space and time like a toy with chaos control (being able to stop time, travel through time, teleport, etc), with Sharha’s Ring on hand he literally can’t die, Excalibur just straight up ignores immortality, Super Sonic defeated the present version of Solaris who threatened to destroy all existing timelines in Sonic’s cosmology including Maginaryworld (which puts him at 5-D in terms of ap), Super Sonic 2 has a parry that can block ANY attack so long as he can react to it (which shouldn’t be a problem as he has immeasurable speed), and Cyber Super Sonic blitzed and killed two beings capable of completely walking Super Sonic in a single attack, one of them being the literal concept of death in Sonic’s verse, The End. And Hyper Sonic is just the pinnacle of Sonic’s transformations.

The way Batman talks about this Sonic's waryness, caution & natural instincts & baiting him with food makes me wonder if he got confused & briefly thought Sonic the Hedgehog was just a normal hedgehog that just so happens to really like chilli dogs.

Man batman isn't taking into account that sonic gets faster and stronger by being alive all containment must take into account a prison that prevents speed or strength to be a viable escape option. Even worse sonics speed allows him to travel to other dimensions or parallel universes so any prison would have to prevents that ,eggman imprisoning sonic during forces is a feat that becomes more impressive the more you understand sonics powers.

Request to have the file renamed, 'Blue Blur' or even 'Gotta' Go Fast.' Counteraction to Super Sonic: Pray you can wait it out. He can't stay in that form forever.

This plan doesn't account for Sonic's boost ability. He can in fact propel himself without the need for ground friction, and can do so in the vast majority of his games. This is an ability shared by all versions of Sonic. Classic, adventure, and modern Sonic each have their own version. Still, this plan is definitely a good start. Potential additions may include the use of hostages, which worked in SA2, a chaos energy extraction machine, which worked in Unleashed, or paralyzing electrical shocks, which worked in Battle.

Need to do an ongoing series of these with Batman trying to catch the Road Runner, with later expositions covering how the physics suddenly changed unexpectedly and caused the plan to fail.

A better contingency plan that will never fail: Keep Sonic on the straight and narrow, and don't piss him off. He'll only become a threat if: A. He's corrupted or possessed by something (Sonic.EXE style). B. He's provoked into going hostile, probably with his home, friends, or family being harmed. Mere taunting or mockery will likely just cause him to ignore you and leave. C. He feels he, or an innocent bystander, is in immediate life-threatening danger, although this one only applies to the bad guys. Basically, don't make him angry, and ensure he stays away from demonic artifacts, all will be well. And if you do piss him off, just back away slowly and give him some space. He'll eventually get bored and leave on his own accord without violence, akin to Sonic CD. As far as containing him if he goes Sonic.EXE mode, somehow... well, that's where things get tricky. Defusing a situation with regular Sonic can be as simple as just ignoring him and letting boredom do the work for you, but considering Sonic.EXE is most likely to involve a demon of some description, it'd be wise to have demon-fighting artifacts handy, such as a cross, holy water, and perhaps a Priest or two, to try and bring Sonic to his senses.

I actually like that in this scenario, Batman may have to start from scratch if Sonic is able to become Super Sonic.

I mean technically nth metals anti gravity effect might not do much to incapacitate sonic as we see in most games he isnt really effected by gravity to begin with, i mean in sonic colors eggman land is just in space. And even if there is an atmosphere to it, sonic outruns a buffed black hole in space plus he still has the homing attack which does not require him to be on the ground. He would probably just homing attack or drop dash out side of the nth metal area or until the effects wear off

What about his homing attack, he can pretty much home on to anything, not only that he has air dashes. And if he has at least one emerald he use chaos control.

Sounds like an episode of Adventures with Sonic the Hedgehog. Scratch and Grounder would put down some chili dogs for bait and Sonic would instantly know it was a trao but still go into it anyway because of how confident he is that he can escape whatever plan is cooked up. He'd eat all the chili dogs and then once the anti-gravity trap started working in him he would start spinning himself until he spun so fast he started making his own gravity and then to two bozo robots and the anti-gravity metal would get cartoonishly shreded by his spikes. So silly. OP cartoon sonic can be like Bugs Bunny level. But plain ol' vanilla video game sonic could probably even still homing attack out of an anti-gravity situation as long as he had ring energy

Batman making plans for people i always enjoyed however what i dont enjoy is how they present him as his plans basically always work. In fact they shouldn't always work, nothing is that perfect even if planned especially when dealing with beings as strong and fast as sonic. I definitely do think given batmans knowledge if he finds out about the properties of the chaos emeralds could come up with a way to either make a machine to disable it or possibly manipulate the frequencies of the chaos energy to work counterintuitively on sonic but even then base sonic is tough and even with a well made plan like someone as smart as eggman its always a hassle dealing with his insane power and speed. Sonic is able to get caught off guard but one time is more than enough for sonic to go in for the win so that one opportunity may be the only one possible
