There's actually a plan so simple that once Batman figures out it would work he would do it in a heartbeat. Kirby is both a baby and an orphan, Batman is notorious for adopting orphans.

I enjoyed the summary of Kirby's strengths at the end. "His strengths are: every kind of strength you can have."

It's simple, just give him food and he'll follow you around like a puppy.

Don't forget, in Kirby 64 it showed that if he wanted to Kirby can fuse two powers together to make something new.

Don't forget Kirby can hit a world ending meteor 10.000 lightyears away within 20 seconds.

Batman stated in this video was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Kirby's strength. Kirby is a tough nut to crack and a powerhouse to say the least. He has overcome Nightmare, who also attempted to exploit Kirby's weaknesses. And as another note, Kirby is merely a baby, and has yet to mature as a Star Warrior. This factor would be the greatest thing to try to exploit, yet it would be morally questionable. Now we have to see Triple D and Meta Knight.

Oh trust me, you dont want to make kirby depressed. First, he can escape every situation batman could put him in. When kirby is around, stars that he can use as ammunition spawn from sources of any energy; kinetic, electrical, calorical, mystical, etc. Among these stars, kirby can summon a warp star, and when using it, kirby's speed becomes unrivaled. Why doesnt he use that power in the game to directly go to the final boss? Because if he did there would be no game. Besides, in many instances, running after a foe is more than enough, or he needs to explore to find and rescue his friends, like in star allies, where he had to explore popstar and the space to free those places of the darkness of void termina. Second, kirby doesnt seem to be able to comprehend moral dilemas. He killed sectonia, even tho she was innocent (the evil came from the mirror taranza gave her), but her power and growth made her a danger to popstar, he killed haltmman, even tho the true enemy was star dream. Another thing is that kirby is (apparently) inmune to mind control. Many foes with mind controling powers have appeared, but none has been capable of controling, even in the least, kirby. Not even morpho knight EX, an angel of death, perfected, could submit kirby And if somehow kirby is put in the situations batman wants to put him in, he can just solve it. If the situation is real, he will solve it, if its an ilusion of any kind, he will break free. Batman's best bet is to befriend kirby. If he is the good guy, kirby will never attack him or his friends, and will help him against evil foes. And a kirby that is a friend of batman could also count as a contingency plan for batman, if he becomes evil

Sorry Bats, an isolating area would not work. As seen in Kirby Squeak Squad and Kirby Super Star Ultra, he can draw copy abilities from his stomach via copy essences. He's technically never without one. Good luck!

If you have to use a contingency plan to fight against Kirby, the proper response is to recognize that you're in the wrong, apologize, figure out what mistakes you made that led you to this point, and start turning your life around.

.....Bruce. This 8 inch tall walking black hole of naive cuteness and powerful gluttony capable of ending any all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant on the planet is not only a really nice guy. He's also kind of a literal baby with a one word vocabulary who's greatest weakness is food. The only copy ability he has that's the most dangerous to himself and leaves him the most vulnerable in a fight is "Sleep Kirby", which makes him fall asleep for a short time and he can't do shit unless he takes a hit or it just wears off. Give him a cart full of watermelons and he will obliterate Darkseid before lunch.

I imagine Batman taking a cautious approach with Kirby but when he realizes that he is a creature with the mentality of a 10 year old he will try to be friendly and over time he notices that he is a good boy but absurdly strong. Over time he can do tests disguised as games, realizing that Kirby is practically unstoppable physically, that he is 100% a good boy and loves sweets, fruits, vegetables and cakes.

Batman doesn’t seem to realize that Kirby doesn’t need a contingency plan. He is the contingency plan. While he can be a little capricious, when it comes to food in the end of the day, he is the arbiter of friendship who will cast down those who decide to harm others, and he’s not one to pull punches if it calls for the utter annihilation of their souls. Kirby will give you every opportunity to repent, but he’s not a fool like Batman, who will just allow an evil to exist because he doesn’t want to take proper care of his problems.

Batman forgot one detail about Kirby. And that is, despite his cosmic levels of power...Kirby is a smol child...He doesn't have the mental capacity to really understand or be affected by Moral Dilemmas or Physcological Attacks. Plus, Kirby doesn't need anything to be present absorb to use a Copy Ability, as shown with Superstar and Squeak Squad, Kirby can either store Abilities for later use as in Squeak Squad, or just cycle through his Copy Abilities at will, as shown with Superstar. Plus Kirby is largely inactive unless someone disturbs him. His days usually consist of Eating, Sleeping, and maybe Flying sometimes. He only ever really puts his immense power to use when some Evil shows up. Honestly, the best way to contain Kirby? Just let him vibe. If someone like Darksied shows up and causes havoc, Kirby will wake up, slap him through 70 alternate dimensions, and then go back to sleep when Darksied is gone.

It's all fun and games until you make kirby become too jaded and he falls into darkness

This understands his character pretty well, which is hard to see out there. Good job. That said, he doesn't draw his own power from positive emotions, therefore making him doubt himself will not depower him. He can grow stronger or create weapons from positive emotions, and that power remains his own long after the fact. Think of it like a power system, rather than a GL power ring.

I'm used to hearing serious characters say goofy phrases in fan material by now but hearing Batman say "The Love Love Stick" so stoically really got me. Something great about the picture at 1:20 is that anyone who's never seen/heard about what goes down in Dreamland 3 would assume that's a hypothetical portrayal & not something that literally happened on-screen in an E-rated SNES game published by Nintendo.

I like how he specifies that the plan he came up with is far from perfect but rather is just the "most viable" option for dealing with something as over the top as Kirby. An example would be that I don't think that getting Kirby to absorb a power with a downside would actually work, as I seem to recall that Kirby can voluntarily expel any power he's absorbed if he doesn't want it anymore.

I have to disagree with this one. Kirby is technically still a baby. So, you're talking about making a baby depressed, Batman. The best contingency would be to befriend Kirby and guide him from a dark path. Plus, I think trying to alter Kirby's positivity might backfire. If he draws from negativity, then you'll really be in trouble. Just look at Meta Knight.

This sounded like Batman’s greatest challenge. I know these plans are all hypothetical, but compared to your other videos that I’ve watched so far, I feel like this one had the most “can’t be certain” statements.

It never fails to amaze me how powerful Kirby is

Batman missed a few small details: 1) Kirby is a fragment of Void Termina, the Endgame Entity - basically the personification of Entropy. The little one is pretty much all the positivity Termina had in itself. Putting him into a constant negative state would risk him actually BECOMING Void Termina. Kind of like trying to overpower Zatanna only to turn her into the Spectre. Not the best idea. 2) Kirby is A CHILD. Literally a baby. Bats should be worried about what a fully grown Kirby would look like. 3) Kirby, just like Batman, doesn't work alone - he has friends that can, and will, rush to his help, from the rotund but massively strong King DeDeDe to the adorable Adeleine (who can turn her paintings to life) to Meta Knight, the last of the Galactic Knights... to THREE OTHER KIRBIES coming from parallel dimensions. Antagonize the pink puffball too much, and you're in for a world of hurt. 4) Kirby CAN FLY and exhale air blasts strong enough to knock out an opponent. He doesn't need to inhale enemies to be dangerous. Does that mean that Kirby is invincible? No. Problem is, Batman is thinking Batmanish - "overpower, rather than bargain". Kirby has various weak spots that are linked to his own nature: 1) Kirby is allergic to bugs - they're literally the only thing he can't eat. Just send an insectile hero to fight him (not "insect themed", "insectile" - an actual bug) and you're fine. 2) Kirby is a growing child - he'll stop to eat whenever he can, and nap whenever he can. 3) Kirby CAN be reasoned with. Sure, he can only say "poyo" and "hi" (again, he's a baby), but that doesn't mean that he won't listen, UNLESS he perceives you as being mean to him or his friends. Then you're doomed.

I wonder then if just sitting down and talking to Kirby about what he's doing might not be more effective and productive?

Honestly, the part where batman wants to trick kirby via "having shown his actions have consequences" and "making him feel bad" might be the DUMBEST thing ever Lets take Void termina for example, hinted at several times in star allies to be a dark reincarnation of whatever a kirby is, and instead of taking power from kindness he takes from hatred and anger thats bad enough, but to top it off he can copy *ON SIGHT* as shown by the weapons and crown that he spawns in his fight against kirby (those are the same tools the community theorizes was used to lock up void termina in the first place, the giant body (not the orb) also being the person who presumably fought him) So imagine a rage filled kirby who only needs to look at superman in order to copy his powers......yeaaaaaaaaa thats going to be bad

I think it's important to mention that while Kirby is the same species as the most destructive and powerful villain in the universe, Kirby is also the most positive and good being in all the universe

This contingency wouldn't work. Kirby has faced things that would cause doubt and sadness before, and he has been able to overcome them. And Kirby is a strong fighter even without his copy abilties. He can still utilize quite a few things to help him out, so he won't need to rely on his copy ability. A usable contingency would be to befriend kirby, and to pacify him with food.

According to the anime, his weaknesses are a hot potato,scarfies,mummies. To name a few.

Notably whenever kirby gets a copy ability it's usually not exactly the same as the entity they got it from amd often he can get the same ability from multiple sources implying his power isn't to mimic other powers after consumption but to civert other powers into the closest equivalent he is physically capable of welding at that time, so kirby probably wouldn't get full use put of superman powers at his current strength level but he might get an ability lile fighter high jump or a new ability that vastly improves his Ariel Maneuverability and gives him a few Melle attacks, however if another member of his own race possesed tye same ability they might be able ti get varying levels of use out of superman power, for example if metaknight could inhale he probably would be able to inherent more of superman's powers but would likely choose not to as his bat like wings already give him great control and speed whilst flying and he prefers sword to sword combat so he can fight with honor against am even foe, void termina on the other hand would likely get almost full power out if superman's abilities but would similarly not need it as by the second phase he's already flying effectively and he wouldn't have any arms to use suoermans strength for Melle attacks, also void termina dosent even have a face under the bird mask so idk how he'd even Inhale

Kirby's most dangerous ability is that not only is he aware that he's a manga character, but every year, he wins a contest where the winner becomes the main character until next year, allowing them to reshape the world into whatever story they see fit. Unless Kirby purposefully makes a story where he loses, he won't lose. You would have to enter that contest and win yourself to take main character status away from Kirby. THEN make a contingency plan.

Genuine contingency plan that could possibly work for the ball of doom: Tranquilizer fluid in a absolutely enormous amount of food. He has the mentality of a child and will eat at any point, and considering the sleep ability is a thing, as long as you can move him somewhere away from earth before he wakes up, you should be "ok".

The only contingency against Kirby: make friends with him. If that doesn’t work: may god help you. Luckily befriending him is easy. Sharing a meal and fun time is all you need.

Yeah, planning to fight Kirby is just an all around bad idea. It's much easier to just offer him cake or something, and he'll instantly be your best friend.

You can temporarily disable Kirby by having him consume a nightcap or a sleeping person.

Two problems, Kirby has no morals and has never shown any negativity to the many unintended consequences of his actions. This assessment that you could crush him with negativity shows a complete lack of understanding of his abilities, or his race. He draws on positivity to defeat foes that are weak to it because they're weak to it, not because it's his primary strength. Secondly Kirby can access the powers of anything he's ever absorbed. Locking him in a featureless room will stop him from picking up new powers but not from using those he already has. First step to defeating Kirby would be making a portable dimension traveling device, like Ricks portal gun, and then getting him to eat you. Once inside his stomach dimension you'd want to destroy everything in it, before portalling out. After that locking him in a featureless room would work, as long as the room is strong enough to contend with his planet shattering raw strength. And the star rod, which has powers that haven't been fully explained and which he can form at will.

I don't think that last one will work as he would just abandon the power and if the kryptonite looks yummy ... We might get a new kirby.

Ok, trying to use the weaknesses of the abilities Kirby absorbs is actually kinda pointless, as he doesn't actually gain the weakness of whoever's power he absorbs. He's not transforming, he's just gaining the primary powers and fashion sense of whoever he swallows. The only time Kirby gains a weakness from an ability is when the ability itself _is_ the weakness, like with Sleep.
